Jack Alterman, “the lick” is an old jazz cliche. It’s a very recognizable melody and Mateus highlights it very subtly throughout the tune. “The lick” is kind of a Jazz joke referring to a specific melody that turns up throughout history and has been now deemed “the lick” because how often it turns up. That’s what I meant by “the lick”. I’m sure we can both agree he is a wonderful guitar player though.

These days there doesn't seem to be much music that moves me, inspires me, and that I actually really enjoy listening to. Mateus Asato is an exception - every note he plays I enjoy, and I don't have to "try" to listen. My listening, my intake of his music is just as effortlessly flowing as his beautiful playing.

this is something like a different world...... mateus is the best coz at this time where we've many great and legends guitar players and making a place and sitting on the top isn't easy at all to be honest it was next to impossible thing but he did and achieved it..... may god bless you mateus !

I can't describe to you well enough what this song does to me. It is so beautiful. Such an excellent balance of tension and release. So much restraint within the technicality. This is the music I want to hear when I'm going through the chapters of my life with my creator by my side.
