In my younger years I played in various bands, including military ones, often also tattoos. When HM Royal Marines participated, they still stole the show through their discipline and that is still the case.
Precise marching, drumming and stick drill, as always. As a former member of the Portsmouth Band Corps of Drums way back in the 1960's I'd just like to say these Mess Beatings get better every year. Today's show is purely awesome !!
Used to have a bootneck piper come in from time to time when I was a barman down in Pompey. I think he was an instructor at the RMB school of music, but not 100% sure... Great guy, great musician. Always a good time when he brought his pipe with him.
THE BEST IN THE WORLD AND HAD THE PRIVILEGE TO MARCH BEHIND THE BOOTIES ON MANY OCCASIONS !! I also served in another government arm with a former Band Major David Dawson RM, I salute you Sir !! From Jack !!
@@bluenose21c Drummers / buglers are *not* combat soldiers but fulfill the same role as the band - unlike corps of drums within army infantry regiments. They are separate from the band, but still integrated within the RMBS, and not the 3 Cdo Bde.
As far as I am aware all Drummers/Buglers used to be trained Royal Marines, by that I mean they earned the right to wear the Green Beret has this changed in recent years?
Can someone tell me why the reviewing Admiral and the gentleman next to him had their tail coat and tuxedo jacket open and not buttoned? Struck me as rather odd to see military men at a formal dinner not totally ship shape. Out of uniform offense?
There's nothing like the sound of some good trebling on a high tension snare. Love it!

@fredrickclaessen3184 piper or drummer?

So well choreographed in step in time the dedication very impressive
Great vDrumming. Such a pleasure to watch and listen .
Best marching band and drum section in the entire world
Well said Paul. Tony
The Band of the Royal Marines are the best in the World
I couldn’t agree more, especially when they are Royal Marines FIRST and bandsmen second. Drum training would be after all other military training.
How can one not appreciate this??
HM RM Corps of Drum. Absolute best of the best !
absolutely amazing!!! BZ
The world's best
I'm disappointed because I can give this only One like! 👍
Britain's finest.
Utterly Superb! No other words for it!
Brilliant, awesome talent
I miss those days (ex army drummer)
I find the drummers fascinating, well done. Best band in the UK I think. Thanks for showing.
UK? How about WORLD?
@@johnsanders2266 Yes, was going to put that, but may have caused an argument lol
Drummers aren't part of the band they're the corps of drums separate from the band. Bandsmen are non combat ie medics
Drummers are combat soldiers

@@gailknight3128 Not to worry! You'd have had many supporters! They are the finest drum corps in the world.
Absolutely fantastic 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Very good, thanks for uploading.
In a class of their own. Brilliant!
Jeesh! You need to have your wits about you to accomplish that routine. These guys cheer me up no end - there's hope for Britain yet...
amazing, as always navy is the best
saw the marines drum and bugle corps when I was four here in pompey after a year of playing drums. that's what got me into marching.

They are professional musicians and not Royal Marine Commandos. They have a wartime role in support of the Royal Marines though.
@@SimsHandleam I right in saying they are trained as battlefield medics?
Yes, amongst other roles too.
What was the occasion

Good to see lessons learnt from Top Secret Drum Corps being taken into action
Lol yeah right🤔🤣🤔
well that was ok i guess! (just kidding the internt goons!)
British ahh beat
Getting a bit American and flamboyant, a bit too American. Careful.
A small copy of the Swiss band Top Secrit 😉
Nothing spectacular, Pipe band drumming far superior and more intricate even in low grade pipe bands.
good thing they aren't a pipe band then.
Fantastic
