    I'm autistic and I started watching this channel because of my interest in how solar weather affects our geomagnetic and seismic activity, and how that has appeared to correlate to increased difficulty with my emotional regulation and sensory issues. I would love to see more science being done on how space weather affects special populations.
    Having stated that, I am now just simply fascinated with this channel, and it's something my partner and I can nerd out on together. 💙

      It effects ALL biological populations. You are more sensitive, take notes and offer it to the public. Perhaps, with more input, we can collectively discuss the situational impact on individuals and educate the public. Unfortunately, this Solar cycle knowledge negates Climate Change being blamed on carbon footprints…

People are going to go insane. You see this if you look throughout the “history” we’ve been taught. I say half the population will perish. Especially in the cities. You’re right the souls will come back, we’re all energy but this physical realm, most people want to continue on this journey but most won’t. I swear my Starlink reception is impacted noticeably by space weather, but I'm struggling to interpret how from your forecast. What days do I need to go into the office to work?

    • @TamithaSkov
      @TamithaSkov  Рік тому +2

      Yes Starlink reception can be impacted by space weather. In this case, it is likely due to the radio blackouts. However, Starlink frequencies are quite high at 12 GHz. So it takes high frequency radio bursts from the Sun during solar flares to affect those frequencies, which do not always happen during every flare. I do report on radio bursts from time to time, especially when I see large ones, but it is not with every forecast. Also, sometimes during strong geomagnetic storms (i.e. when big solar storms hit Earth) Starlink satellites might see minor disruptions in service due to the rapid orbit changes LEO satellites often encounter during such storms. Again, it isnt something I explicitly talk about in my forecasts, but I do mention all of these things in my classes on You Tube and at Millersville U. Hope this helps!

    So glad I did my monthly errands yesterday! I'm allergic to the sun (XP) and this is the most brutal summer I've ever lived through. Today I'll be applying UV blocker film to the windows on the new house, I can unpack later. The amount of UV that gets in my house is unbearable. The solar film reduces the level to 2 and if I double it, its 1!

    Dr Skov, not long ago i was walking across the yard at work on a summer's day, and for the first time in my life, i felt the force of gravity. I knew exactly what it was as soon as i felt it, and i am no spiritual person. Is it possible that the sun caused an increase in gravity in my immediate area, allowing me to feel it? With the increase in extreme temperatures year after year, will it reach the point where thousands of people in one country feel the force of gravity at the same time? What if there were people in the opposing hemisphere from mine who felt light, as if there was a decrease in gravity, which they mistook as simply feeling light-headed? I am in Australia.

    I wish one of these would hit and wipe out the grid and every single electronic on the planet! We need us a good old fashioned technological reset!

      There's a whole bunch of research confirming solar weather affects our mind, body, and emotions.
      The number of cardiac events increases, as do the number of suicides and overdoses.

    Please talk in a less histrionic fashion. I want to hear what you have to say without the dramatic manifestations of you assumed projected drama.

      LMAO. Assumed projected drama? Its called excitement and passion for the subject. This is just the way I am when talking casually with friends. Ive spent 20+ years speaking in a subdued, formal tone during my professional career as a scientist, but it is not my preferred approach in a casual setting. If my personality irks you, I invite you to find another forecaster that suits your needs better.

      Your smart phone will always power up and work. Even a Carrington event wont take it out. Whether you have disruptions in specific services, however, are very much dependent upon what latitude and magnetic local time you reside in when the storm hits, as well as the strength of the storm. Those at high latitudes have a harder time than those at mid latitudes. That is why I call mid-latitudes the "Goldilocks Zone" for space weather. As for this particular storm, I got reports of aurora chasers having intermittent issues with GPS, but only for a short while. These storms didnt last all that long either, so that helps. That being said, we did get aurora as far south as New York, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Colorado, Utah, and Arizona in the USA. It was also seen in New Zealand and Tasmania, albeit mostly thorough partial cloud cover. This level of impact is pretty typical for an average, short-lived storm. As Ive repeated many, many times, space weather is just another form of weather. Just like a rainstorm, the vast majority of the time, it causes only mild inconveniences. Hope this clarifies things.

      See my Twitter feed! We had aurora as far south as New York, Illinois, Iowa/Missouri border, Kansas, Colorado, Utah and Arizona and that is just in the USA. People reported GPS issues in multiple places where aurora was active, including Kansas, which surprised me. All of this occurred from the storms that weren't really direct hits either. But as I've said quite frequently, most of the time, these storms are minor inconveniences, just like terrestrial weather rainstorms.

    What is the koralation between our climate and these solar storms . Is the sun showing signs of increasing activity that could cause us concern.

      Earth's magnetic field is weakening, which means space weather is having a stronger and stronger effect on the planet.
      As for your first question, this platform doesn't allow conversations about it. At least they don't let me talk about it 🤷
