***** Thanks, John. Misi, (Mihaly) is brilliant on the keys. It's been my great fortune to do these collaborations with him. I finally get to play in an ELP band, wherein the keyboard player actually cuts Keith Emerson!
Thanks, Ron! We had finished the musical parts of this awhile back, but had trouble finding a singer who would take on these wide-ranging vocals. Len came up with a great solution, and saved the project.
Wow Dave, this was excellent from every point of view. Brilliant team for covering one of the most exceptional bands ever. Not an easy job, but you guys made it ... Misi's hammond sound is just perfect, his playing not less than that. Drums as precise as usual and true to the original, bravo my friend. Rock solid bass work and last not least ... it`s nice to finally see the dark side of Len .... awesome vocals!
Thanks Rich, from ALL of us! I still can't believe how lucky I am, to drum for these guys. Never had this level of top-notch talent all squeezed into my neighborhood, (or within reasonable traveling distance), growing up in the old band days. So it's a dream come true to be in a band, (however virtual), with them now. I really am a 'Lucky Man'!
my brother in law who is a very gifted guitarist used to play the organ part re-arranged for guitar just for fun. A few years later when I had the chops to do it I taught it to myself by ear. Quite a challenge, but so much fun !!! :):) ... since the bass is playing unison 2 octaves below to the organ then that was what I did, only on thinner strings (easier ! )
+17drums .. I don't know how overlooked it may have been by the masses in general, to me all this music was always so important and a part of my life. back then it was all about the records (albums) so you would try to have the complete collections by ELP, YES, Tull, Gentle Giant, King Crimson, etc. as long as the money would allow it. And then also trying to catch them live which was not always possible. This was before cassetes, CD's, Videotapes, DV D's and Computers so those albums were our religion, looking forward to the latest release and then bringing it home and checking out the artwork and pictures ..... those were the days ... LOL
Definitely a great period of time. Kids today probably think "records" are some sort of documentation. I was referring specifically just to this song from the album, as it never seemed to get much radio air-play.
Hello again! I love ELP! As such it is always a pleasure to hear their music played. Especially by such talented musicians! Now you have found a good vocalist, more ELP please?!! If you can catch the UK's finest of ELP tribute acts, Noddys Puncture, please do so. You won't be disappointed! Keep em coming lads! Your music is greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Raphael! Yes, there is definitely more ELP on its way. The next one is completed, (without vocals, though), of the 'Blues Variation' from the 'Pictures...' album. On that one, we have Rachel Flowers playing the Hammond, with Misi on synthesizer. As for Noddy's Puncture, I'm YT "friends" with their old drummer Steve, going way back. Great band. Love their video of when Emerson showed up and surprised them onstage at the club by his home!
Glad to be the first commenter:)Thank for it! It,s one of my all time fave ELP hit, liked to drum(cover) it very much. The bass drum sounds excellently - best ever! -, the tom parts are very fine too. And the whole band and sound is perfect!
You really saved us on this one, Len. The project had been on hold for over a year because no one had the b***s to attempt the vocals. Fantastic solution you came up with! Let's just hope now, that Evil Len is properly subdued, and buried in your sub-conscious, never to rear his evil head again!
Great fun to see you guys. This is one of my favorites also. I envy you to contribute, and can give us this. I see you love this as much as me. Greetings from Roar,Norway.
Roar Syversen Thanks, Roar! Yeah, these collabs are real fun, and a great way to show our appreciation of these prog Masters. I'm very lucky to have hooked up with these excellent musicians from around the world. I had never been able to play with such superior talent in all the physical bands I've ever been in through the years. Geography used to limit the accessible talent pool for those bands. Not so anymore with these cyber bands! Greetings to Norway, (Edvard Grieg country!) from the USA!
Thank you very much. Nice to hear from you. Hope there will be more from you. I understand what you mean about the great talents you collabs with, but it demands a lot of skills and love for what you guys do. ☺✌Have a nice weekend.
I think the key word is LOVE for what we do. I've done some other collabs on other prog bands: Gentle Giant, Yes, Genesis, etc. We just finished one on Yes' 'Yours is no Disgrace'. The kid playing guitar is phenomenal. If you get a chance, (and you like Yes), you should check it out, For a young guy, he really knows his Steve Howe. As for ELP, we're finishing up 'Lucky Man' 'The Endless Enigma' and will be starting on Karn Evil 9. soon. You have a great weekend also! And thanks again!
I love Gentle Giant. Yes and Genesis as well, but Gentle Giant had that special effect on me, almost as much as ELP, sometimes. I am going to hear this and I am sure, with the same joy and pleasure.
+17drums .... yeah, that was the first video I saw by the virtual band and I came across it just by looking for new videos by Rachel I hadn't seen before ... like I said, he's quite the showman and free of playing an instrument he adds quite a visual flare to ELP's monster music. I spent a lot of time watching your videos yesterday, I loved Karn Evil 9 and I can see how a young drummer getting into prog rock would get such joy from it. I didn't find part 2 (welcome back my friends) is it out there also?
Yes. KE9 1st Imp. Part 2 is the drum cover I did first, many years ago. Check my ELP playlist. Also, we're currently working on the entire KE9 composition with Rachel. Should be quite a production, (whenever it's finished). For now though, we're moving to complete 'Canario', (but without Rachel's participation). If you like Yes, you should watch the 'Yours is no Disgrace' collab I did with another incredible musician from Argentina, named July Valls.
you guys really covered this perfectly I checked out Pino L unbelievable, some people have so much talent, i have enough trouble just with the drums 🙃🙃
The large amount of text at the end was a bit overwhelming because there was a lot to read and only a few seconds to read it. Yes, you can pause the video but I suggest you either break it up into small sections or make a separate video with each musician talking. Good job with the editing! I think it's cool that you formed an international band and made a cover together. :)
Thanks! Yeah, the bios are a bit lengthy. But as you said, if one wanted to really read them, then 'Pause" is always available. These virtual covers are great. I don't have to move any equipment, and I get to play with choice musicians from around the world!
GREAT PERFORMANCE BY EL&P COVER !!!! From The album TRILOGY !!!!! Living Sin !!!! Congratulations !!!!! Very good job Ok !!!!
Thank you, Massimo!
Absolutely amazing talented musicians. Incredible & Awesome collaboration!!!!
Thank you, Sir!
Bravo! One of my ELP favorites also, Mihaly did a great job on the keys.
***** Thanks, John. Misi, (Mihaly) is brilliant on the keys. It's been my great fortune to do these collaborations with him. I finally get to play in an ELP band, wherein the keyboard player actually cuts Keith Emerson!
Well done guys, keep em coming !!!!!!! Love your covers !!!!
+simon fuller Thanks so much from all of us!
+17drums You're welcome. Greetings from the Harz Mountains Germany :-)
Greetings back at you from Hungary, and the U.S.
Ok. Vocês conseguiram mais uma vez !! ! !!
Excelente.
Muito obrigado por todos nós!
Great cover guys ! And seeing/hearing Len doing these vocals was an extra pleasant surprise !
Thanks, Cees. Yeah, Len did a superb job splitting his personality (and vocals) into Evil Len, and Good Len!
Nothing short of incredible on this collab! You all must have spent countless hours rehearsing this baby. Great job Dave and everyone!
Thanks, Ron! We had finished the musical parts of this awhile back, but had trouble finding a singer who would take on these wide-ranging vocals. Len came up with a great solution, and saved the project.

Thanks so much, Amy!

+Victor Coral This is an often over-looked piece by ELP. The drumming is also quite fun on it. Thanks!

This song always reminded me of The Shining. I might not be the only one. Great playing!
Thanks, John! We appreciate that.

Wow! Mr. Mihaly has one keyboard in every room of his house!!! LOL
But he loves his Hammond and Leslie the best!
Dave, as always it's a pleasure to work with you! I'm sure we'll be sharing the virtual stage again real soon!! Thanks everyone for the compliments!!
You really saved us on this one, Len. The project had been on hold for over a year because no one had the b***s to attempt the vocals. Fantastic solution you came up with! Let's just hope now, that Evil Len is properly subdued, and buried in your sub-conscious, never to rear his evil head again!
17drums Ha Ha, I'll do my best.... But Evil is full of temptations, you know!!
Yes, that's why we're included in the Big Three; Sex, Drugs, and ROCK AND ROLL!
Excellent!!!! I love it when i find well-done obscure ELP. Oh yes
Thanks! Yeah, you don't see this one done much by anyone--even live ELP cover bands.
Dave! This has to be one of the most magnificent things I've ever seen and heard! You guys sound *GREAT*!!!
Thanks so much, Steve! The video is a little out of sync in places, but if you focus on the music, it works.
Outstanding..!
Thanks!
Love it. Well done.
Thanks!

Thanks, Dan! The tough ones are the ones worth working on, right?
Bravissimi!!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Bravo, Bravo!!! Nice job by all.
Thanks Dave, from all!
Wow! This is so good 😊
Thanks, Alex!
Awesome as usual!!
Thanks, Mark! You're generous, as usual!
Excelente! Parabéns a todos!
Thank you!
Len is also doing a great job as always, he is quite the showman ... lol ..)
+Victor Coral Yeah, we were lucky to have had Len's evil twin sing on this one as well. Have you seen him in his sheriff's costume?

Super !!

Bravoooo
Thank you!
you guys really covered this perfectly
I checked out Pino L
unbelievable,
some people have so much talent, i have enough trouble just with the drums 🙃🙃
You should post some drum videos! (Btw, I like your playlists).
@@17drums thanks Dave
I never tried to video
I'm not very technical
I can't even set the clock on my stove without help 🙃🙃🙀
I really enjoy your drumming, and thanks for telling me about Pino
he's amazing
I keep thinking how long it must have taken Greg Lake to learn that bass part. 😆
Great song and great job keeping ELP alive !!
One thing I have to ask , maybe it’s me - but is this being played slower than usual ?
It's definitely slower than the original. I'm not sure why. I didn't do any of the mixing or editing.
Where did you get the keyboard music for this? I've always wanted to play this but could ever find the music.
I believe it was picked out by ear.
@@17drums Think he wrote it down? Maybe I could get a copy? ...Pretty please. 🙏🏻
@@bettersteps You could go to Misi's channel (the keyboard player-- ua-cam.com/users/mokusmisi) and find this video and ask him. Good luck!
@@17drums Thanks brother!
great stuff though its kinda needs more syncopation ....
Qué gran error colocar el órgano debajo de la escalera, cuando la limpian cae toda la basura sobre el teclado... jajjajaja
