KitchenAid mixers used to be the gold standard. They then got bought out years ago and the new owners replaced a simple gasket to a cheaper plastic one. It probably saved them 1-2 cents on a $300.000 mixer. They suck now! Noisy and annoying!!! Quality matters, and people notice. This is very important to cars especially!!!!
I just want a basic 1/2 ton 4x4 pickup with a straight front axle and a naturally aspirated V8 for $35,000. I don't need the big screen on the dash and all the bells and whistles. Just a nice cloth interior, power windows and a decent radio.
That's what I bought six years ago a basic model truck without all the frills and for less than 35K. Then I did a build on it too personalizing it to my needs and taste and still have less than 35K invested in it.

Water pump replacement on many new Fords require removal of the entire engine and front axles as well as the timing cover. This could cost upwards of $1500 US before you have the vehicle paid off.
Glad my 2012 Fusion 3.0 has the water pump on the back of the engine and is easily accessible. It’s sad when a company goes backwards with their product design in newer models

If you're honest you don't sell vehicles and end up broke. I'm a journeyman ticketed mechanic and tried sales as I wanted to help consumers. Ended up being too honest and determined that sales wasn't for me, went back to the shop.

Agree 2024 vehicles might be best to buy except for Tundras until they get the engine problems solved. 2025 might be better for the tundras but time will tell.

Maverick with AWD system is not a bad deal. It gets good gas mileage and it's more than enough of a truck for most people. Many guys at my job have f150 or Silverado, but don't use them for what they are meant for.
I bought a G3500 work truck for my business and within 20,000 miles the transmission started slipping. Luckily it was under warranty and was fixed for free. I wouldn't even bother buying a new personal vehicle as it doesn't inspire confidence.
Service departments is how dealerships make $$ money, it's not from the sale of the vehicle, so manufacturers make products that always need to be serviced, just facts people
My 2011 Ford F-150 with 119k miles will last me another 10 years. No pick up truck is worth over $50k. Let them sit where they belong … in the dealership lots.

I don't even buy new washers and dryers. I look for refurbished ones from the '70's and '80's. No computers push start with a couple of heating elements that are easy to change. You can buy those same pickups four years old with less than 30,000 miles for half the price. Depreciation in the first four years is the worse. Why would anyone want to throw away $50,000 over a four year period.
I stopped in my local Chevy dealer a few times in the last couple of weeks. Surprisingly they have 61 Chevy Trax….all trim levels and colors. They are not moving and they are all reduced $500.00. I thought that these cars were flying off the lots!?….so far not here. 20-25,000 dollar cars just sitting. I think consumers are just tired and disgusted with the car market overall. I know I am 😠

The Maverick has so many plastic components. Zip ties in the engine compartment to hold hoses and fuel, vacuum lines in place. It’s a cheap, disposable mess.

If you cant park a vehicle maybe you shouldn't be driving. That's a 2 k feature for sensors. NHSTBA For many of years we didn't have electric components to drive. Half the price of new vehicles are for options. People in 1980s and early had less horsepower but very few accidents. Today vehicles are cheaper made with ridiculous prices. Just lease and get gap insurance. Why gap insurance because can say the vehicle is worth more money than you paud for the lease. Someone i knewed died in an accident. The vehicle was leased abdtotalled. The dealship wanted more money than the car was worth. The insurance company said they inly wiuld pay half of the vehicle. He liat hus wife and had to pay another 4 k to the leasing dealership. If they had GAP INSURANCE would have covered the difference. Buying a new vehicle got complicated. Take Tesla lowering their prices on new vehicles. Now your vehicle is worth 10 k less. Your insurance only pays 80%uf totalled. Now your stuck with no vehicle but paying for it. Rel good insurance companies that you purchased Gap insurance will cover the total price if the loan.
Who's making this kind of money to afford these prices?? You can't live and eat out of your truck. Even if you work out of your truck, it's not a home 🤥
Manufacturers need to know that WE are the ones who tell them how much their vehicles are worth. My 2017 f150 was $51k Canadian a new 2024 is now $83k down to $73k with discounts now. It should sell for $60k.

Someone i knewed died in an accident. The vehicle was leased abdtotalled. The dealship wanted more money than the car was worth. The insurance company said they inly wiuld pay half of the vehicle. He liat hus wife and had to pay another 4 k to the leasing dealership. If they had GAP INSURANCE would have covered the difference.
Buying a new vehicle got complicated.
Take Tesla lowering their prices on new vehicles. Now your vehicle is worth 10 k less. Your insurance only pays 80%uf totalled.
Now your stuck with no vehicle but paying for it.
Rel good insurance companies that you purchased Gap insurance will cover the total price if the loan.

Manufacturers need to know that WE are the ones who tell them how much their vehicles are worth. My 2017 f150 was $51k Canadian a new 2024 is now $83k down to $73k with discounts now. It should sell for $60k.
I would buy an new truck or car before an EV.
