I just received the 2CDs of the Diamond Accordion Band. Outstanding recording quality and pieces of music. What is known about Fred Hanna? Rodrigo from Spain.
I have heard that there is no such thing as the BLACK DIAMOND BAND, Ihope it isnt , it has been SUGGESTD that it a one man recording different parts (STUDIO RECORDING ) etc. Can anyone out there confirm or DENY this. Den
This is true. It is one man, fred hanna, who released multiple records under the alias of Diamond Accordion Band. He also produced traditional Irish and Scottish record, under fred hanna ceili band and fred hanna duo etc. Theres an article about him in the belfast telegraph, pretty remarkable stuff. He or this record has no affiliation to the Diamond Accordion band that used to be based in Muckamore Co. Antrim
Of course,it would be interesting if anyone on the front cover of this record...ever...saw any July 12th parades (or such) in Toronto,Canada;since this record came out.....
I like the comments. When with my grandpa and it was time for me to go to,sleep he would put me on his knee and whistle the Sage gone in seconds....lol

We are the people even over here in New Zealand, God Bless Our Queen.
I grew up listening to this, it's still as good as when I first heard it.
I used to play this when I was wean.
I bought this album in Edinburgh, 1976! Still play it, and the picture on record sleeve is taken in Edinburgh!!
Great sounds!
Would you know if the Diamond Accordian Band ever played in Toronto,Canada?
