You can't imagine how helpful this video has been. Your explanations and demonstrations has cleared so many things up for me. Thank you for your effort.
Excellent video, packed with clear and concise information from start to finish. I know there are other practioners to watch and learn from, but I do wish you still had a darkroom. Atb, Martin. 👍
Brilliant. I've developed roll film before, but never sheet film. My biggest two issues were temperature (I was in Afghanistan and Thailand) and keeping the negatives clean. I have three 4x5 press cameras I never used in part because I didn't know how I would send them for developing. I think I'll just do it myself now. When I get back to Texas I will try. Thanks. I'll bookmark this.
Great video, they cause a certain amount of sadness to me though as I'll probably never have access to a darkroom again. Photography went from a hobby to a love affair when I had my own darkroom back in the 80's.
Always helpful to see someone else's workflow. I use a Wista 45DX, nice to see a Chamonix in action. Also the Stearman tank, which has some mixed reviews. I just develop in trays, my bathroom is dark enough with door closed at night. A pretty image!
Yes, this is wonderful indeed. Ithink I have been inspired to try something like this. It must be nearly impossible to find an enlarger these days too, I bet. ?
Mr. Henson I am looking for a 6x9 travel camera which looks like Fuji GW690 Professional. f/3.5 lens 90 mm. I saw you working with the Mamaiya 6 automat. portable, the fuji weighs less and the viewfinder is bigger. Thanks in advance. From Mexico City.
Very nice and detailed presentation. I am sure the newbies would find this useful. Would you agree that for a novice, a developer such as Ilford ID11 or Kodak's D76 is a good way to start ?
A very informative video Martin, thank you. Regarding your films, do you use box speed or have you worked out an EI? That camera does look a lovely piece shame you can't get an image from it.
An outstanding video Martin! Thank you, its a huge help to me with my 4x5 process. One question if I may, assuming I would print up to A4 or , possibly, A3 what resolution would you scan at. I too have a V800 and seem to find too many different views on scanning resolution for 4x5.
Thanks for great instructional video on 4 by 5 processing. For 120, do you remove the backing paper before you load the film into the reel or just reel the film into the roller and let the backing paper fall off naturally? Thanks.
Thanks for a great video. The Stearman Press tank is available in the UK. I bought one last year from Speed Graphic. www.speedgraphic.co.uk/film_processing/stearman_press_sp445_4x5_developing_tank/28057_p.html

Takes me back to the early 70s when I first started processing black and white film.
I started in the darkroom around then, thanks

Very therepatic watching the whole process.
Really informative Martin, you are tempting me to buy a 4x5. Just landed myself a Bronica SQ-Ai. Liked the metering tips
You will love the Bronica, thank you
Hi there, great video ! As a site effect (that pleases me ) I can watch and fall asleep really nice and calm descending into Morpheus' armpits :D

Wonderful, Martin. I wish I had found this video closer to its release date. I would have been more generously for that print! Wonderful work.
Lovely work again Martin...the Art of Photography from start to finish...great Video!

Hi Martin. I'd loved to watch your video.I mainly shoot 35mm. But realy wondered to see 4x5 film shooting and developing process. Thank you.

Martin, this was very informative and details from start to finish. Have you tried shooting with 4X5 X-ray film?
No I have not tried X-ray film as yet, thank you

I would scan at 3200 iso then re size the file in PS

As you load the film onto the reel, as you do this the backing paper separates from the film,

Thanks, wasn't sure if it was, had mine for a couple of years, that confirms it,.
