I have a Swiss K31 that I love to shoot. Have only fired Graf factory loads in it thus far but have a few test loads ready to go. I literally unboxed this rifle, peered through the bore, loaded one round and leaned over the hood and nailed a cantaloupe-sized rock 200 yds out in a field. I was stunned! First shot! Will never part with it. Good review, Doc.
@@hello1212 I have an FFL and ordered mine through one of my favorite distributors. It was several hundred $. Nearly perfect condition though so I feel that it was worth it.
Impressive from a rifle that old with an off set scope. You did a good job Doc. And that gun looks like it kicks like an old mule. Almost hit your glasses 👓. God Bless brother
Nice review; most people report that the K11 is less accurate than the K31 and G11 but it is also the rifle with the shortest sight radius. A nice peep sight, provided it can be fitted in a non damaging way, might be nice.
Badace tactical do a, no drill or tap (NDT), long eye-relief picatinny scope base that goes in place of the rear sight then you need a "Scout" type rifle scope and weaver mounts. I have not used one of these yet but it might be more convenient than side mounted. Vortex do 2-7 x 32 scout scope with 9 3/4 inches and it might not be far enough for the long action of the K11.
good video! its a really beautiful gun, way ahead of its time i am currently serving the swiss army and also have some of these beauties at home the 10 round box is probably because our mandatory service makes us have to shoot once a year to maintain our gun and abilities. Those obligatory events have a programm of an even 20 rounds on 300m (about 1000 feet)buy 2 boxes and youre ready to go (in my area you get a free beer and a sausage too if you also do another programm of about 20 rounds) K11 and K31 are well respected to shoot these events and provide excellent results father of my best friend does 1cm spread on 1000feet all of these events, without a scope!
@@vameathunter2771 yes to be fair, its not a K11 or k31 that he shoot with... its with a standartgewehr (similar look, ammo and such) but its very much possible to hit this accurate with K11/13 seen many people hit excellent results, even Stgw90, an assault rifle, is used on 1000feet and extremely precise i would love to see more videos from you about swiss guns, keep up the good work!

Very good video review brother! I'm impressed with the technology this antique weapon possessed! Savage just came out with straight pull, non lift bolt actions and I think they'd be deadly for running hogs. And if you can afford one BLAZER leads the pack with this concept! So do you think this is the standard government issue to all adult males as part of thier conscription into the Swiss Army? What caliber is this puppy! I'd love to shoot this one.
I was very impressed with it's technology more than 100 years ago. Yes and it's 30 caliber. This kicks like an old mule but really fun to shoot with recoil pad.
Had several of these K-11 and K-31s. I found that the K-31 were more accurate. Most sub MOA. Now for the critique. Doc, you got way too much travel in that recoil. More forward pressure with your shoulder will stop that. You gonna get a nice little kiss from that scope.
My son got me to buy one of those for our collection a few months ago. He convinced me it was an "investment". If you remove the butt plate the name of the soldier who carried it is often there.
That cocking knob is not stupid. Sometimes the swiss have a spare time and they take their rifles apart and use those parts to build a Watch. That is a tool to build a watch.

Really cool rail! I put a rail and scope on my K31 and made a video too. Next year, it will be my deer rifle. I like yours a lot!!!!
