Yes, this character used to be an RF, but I couldn't bring myself to enjoy S3 RF at all. VC is a lot of fun, but in terms of 1v1 match-ups, I'd say he's even weaker than BM since he lacks safe approaches. Anyways, here are some matches I recorded yesterday. Aside from my experience with KirbyTaker in S2, I've only played VC for about a week, so don't expect anything too crazy.

I have a VC myself and what would be a better option for me?
I intend to get Bleeding Slicer anyways because thanks to the STR you can't use that hilariously awesome combo they showed in the VC trailer.
But which of the level 30 actives would be best?
Flame Sword or Haze Explosion?
Also which class/character do you find the hardest to fight against in PvP?
I noticed you left the grenades at level one, instead of maxing them for a bit of extra damage. Out of curiosity, what did the spare points go into? Also, what are your thoughts on using them for catches, as opposed to a neutral X, aside from the obvious "X doesn't go around curves" thing?
So, you've finally joined the master Raven. Tip that you probably don't need/picked up already. Backslide is a great catch from odd launches. More hitstun than a normal Z and feels safer in general, well, if you're willing to waste the mp.

Also I gotta go with Jedster with VC definitively having the edge over BM with better approaches, but like someone else said it's all our own perspectives while playing the classes.
BM inflicting cut tendon with noted GI debuff and stacked evasion is still one of the most evil things to me lmao.
A lot of VC's options are high-risk, low-reward which makes him a very fun character to play because there's always room to improve and perfection is virtually impossible. Unfortunately with this being only my first week of playing a capped VC, I'm not at that level to take those risks yet.
Can't wait to see future stuff.

VC has safe catches just not as reliable as BMs. He's more so better escaping with how much he can cover the field in fire or smoke clouds. Backslide in high competitive play is a gamble, you'll either get snuffed really hard or snuff your opponent.(it really isn't tough to avoid it people) Haze is his most safe catch. This doesn't set in stone or say BM is "stronger" than BM, I honestly think BM is just a bit under VC or on his level.
Yeah haze is definitely a godsend thanks to its fast activation time and lingering hitbox. Still, it's a bit risky to use it as an gap closer since the opponent can easily see you jumping at them, while something like Shadow Thrust just comes out of nowhere. You're also quite vulnerable while falling to the ground if your haze misses.
***** Not if you use Bleeding Slicer in Succession, it has a virtually 360 degree hitbox
fatal doesnt activate quick enough if your opponent is in your face, its a very small chance it will work.
I dont really play Safe so dont really take most of my advice I'm usually kidding lel

I don't think harpoon spear and ignition crow are that strong with my gear. They only do about 30k overheated, and I'd rather spend the MP on actives.

U don't need high fps at all just timing and practice
I would agree with soul but also disagree,having low FPS prevents executions of some fancy actions(you might lag and your opponent might escape your catch in which you would have to find a way to safely catch them.
Been playing PvP endlessly for 2 years and I've noticed my FPS going to the dump over time.for example I main VP and is very hard to fast knock with my current lag(due to low frames)
No FPS prerequisites required. Just hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours *Five hours later* and hours of practice.
...Okay that may be an exaggeration. Probably how long I was practicing it and I still suck.

In all honesty, I think you've got it wrong. VCs have much safer approaches than BM does, including the range he has. Not to mention the fact that he deals much more damage than BM
What safe approaches does VC have? >>^ZX isn't safe, XX isn't safe, Napalm Grenade is too slow, and Shadow Backslide isn't an approach. The closest thing he has is Ignition Crow - Incineration, but that's 200 MP.
BM has Shadow Thrust and Wolf Fang, so he doesn't have as much trouble against passive or defensive opponents. Maybe it's just me but I can win matches more easily on my BM by far

Really though, I think it's just our own views on how we each feel on different approaches. The fact that all of VC's safe approaches requires MP make it sort of a double edged sword tactic. While for BM, he is the same thing, but doesn't have as much skills to back it up. As much as shadow thrust and wolf fang are fast acting skills, VC doesn't need to use as much mp to create openings, unless the VC is trying to control a certain area in the match. Laying down the napalm flames on the ground may seem like it's just something to ignore, but it's something not worth ignoring if you're at low hp. The fact that VC can create ranged approaches to make the opponent retreat at a certain point allows him to take control of the area and limit his opponent at areas of which he can move, therefore it makes it easier of an approach for VC than what I thought of BM. This is all really how we each feel bout the classes, honestly. He may not have super armor skills except BR, or fast acting skills used to catch, but it's all worth it if you can control the area (the honest tactic VC has). Like I said though, he wastes more mana than BM, so it could be viewed from different opinions.
Jedster -kun The main argument isn't if VC got more control than BM overall in matches, but how fast he will get it.
VC has an slow-start like BM, but if the VC failed to gain mapcontrol, his whole approaches aren't nearly safe. Also the amount of MP he needs to gain control mid-game can be disastrous considering you face classes with heavy burst like VC has. If he got the control, he is better than BM, that's true, but regarding that BM can turn the control faster and more efficient than VC makes him pretty weak in that regard. Also VC loses in MP management in nearly every aspect to BM.
Also BM got more SA approaches than VC has which leads to more openings than VCs aerial control.
DarkKerialstraz BM's only options of easy catches are wolf fang and shadow thrusting, both of which cost mana. VC has more utility skills that aid in his catching and escapes. he's not as slow as BM to start up catches, and I'll agree he does need mana to catch most of the time, but the usefulness of those skills and combos back it up. It's not about the fastness of control, but the efficiency. He has more control with his pressure game than BM does, while BM has only two efficient and fast catching tools. VC's skills may be slow, but they can easily force players to avoid spots, lowering their options to move. Fire DoT from VC may not be much to be scared of, but players tend to ignore it most of the time now, and soon it ends in their loss. Also considering air slicer, VC can have faster and easy trade hits in the air and can easily penetrate players' vulnerability from recovering from KD state. What other ways can BM manage control if all he had were those two skills in which he needs mana for and ^z's? Efficiency>fast control.

Just inquiring, whatever happened to dash ZZZ loop? It is great that initially, you try to throw in active and or splash damage, but then you go into combos that are quite flashy but not as efficient as I would like to see you of all people do. ZZZ into an active is taboo, right? I know it aids against lag, as sort of an anti-lag safe combo. Aside from that, would it not be considered bad, however? It is mediocre damage, I guess

Elwiki shows that the damage output, KD and mana gain are all better when totaled in a dash ZZZ loop combo. Nonetheless, you are using freezing which might up the practicality of using the combos that you are. I think Wind is more compatible with dash ZZZ loop

Too much risk makes VC a eazy catch >.> he is slow but has Super high dmg making him scary if u are caught , the problem with that if u are catch him alot of times and making him unable to overheat then that just taken halve of his dmg away . I main VC and i cant do much with him and its hard to catch or approach

Urgh... Both times, the LK's in both the YR and VC videos make me cringe.
The YR one just didn't know what to do, while the VC one was WAY too 100MP-friendly.
