Someone already commented this, but just to second it... It's common for zoos to house primates on islands because they generally won't cross water. So if you splintered your stream into two and had an island in the middle, that could look really slick and add to your diversity of enclosures idea. Looking great though. Love the decision to get away from the tunnels.
If you ever need more room in the zoo, the barnyard petting area could be moved to the amusement park, or maybe to the countryside where a farmer has a petting zoo, corn maze and wagon rides.
Most zoo's put the monkeys on an island surrounded by water. Would look nice in the middle of the zoo in front of the birds. Or 2 islands with small monkeys and gorillas separate.
I'd entirely move the barn animals to the countryside. They take a ton of space. Also there probably should be less crocs in that enclosure. That being said this layout is way better imo
One of the first "big" books I read as a kid was, "James Earl Jones, Voices and Silences by James Earl Jones, Penelope Niven (1993) Hardcover," which showed me how a young kid who stuttered could go on to great things. I grew up with a severe speech impediment, that stifled my voice. James Earl Jones proved to me anything was possible. As a a middle school teacher, I pass on his legacy to students who do not know how to use their voice. I am grateful I was watching my favorite UA-camr, which softened the blow of his passing. Thank you for giving many of us reasons to smile and create, like so many icons before us.
The new zoo layout is amazing!!! The only small suggestion would be to move the entrance one base plate outside the zoo. Opening up another full plate and also creating a dramatic entrance. I love your city!!!
It must be so awesome to have your significant other enjoying your passion with you. My wife isn’t into LEGO, and sometimes thinks it’s a waste of time, money, and space. Doesn’t stop from enjoying the hobby myself though. Keep building and inspiring. Love your channel!
Would be cool to maybe use a bit of the top of the hills/ mountain for the zoo maybe a funicular to connect the two, allows you to have more real estate to use and I think gives it a cleaner look enclosing the zoo at the top, at the moment the zoo stops because a mountain/hill is in the way, maybe something you can expand in the future but I think it will give more depth to the zoo and the hills/mountain, love the vids keep up the good work 😊❤️
The zoo looks a lot better, i really like the new plan. How about with your penguin enclosure you could have a pool for them to swim in and where you go down the stairs you could have a underwater viewing window. That would look really good
Could move the barn yard animals to a proper farm in the countryside, or leave the petting zoo in the zoo and still add a farm. Though, if you built a farm, could use the farm animal space for something else in the zoo.
Looks so much better, I love the arctic area and the viewing windows. I think the aviary is still too large, I think something like the Botanical gardens structure for an aviary would look amazing. Also I'd move the barnyard animals to somewhere else, such as the country side, you could add a school bus with children visiting on school excursions.
Jurassic Park vibes with that monkey enclosure! And I love the concept of a cave for the polar bears! The new approach to the zoo is fresh, it'll make for some nice changes!
Loving the new zoo layout plan. If you are going to keep the lions next to the mountain side and it is not going to be to much trouble, maybe just maybe you can create a nice cave for them in to the mountain as their den
A facade entrance on the side of the mountain for reptiles would be cool, any zoo iv been to reptiles are always inside like a reptiles cave or something like that
I like the new zoo layout. There should be more Easter eggs under mountain like a construction crew and equipment maintaining the structures, a cave of gems for the 7 dwarfs and a Hoth monster cave
It looks bigger, those tunnels/viewing platforms must have taken up more space than you think, great to have that space for the animals. I did think the tunnels were a really clever build. The aquarium here in Sydney Australia has tunnels like them through the giant fishtanks so they swim over the top you (the tops are also glass) just giving you an idea for a future build.😊
Looking great bricksie. You could consider adding the koala and red pandas to the aviary. Also combining the otters and flamingos. It might not be zoo accurate, but wit ill allow you to show more animal in the same space. It would also be nice if you could get some of the polar bear cubs and gorillas those new molds are amazing. Really looking forward the next update.
This is incredible. This is amazing. Absolutely fantastic. I’m a toy collector myself but this is just above and beyond brilliant so interesting. Thanks for showing us the video Lego amazing what a cool city love the zoo 😀😀😀😀😀
Yes what a great idea to start over and I love how it is turning out. I was also hoping at the start of the video that you would place the flamengo's in the kreek... and was as glade that you came up with that idea. Very nice, can't wait for the next update.
Jordan, I see a guy selling a lot of 9v Lego track on Facebook Marketplace a little over an hour away from me. Not sure if he would be willing to ship, but I figure it is worth a shot. 138 straight, 153 curve. I don’t want to post the link on here. What would be the best way to send you the link privately?
Im glad you've decided to scrap and reimagine the whole thing. I second the comment that suggests shifting the entrance out. Also think it may be interesting to make one side wall of the aviary a rock wall and have it as a goat or bear or lion enclosure backdrop. So a perpendicular rock wall jutting into the Zoo splitting the aviary and another animal. Oh another thought... Make the creek come off this siggested rock insert as a waterfall. Might mean you can reduce the aviary size a bit if the creek is removed. Of course just random ideas to contribute to your amazing city!
Consider a 2 tier aviary, wrap around walkway on top with a glass house in centre so people can see down into the aviary, few food tables and vendors on the walkway with a trail leading up the side of the mountain to the walkway on the aviary
Hi Bricksie. Delighted that you have started revamping the zoo. Your plans sound really good. I'm a tad disappointed that you haven't changed the entrance to the zoo. I think a new zoo needs a new entrance. The monkey enclosure is a lovely concept and will work well. Was great to see Jose again.
The zoo should be multi tiered to begin going up the mountains, like the zoo itswlf was built into and nesteled into the foot of the mountains Ive been to zoos like this set on a mountain/hills/plateaus with meandering switchback paths going up and down connecting the sections.
Wow zoo update! Love how you always mix it up and keep us guessing on what you are working on next. Just an idea but the left side area of giraffes and elephants and zebras etc could be one big safari type enclosure and the lions enclosure built into same style? (This is how my local zoo does it)
I’m sure you would be able to build a new aquarium somewhere else in the city should you like. Most of my real world experiences with zoos and aquariums have been as separate locations.
I love the direction that you and Mrs. Bricksie are taking the new zoo layout. It looks much more open and pleasant for the animals. I'm sad to see the aquarium go but I agree, it was taking up a lot of space and looking kind of outdated. I think the panther enclosure needs to be a tad bit bigger - like where you moved the new boundaries to. As others have inquired, will you be adding the new gorilla or red panda to your enclosures? I think they would add a nice touch to the current layout. I always loved the attention to detail you gave the old zoo. I have no doubt that this one will be magnificent in not only its design, but with all the trees, flowers, and minifigs that will be added. I have always thought that you and Mrs. Bricksie work outstandingly well together. It was great seeing her there today. I can't wait to see your progression, to the completion, of the new zoo design. I have no doubt that it will be phenomenal. PS: Please don't let the detractors get to you. I am so proud of everything you and Mrs. Bricksie have accomplished over the years. I have been watching you since almost Day One and think that you have come such a long way. You do a magnificent job. I love your vision for your LEGO City. I also highly enjoy your daily uploads. They really cheer me up and inspire me. I have been going through a rough time so I genuinely look forward to seeing your videos. Your creativity, genuine personality, and kind heart truly helped me get through some of my darkest times. Keep up the great work, my friend. You have come such a long way. Much love to you, Mrs. Bricksie, Benjamin, Milly, and of course, your furbabies.
Loving the new layout of the zoo! Cant wait to see how you are going to decorate it. Have you thought of adding statues around the whole city? They could be Easter Eggs for people watching and you could add in custom minifigs
Hi bricksie. - I’m from England and currently travelling through Canada I even saw an Edmonton road sign on the way to Banff - I am in so much trouble for watching your videos daily during the vacation but who cares eh? Looking great man 👍🏻
I’m looking forward to seeing the zoo develop - lego animals are one of my loves. Maybe you can put the camel and ostriches together because they both live in arid environments?
One of the zoos in my area many decades ago has a domed monkey enclosure. It was a concrete jungle and they always looked so sad, so yours will look better with trees and plants for them to enjoy.
Should build stairways on side of aquarium and then walkway along the mountain rocks. Would create a scenic view of the zoo for Bricksieville minifigs.
Was not shocked about this at all really haha. I figured once you had started it, then stopped to brainstorm, something was up. We hadnt seen a video in awhile and it must have meant you were probably gonna start over with the interior. With the mountains behind it, I think that really needed to be more fleshed out in your head, especially considering you have a lot more space to work with now. Definitely looks like a better start and I think your doing it right this time. The mountains I think would be a good starting point and then working forward from there. Both the lion, bird, and aquatic sections will rely on that to be done first before you can even work those which are pretry important places in the zoo
You might have to split the section with the barnyard animals as the larger animals like the cattle are not usually kept in the same enclosure as the smaller animals. Also if you work out where the paths are going to be you can work out where the enclosures will be and maybe end up with a couple more.
Dont know if u tought of it... but i think it would be cool (if possible with your layout) to incorporate the mountain side/main building of the zoo, and creat tunnels within it!??! Could be accessable with a removable part of the mountain. Dont know if there are many underground lego animal... but could be the animal "housing".
If you need any inspiration for the future Zoo, take a look at the Schönnbrunn Zoo in Vienna, It has some very cool layouts for the different aspects of the Zoo!
Looking much better I like the direction of more difference in animal enclosures. You could even make a Lion king style rock coming out of the mountain a little bit higher. It could even look over another enclosure with savannah animals like giraffe zebra's and so on. With african style shops
This is awesome. People convinced the move to angled tunnels, but I don't feel the angles ever looked that great. nice change up to move the tunnels altogether
If you put the monkeys on an island with trees you don’t need a fence or wall. The zoo by me is actually set up that way but it has a water ride around the island
Will you be removing the tunnels, I never cared for them myself to closed in, kinda like it a little more open and airy 😊 just a thought, thank you for the video 🎉🎉

For the zoo another great idea would include enclosures inside the mountain.
Like a lion or bear den
And maybe an aquarium
Someone already commented this, but just to second it... It's common for zoos to house primates on islands because they generally won't cross water. So if you splintered your stream into two and had an island in the middle, that could look really slick and add to your diversity of enclosures idea. Looking great though. Love the decision to get away from the tunnels.
It can be made even more effective if you put the crocodiles in the water🤣
An Orangutan Highway like the National Zoo would be sweet
If you ever need more room in the zoo, the barnyard petting area could be moved to the amusement park, or maybe to the countryside where a farmer has a petting zoo, corn maze and wagon rides.
Most zoo's put the monkeys on an island surrounded by water. Would look nice in the middle of the zoo in front of the birds. Or 2 islands with small monkeys and gorillas separate.

That being said this layout is way better imo
RIP James Earl Jones. The Force will be with you, always!
The classic Bricksie move of “Build, Destroy, Repeat. Love it!!
You should put water for the poler bears to swim in
One of the first "big" books I read as a kid was, "James Earl Jones, Voices and Silences by James Earl Jones, Penelope Niven (1993) Hardcover," which showed me how a young kid who stuttered could go on to great things. So amazing! The lions den along the mountain, allowing them to climb is a cool idea.
How about an alligator swamp hidden out in your countryside somewhere? Then you will have much more space in the zoo.
I say build a farm for the barnyard animals in the countryside.
You could put the aquarium and a reptile house under the mountain too.
thats a good idea -- I was gonna say move the aquarium to the amusement park or elsewhere in the city
The new zoo layout is amazing!!! The only small suggestion would be to move the entrance one base plate outside the zoo. Opening up another full plate and also creating a dramatic entrance. I love your city!!!
With all the hights, dont forget handicap ramps, and pram ramps..plan ahead Bricksie!!! Lookin great

Yes! Elevation and platforms! The mountain behind is great!
Looks so much better, I love the arctic area and the viewing windows.

A Hoth monster (Wampa) cave that (mostly) only you know about (maybe only seen from your own table-pop-up access points) would be epic...
It looks bigger, those tunnels/viewing platforms must have taken up more space than you think, great to have that space for the animals. I did think the tunnels were a really clever build. There’s an email address in the video description.
I love it 🥰, perfect idea !!! And thank you that you make the hole for the animals in the hill

Yea! A new zoo. I'm lovin it!
I recommend switching the brown bars at the top of the monkey enclosure with flex tubing to help keep the shape of the enclosure
I'm only 2 minutes into the video and I'm so excited you decided to reset the zoo. It's the right move! Can't wait to see your next amazing idea!!!
Hey bricksie great vid! You should add a safari area with the giraffes and elephants and have the Jurassic park jeeps as safari vehicles!
Looking great man 👍🏻
Love the new zoo layout Bricksies! RIP JEJ.
Do you plan on including the new animals such as the red pandas, gorillas, and/or tigers in your zoo? Zoo looked 1000% better, great work!🎉
I’m looking forward to seeing the zoo develop - lego animals are one of my loves. Maybe you can put the camel and ostriches together because they both live in arid environments?
Does anyone else feel the need to become a Lego minifig just to visit this Lego city?!?! This looks awesome!
One of the zoos in my area many decades ago has a domed monkey enclosure. It was a concrete jungle and they always looked so sad, so yours will look better with trees and plants for them to enjoy.
You should do more for nocturnal animals with the mountain. Extend the bears cave for snakes, bats, etc.
fire hydrants for the city. saw them some were else. cool
Should build stairways on side of aquarium and then walkway along the mountain rocks. Would create a scenic view of the zoo for Bricksieville minifigs.
How about an aquarium for frogs? Lego do different coloured frogs which could have their own 'house' on a different Lego plant element.
Was not shocked about this at all really haha. I figured once you had started it, then stopped to brainstorm, something was up. Wow that's a big change , it's going to look amazing once finished 😮❤
Will the LEGO city gorillas be added to the zoo?
Love the new layout!
Your city so awesome keep up the good work 🎉
You could replace the brown 3L bars at the top of the ladders with flex tubes to connect all the ladders together
You might have to split the section with the barnyard animals as the larger animals like the cattle are not usually kept in the same enclosure as the smaller animals. Also if you work out where the paths are going to be you can work out where the enclosures will be and maybe end up with a couple more.
You could make the barnyard section a petting zoo!
Can’t wait for the final look! Possible to put a stadium like for animals shows. Or perhaps a veterinarian building for the sick animals
Your Lego city is amazing
I am here for u I love yours videos and love your work. On legos
The zoo looks soooo much better
It's Great to see such a creator. Inspiring
This is a pretty cool lego city I can't wait to start my city
Great work dude!!! Yooooo from Scotland 🏴
Aww man I thought is was really funny when the flamingos lived with the alligators :).
That is pretty sweet that Mrs. Bricksie can basically load a whole section of the city into the car and bring it home to work on. ❤
You could free up the bear enclosure space by having the bears free in the mountain area
If you need any inspiration for the future Zoo, take a look at the Schönnbrunn Zoo in Vienna, It has some very cool layouts for the different aspects of the Zoo!
You need to do your version of the West Edmonton Mall, at least the way it use to be with submarines, dolphins and sea lions.
Are there not going to be any of the new animals like tigers or gorillas
Bricksie you should make the farm in the zoo to a petting zoo
I hope Red pandas are added oneday to the zoo.
Looking much better I like the direction of more difference in animal enclosures. You could even make a Lion king style rock coming out of the mountain a little bit higher. It could even look over another enclosure with savannah animals like giraffe zebra's and so on. With african style shops
Like a Mufassa tribute to James Earl Jones
Thought of bringing the bottom side of the mountain more into the zoo giving yourself another level to put additional animals on top.
It is amazing how small the zoo looks in the city, but how giant it looks on your work table
This is awesome. People convinced the move to angled tunnels, but I don't feel the angles ever looked that great. nice change up to move the tunnels altogether
Sweet your using my idea of a cave in the mountain for the Bears!!
Yes, a fence made out of ladders will definitely keep the monkeys in… 😉
If you put the monkeys on an island with trees you don’t need a fence or wall. The zoo by me is actually set up that way but it has a water ride around the island
Love the new zoo!
I like the monkey island idea but you should have an overhanging tree and have the monkeys escaping and dotted around the zoo causing mischief!
Will you be removing the tunnels, I never cared for them myself to closed in, kinda like it a little more open and airy 😊 just a thought, thank you for the video 🎉🎉
A viewing gallery running through the aviary up the cliff, through both sides! 😮
You should get a friend giraffe
What about new gorillas/gorilla grod, and tigers?
Red bears/ mountain lion, leopard variants??
Nice looking upgrade on everything have you thought about a snake and or spider cage maybe a glassed in display for them
Maybe an idea to create a suspended walkway above/around a savanna area to look down on the animals and even under you.
The barnyard animals could become a petting zoo
I am really enjoying this new lay out. Dare I say it should be double the size you have it ? There isn't much space x
Bigger space, bigger zoo and more critical off own building as the previous zoo was small due to the small city.
Could you incorporate some enclosures, like the Aviary and Penguins, into the rock face of the mountain?
