- Gibraltar's Brent Barnett met up with Lamb of God drummer, Art Cruz, to build a custom Gibraltar rack for the studio recording of their new album. Check out how Brent Gibraltarizes Art's set up at the Foo Fighters iconic Studio 606.

I hope Cruz doesn't use that awful bass drum sample he was using when he first started playing live dates with the band. The sample was awful and the volume was way too high. 'click, click, click-click, click , click'. It was like someone beating a plastic bucket with a spoon.
..kind of like the song playing around the 6:00 minute mark of this video, for example. hahha. What an absolutely awful bass drum sound. Why would anyone choose that?

Hey Brent - you know, you could use the SC-GCEX to join those two halves of the curved bar. Lock it down, then release one bolt to slide the other half out. It'd look less conspicuous and also mean you won't have one loose clamp floating around while out on tour!
Matt Cowan thanks for the comment! You are right! However, he needed something a little faster than the GCEX when breaking down. He wanted to split the drum kit in half quickly. Once you place the GCEX on a tube, it’s sometimes difficult to remove.

Brent...what are the chances of a rack/product line in black powder coat? I had my Gibraltar rack done a couple of years ago, and I'd love to be able to buy add-ons and NOT pay through the nose for powder coating...it's a sharp look, and gets a ton of compliments!

I don't know why Art is getting so much hate. Don't get me wrong I'm a huge Chris fan. And was very dissapointed to see him go and was a bit hesitant to listen to Arts drumming. And I thought he would have copied chris. But he didn't he definetly has some chris influence on him for sure and you can hear it. But I like Art brought his own style to lamb of god. Super super nice guy also.

Not a fan of the hoop attachment for the hi hat. Did that with mine and every time I kicked it the hi hat would make noise. So I just mounted the hi hat to the rack with a grabber arm thing

In his interview with Digital Tour Bus, Art showed a Pearl Icon Rack that he said his mom bough in Guitar Center. Now he said that his first rack is Gibraltar.

They cut the center pipe (that connects right and left rack) for purpose of easy break down and transport. Instead of cutting pipe and adding extra hardware to re-connect them, why not just use solid piece, and simply release one clamp to move? That made no sense to me.

Recorded - pretty sure the album is already done. Art has been a full-time official member of LoG since July 2019, and this will be his first release with the band.
@@ThrushCZX yep, i'd only heard about the official ( found on google, actually, after watching this ) split last night. last i'd heard, chris was leaving temporarily for unknown reasons and Art was doing the tour in his absence. well, guess we'll see how he sounds with them in the studio 🤷♂️

Chris was great, and Art has done an amazing job as well. Art and Dirk were both personally selected as replacement/fill ins by Chris Adler himself
I respect everything that Adler brought to the table during his stint with the band. Dude rocks! Now with that being said, I think Art is a much more accomplished drummer than Chris. And he will hear it on the new record.

this guy is a great replacement for Chris Adler, however his horrible bass drum trigger sound has made me unable to listen to any new Lamb of God material. I actually walked out of a show in Philly because its so bad
