mizoram is so beautiful but the most important thing is that the people are amazing , polite ,soft spoken ,very helpful. The most peaceful state in our India . I love mizoram .
The best time to visit Aizawl is prior to Christmas sometime during 21st to 24th December when streets are crowded with cheerful people, shopping or simply hanging out, street Concerts etc. The actual Christmas day is usually calm & cool with 95% of the people attending Church services in their own locality committing themselves to worship and as you have experienced, all shops are closed & there is hardly any activity on the streets.
I had stayed in Mizoram for 5 years.Lovely city, kind hearted and helping people. Learnt mizo and had travelled to most of the remote places in Mizoram.

Sometimes when tourists came to Mizoram, I feel a bit embarrassed thinking there is nothing much to it; our Foods are bland, expensive and sometimes even the locals have a hard time finding places to eat. But you covered up my State nicely and still see the good. Thank you and come again!!

As a Mizo born and brought up in Aizawl, but spending most of my adult life outside the state - i always wish i had the time and opportunity to explore some of the uniquely beautiful places in Mizoram. I drove my car to Mizoram in 2017 covered places like Aizawl, Hmuifang, East Lungdar, Khazawl, Champai, Zokhawthar which is the border town with Myanmar. Also entered into Myanmar's Chin State. It was a memorable experience and will Cherish it forever.
Mizoram is a wonderful place to live in.... Happy people, well educated people... Good eating habits everything is so good there..... I lived in aizawl for few years... Really enjoyed there.... I would love to welcome the people of Mizoram to our state Uttrakhand 🌷

In December before Christmas I've visited mizoram, aizawl the view was soothing my soul i was there for few days so couldn't explore much I've visited bara bazar the traffic was hectic idk if that happens daily or just because it was prior to Christmas but the cab driver was so calm about the traffic jam no one was honking 😅 I've also faced difficulty while communicating with them as they don't speak hindi I wasn't getting any replies in English also wish i could learn few words that time it would've made my journey more easy ❤❤
I also wish I could’ve explored the markets and Christmas decorations in the city. For me language wasn’t a problem as the folks I travelled with were excellent in both Mizo and English…

What a STORYTELLING, ABSOLUTE CINEMA, VERY ELEGANT, CHARMING and quality experience i had, its just like one of the documentaries from NAT GEO but more of in terms of personal perspective wise, and i liked how you kept pushing in those little fascinating facts in between about the places and the people (note: learned a lot of new things about Mizoram from you today).
And thanks to you now.. my WANDERLUST is outgrowing to Mizoram and soon I'm gonna end up having some good STRONG americano in Aizawl LOL.

If anyone is interested in visiting Mizoram during Christmas season especially, do come before 25 & 26 since every activity is put on hold to celebrate the birth of our lord Jesus Christ at churches. The second week of December would be the best time as decorations and stores are at full display. I hope you enjoy your stay !

The way is certainly complicated - took a while to find it! And yes, I had a fantastic stay in Mizoram :)
In December before Christmas I've visited mizoram, aizawl the view was soothing my soul i was there for few days so couldn't explore much I've visited bara bazar the traffic was hectic idk if that happens daily or just because it was prior to Christmas but the cab driver was so calm about the traffic jam no one was honking 😅 I've also faced difficulty while communicating with them as they don't speak hindi I wasn't getting any replies in English also wish i could learn few words that time it would've made my journey more easy ❤❤
I also wish I could’ve explored the markets and Christmas decorations in the city. For me language wasn’t a problem as the folks I travelled with were excellent in both Mizo and English…

Absolutely! Frankly we just didn’t know and later it was very hard to find a taxi to take us there. Now I know better :)
