    To reduce the amount of white in the arctic area, you could replace some of the white slopes by light blue ones, to imitate ice.
    Also, for the top of the cliff, at the edge of the future botanical garden, you could create a higher rock with an observation platform, where lego people can admire the view and take photos

  • @theenyaarchive

    Maybe the snow capped peaks near the top of the rocks , as you kinda lose the animals in the enclosure, perhaps just trees going up the rock face to the snow capped tops... just a thought... other than that the city is beyond epic, the custom trains stations you built are still a fave with us :) kind regards from the USA. Phill :)

    The arctic area looks amazing! I think swapping some of the snow pieces for some light grey ones would make the white animals stand out better. But even if you leave it as it is, it is absolutely great! I like that the whole area is arctic themed. An arch above the stairs with a sign that says something like "Arctic and Antarctic" might be an idea.

    Unortunately, I agree with some other commenters.The snow looks very patchy. Almost like static noise. Which makes it hard to see the animals. I would cover the entire bottom with solid snow and then have the backdrop be all grey rock. Because the snow would be fake imitation built by the zoo would it not? Some kind of white hard plastic/fiber type material, so it wouldnt be patchy in that case. Love your updates though, I hate just coming and offering criticisms

  • @memphus

    Lots of great comments about the busy static look of all the white/dbg. I just want to add that you should tack down the water tiles, to be consistent with water in the rest of your city. The pile of loose tiles just looks unfinished

    Hi Bricksie.
    The Artic section of the zoo is looking awesome. I love it! Just one suggestion, please put a dark brick behind the polar bear with the fish. It's hard to see him unless you zoom in. And he's the star of the show! 😂
    Your ideas for the new Botanical Gardens sound grand! Can't wait to see the implementation, and the waterfall.

    Looks great but I agree that the snow is hiding the animals, seals don’t generally lay in snow so they only need light grey rocks and no trees! Blue instead of grey tiles in the viewing area may improve the look for an polar scene. But it’s your zoo so go with what you like. Nice work. 🥶👍

    White next to dark bluish grey creates a harsh tonal contrast. Maybe consider adding some light bluish grey and light/pastel blues to make it look more natural. I agree there's a bit too much white, so think about where it makes sense for the coldest parts to be and focus it on those sections. The rockwork might also look good with some trans-clear bricks in places for an icy feel which would also mute the darker colours underneath.
    A fun idea might be to incorporate the robo-penguin from the Ice Planet CMF, maybe as an assistant in the viewing area or simply as an Easter Egg.

  • @foreverfornever1124
    @foreverfornever1124 День тому +1

    Good progress on the zoo so far! I do think the polar bear exhibit should be enclosed by a larger wall. Possibly extending out that side of the mountain a bit more or push that back facing wall to the back of that narrow side of the mountain you have built already to even give the polar bears more room to live. I do agree there is a bit too much white lol. THe seal exhibit to me feels the least impressive. Theres hardly any room for them to swim and think you should reallocate that small area you mentioned a food vendor for and give that extra space to the seals

    I'd swap some of the dark grey to light great rather than remove the white. Polar bears are supposed to camoflauge with the surrounding landscape so I think it's fine.
    I'd just put some beautiful lush trees and planters around the zoo along the walkways.

  • @LindaCLindley
    @LindaCLindley День тому

    Hi Jordan. Love the zoo caves, but I agree that the wall behind is too busy. It’s hard to look at and the polar bears melt into it too much. I like your idea of removing some of the white and replacing with light grey or bluish grey would improve the business of that back wall. I also vote for more around the pool or on the rocks space for the seals. They love to sun themselves or sleep outside the pool. They need a flat space around the pool to do that. I agree that those circular tiles in the viewing space would benefit from a change of color. Translucent blue would simulate ice. Do they make circular tiles In translucent blue? Good job, Bricksie! ❤️

    An idea for the arctic tile work would be to change the 'light blueish grey' to 'medium blue'. This would both break up the grey look and give it a more winter theme. If you want to be a little cheeky, it would be funny if you put The Penguin (Batman Villian) in the penguin enclosure like he's trying to rile them up for something mischievous.
    You've made great progress here, I love these zoo updates!

    Hi, Jordan. I love your Zoo updates! I agree, there may be a bit too much white in the Arctic enclosure but I'm sure you will rectify things. Plus, once you get the surrounding areas completed, it won't look as white as it does now. Perhaps if you put the light blue tiles on the showroom floor instead of the white ones, that would help break things up a wee bit? I love that shade of blue. I think it's called sand blue? I have no idea. I leave all of the technical aspects of LEGO to you. I hope you continue working on the Zoo. It's one of my favorite areas of your City - that and the Countryside. Do you think you will get the upper layer of the Christmas Village done this year? No pressure; only asking out of curiosity.
    Please say hello to Mrs. Bricksie, Ben, Millie, and of course, your amazing fur babies. Much love and happiness to all of you.

    I agree it's a bit too much white. Most bear exhibits I have seen have have a few large logs for climbing and a ball or barrel in the water for enrichment. That could help add color. I also wonder if having some clear "ice" instead of white would be helpful? I'm assuming the snow at the zoo is decorative not real so you could put in a frozen waterfall and not take the snow so far up the mountain as well.

  • @darrenjackson2799
    @darrenjackson2799 День тому +2

    I'm still at a loss. Why you don't relocate the zoo to behind the old residential area with the ninjago area. Now that you are no longer putting a whole mountain area through the middle. Zoo would make sense next to mountain and theme park.. and have so many options behind the beach and next to railway yard.
    I can only guess the zoo is too wide in current format and you want to see the zoo coming in?
    Having said all that, keep up the awesome work! 👌

You could also expand your zoo exhibits as well

    From a photographer's perspective, there is so much contrast, that it is hard to identify the subject in each area. Great techniques, but the grey/white makes things disappear. As it is man-made, I would suggest more white, which is natural for the environment.

    Some seals live where there's sand beaches, so you could add some light brown to break off against all the snow, and stones look. If you have some white tree foliage pieces, and added a few on the mountain side, it might soften up the white a bit.
    Otherwise, a lot of animals are difficult to detect on a distance in their natural environment, so if e.g. the Polar bears are a little diffucult to detect against the background, it only means you've succeeded in making it look natural.

    I still call the dark grey color ‘dark bley’, and similarly ‘light bley’. My recollection is it was a commonly used reference online when the color change first happened.
