Niles making the most sense here with the oven 'threat'. You already made your ice creams. It's sitting right there on the table 2 feet away from you. You literally just have to pick it up and carry it upstairs, where you're going anyway. Why make the butler do something so preposterously easy?
I know the Sheffield kids are spoiled, but even they have limits, lol.
I just finished watching all of the Nanny again! I'm a grandmother this time round (age 67) and I truly have to say age hasn't dimmed the appeal of this show. Thank you to all involved in this show it will go on to be a classic!

Tell me about it, it had at least 1-2 more seasons left. Although I suspect they could of went on for 3-4 more seasons before ending it. It was so good and ended prematurely. The only consolation is to see the nanny get an ending to wrap it up and not canceled with no ending
the ending that Fran had in mind was Fran and Max weren't going to end up together but the network said she had to put the characters that's why show ended the way it did

It’s sort of super sad. At some point in the series Fran and Maxwell get together. I mean it’s a show. But… all this while, years and years of Maxwell being a coward. Can you imagine the real-time “Fran” in this relationship, every day disappointed. Enough that she calls him a “cold British fish”. Sorry Nanny Fine. This is how the cowards are ❤
It’s one of those things I accept in fiction but not reality. Obviously in real life I’d never encourage a woman to wait around like Fran did, but on the show I wanted my wish-fulfillment happy ending. And I did enjoy their actual relationship. On a human level I actually understood Max’s trauma, though. It’s just that in reality you’d let him go instead of hoping he’d be able to finally move past it.
Waiting never hurt anyone. Just look at waity katie aka Catherine princess of Wales. Lol

@@Saranoh2009 To be fair though, Fran dated a lot of men during the show's run and was even briefly engaged to a few of them.
But luckily for Max, none of these relationships worked out and she was still avaible when he finally was ready.

To this day I do not understand why Brighton asked Niles to bring the bowls upstairs for them in the first place. Like, I get it was for the joke, but in-universe what was his reasoning? He was going up empty-handed, he could have just taken the bowl (or even both of them) himself. Which he did in the end anyway.
Because Brighton was rich, spoiled, and entitled.....

Back then it was more of a subtitle thing it had nothing to do discrimination dear everyone had to do that no matter where in the world you were it didn't come later until they started having things in every language this was in the 90s don't forget. I am in my mid 30s things were very very different back then when I was growing up.

Is the show mainly about Fran with the adults or with the kids because I’ve been skimming the episodes and it seems to be quite a bit of episodes where the kids are either unimportant or absent for a lot of the time.
Both, it is mostly about Fran and Maxwell
Some episodes were more heavy on the kids and some they were just there.
I am still trying to figure out why Fran has such a huge forehead.
