    Nice set up, ran a bunch of trucks and the last two have been Pete 335s and you hit the nail on the head! Tetris is all together and you know where it is and that’s all that matters! Never have enough room. Great video, I feel if I made one on my truck it would be 100% the same video! Keep it up 👍🏻

    I done emergency road side service truck for 24 years using F150 ford extended cab 4x4's. miled out 3 trucks in my time on the road not even wanting to try to guess how many running motor hours each truck had. only needed tow home one time when a front upper control arm failed. doing mostly semi truck and trailer stuff primarely to get the unit mobile to get to a repair shop if it was a big serious repair. the highlight of my truck was having a remote start on the welder that i had a cord run into the cab to a microwave and a coffee pot, esentials for long days on the road. i could warm my coffee on the go. Only now sitting back looking at my time out there doing that job, I wish we would have had the powerful battery operated impacts ect they have today would have made things so much easier. the bonous on my truck was converting the air compressor to being powered by the trucks motor after years of fighting to start a tiny gas powered motor in minus fourty weather. the one big down side to using such a small lighter truck like that was space once you stuck a miller portable welder in the box. along with rattles of tools in two tool boxes mounted in the back seat of the cab. we removed the seats and made a flat floor we bolted the two boxes to. but tools were always warm, and air line hoses and wire ect were kept warm on the racks between the tool boxes. Now not doing as much I just use my Ford Ranger to do minor fixes or as i callem put on a bandaid to get the unit off the road. it works ok for what i do. yes guys, yes guys i did receive some slack when truckers seen a girl come to fix their trucks. my favorite line was,, You Broke It Butter Cup, If You Do Not Want Me To Help Say So. and I had guys actually ask for me to come rescue them, so worked both ways.

    unlike the carpenter i understand everything and i relate so well. I keep things clean. I like OEM repairs but will rig it if I have too. I’m sloppy with used parts and parts for my own truck but I try to keep replacement parts for sale in good neat order. But you have to be consistent and routinely clean the truck after big jobs cause you are tired at the end of the day (or midnight lol) and you just throw stuff in the box as long as the door shuts on the box then you don’t care lol. But the next day, or next chance you get between jobs you need to go back and put things back in place and clean them. So you will stay ahead and stay organized. I have had to learn the hard way 🙄 Don’t be lazy. Keep your tools clean and check your inventory each week! Good video btw. Loved it! :)

    Got a question for ya Cam, how does the welder handle being inside the dog house? Do you have vents to direct the hot air out of the dog house? I’m setting up my new service truck and I like the idea of having the welder inside the dog house rather than on top of the box, but I’m curious about ventilation

    Wow I wish my truck was that well kitted out when I was working on oil field cranes...and jeez it was impossible to get companies to pull oil samples on their cranes. Worst one I saw was a return filter on a grove had never been changed since new 6k hrs of run time well the filter was gone and the whole system had to be opened up and purged/cleaned. Sadly I was laid off right when that job started so I didnt get to see how screwed it was. Kool truck bud

    Nice set up worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for 25 years had a lot of service truck similar. But sad that anymore once a mechanic always a mechanic no where to move up to anymore most service managers now have never even been a mechanic. Fortunately I got out before I was unable to work started doing A/D work on cranes.

    also yeah you better have things tightly packed or otherwise things slam against each other and get “discombobulated”lol. So that also means you better have enough space to have everything you need because when you pack it tight there is no extra room to add more along the way other than taking it all out and re-engineering your tools and parts storage… or adding more boxes to your truck. If you got a big truck like this it’s harder to run out of space lol (depending if you fix heavy machinery or 18 wheelers) but you have to be more concise and creative when you only have a 1 ton Dodge dually 8 ft service bed lol. The dually is a must though. Bare minimum as a field mechanic Don’t attempt diesel repair with a single rear wheel… Not enough load capacity nor enough room cause you have a smaller bed since your truck is not wider like the dually… anyway. just some input and i loved the video! 👍

    Omg I wish mine was that big I'm disabled and been wanting utility truck while to make me fishing and camping truck set up for someone in wheel chair I can walk which my box has top open and it's kinda tall I'm 5ft 8 and I can't see in top unless I'm on tip toe lol. But will be great for fishing rods. I also run kids fishing group I go out find awesome and special kids young adults that can't get there own righting gear and I'll get them set up with rods reels tackle and all with parents permition. Alot we bless have parents disabled also or single parent like I was for my daughter while life at home. Shoot she's 21 just had baby and I still try to help out. But I like my truck but guy burnt me on it took money to fix some stuff and I paid think to much kinda but he took money drop dropped off didn't fix and found out heater was in hooked the tail light wires ripped out so can't drive. How can someone rip off someone disabled or that has to use wheel chair when out at stores. But that's not sad part we spoke about me getting scammed on toy hauler wish I could have walked up the ladder to see the top it was bad now roof inside the toy hauler over 16ft of 25ft trailer spent 6k and can't camp or drive the truck. But he told me about a boat he got scammed on and said how bad someone did that to me. Then he took the money took my guns and I didn't get what I paid for. I saved so many years. But I'm praying someone will come look at the toy hauler bathroom still covered and part kitchen if I can find way and help ide love to take cabnits out bathroom new 2x4 to hold up the roof left but suport the rest roof it should be good damage was in back but when back dropped open like sardine can just pulled away. But if I can add front wall fix roof. Have 10ft box and 15 ft floor on back be a deck. Maybe can add a roof just 2x4 roof to were I could cover with tarp when I go camping I mean I sleep out side anyway. But I picked toy hauler for ramp. Now can load wheel chair my grill and scooter things can't fit in a camper gen all that. But I'm praying I can. And if possible find walk in shower floor make the bathroom were I can add chair or set on toilet out it in shower alot RV are one open shower with toilet sink so it has been done but I need wheel chair size I can't stand long so maybe this was blessing I've wanted a camper with deck for over 15 or so years to use for traveling and us giving away fishing gear to special kids. But I mean I'm sorry if your reading I didn't mean to say that. But your truck man ide love one that big then draws for fishing tackle I want to make one or find a cabnit top to bottom draws to add for tackle hooks weights swivels terminal tackle but that's perfect yours I mean my small and big tackle boxes would fit in. Ide give my gmc truck and my 04 dodge ram to have 1 truck like yours that's alot storage my camping gear my tackle one side with gaw gear for kids that way when I find more all go in one side. Thanks for sharing sir. God bless.

    • @olegk455
      @olegk455 Рік тому

      30,000lb is not uncommon when it’s that much tooling and stuff. These trucks are always overloaded and it’s nice to have a bigger truck but than you have to deal with commercial vehicle paperwork and hours of service crap.

    I “up”/down graded to a diag tech… and was offered a smaller tool body full 4 door cab truck but no crane… thought it be nice zipping. From site to site mine to mine .. not having to worry about parking and space
    Don’t do it lol I regret it all the time my service truck was like a second home and I knew where everything was and could do almost any job from it self sustained for the most part.. now doing almost the same amount of jobs with less space and tools just a mess will switch back offered in the future ..
    Also brakes were a big factor on wanting to switch went through pads like bi monthly wheel bearings and seals often as well but I’m not getting too much more life out of these smaller truck pads with the weight on the truck
    Just a friendly warning for anyone considering a similar downsize in truck I wouldn’t knowing what I know now.. our most senior field tech did the same as me and we both are regretting it
