Just like previous iDrive systems, Journalists still haven’t figured out that there are programmable shortcuts. Yes, you can actually save frequently used functions in the car as shortcuts so you don’t have to go through menus while driving. In previous BMW’s you can save those to the 1-8 presets. In iDrive8 you just simply swipe your finger from the top of the screen and your shortcuts will show there. So his frustration with distance following and some other buttons can be found with just a swipe down on the screen. For BMW Owners who didn’t know this as well, just hold down the function you want to make a shortcut (ie Ambient Lighting) on iDrive8, and highlight the function you want to make a shortcut then press and hold one of the 1-8 presets to save.
I actually didn't know this myself, thought they got rid of those super useful shortcut buttons. Wish they kept the 1-8 buttons though, hardware shortcuts are always useful.
For those of you who own a newer BMW with no physical button to turn off start/stop, just drive your vehicle in the individual mode. This mode turns off that start/stop system. Make sure you configure the mode to your liking. Mines is set to all comfort settings, so it’s like I’m still driving in comfort mode, just without start/stop.
Alex on Autos/Auto Buyers Guide had an interesting analogy on these Swoopy Coupey SUV’s a little while ago…they’re kinda the sedans of the 21st century. Same…ish (though very loosely) 3-box sort of profile, but lifted up to meet the preferences of current buyers in the market
Whats funny is the exact spot you pointed to on the steering wheel is where I can adjust my adaptive cruise distance on my '24 M240i. Weird this car doesnt have it.
Since you can’t rotate those tires, how long do they last? Can they make it through the 3 year/36k miles so I don’t have to replace them before the lease is over? I’d hate to spend money on the leased car! All other maintenance is included at BMW for the first three years.
Is this considered an X6 M car since the next trim is the competition which is mostly for the track? About to order one but im debating if i should spend 25k more for the competition or its not worth the extra 25K for just seats and 90HP .. any recommendations?
That’s all on you. You want the full brutal and uncensored M performance of a X6 you go with the X6M Competition. If that’s still too much for you but would still like the V8 then the M60i is best. Some people say the Competition is unnecessary and too much making the M60i the sweet spot, heck even the 40i best(is what they said). It’s best to test drive the Competition and M60i to find out what works best for you. If you already have a M car like M2, M3, M4 or M5 then maybe the M60i makes sense since you’ll already have the M experience. 🤔
Are those bongs when you turn the car on a North American thing? Because they’re in every car on this channel but I swear we don’t have them where I’m from and I’m pretty sure it’s not just my brain tuning them out every morning. Like it’s a lot of bonging can you toggle them off??
Definitely more power and much faster. Sound probably similar but you can get rid of the resonators on this thing and it will sound much better. Driving experience probably is typical modern BMWs, lack of connection but still fun. Never actually driven a cayenne but from my experience in Panamera, cayenne will feel more connected.
Looks like they’re still using allot of plastic just shinier 🤦🏼. Gotta love the cheap coating that peels off over time on the previous yrs. My x6 gos down the round sounding like someone is squeezing a plastic soda bottle non stop creak creak creak crack creak crack.
I’m not seeing 95,000$ I’m sure it’s still plaqued with typical BMW purposely engineered issues and or cheap materials used all for maximizing their PROFIT 💰🤑
An ultimate leasing machine
I would buy it instead of lease, since nothing is breaking in the first 3yrs, at least we would think so...

@@artvandelayimports I totally agree. I miss just having the physical 1-8 buttons.
This was one of your best infotainment reviews in quite some time. I'd love to watch a full video on it alone, to be honest. Nicely done.

So sleek, it's unforgettable.
