Zangief is definitely one of those few characters that would comfortably justify the argument why Akuma is not top 1 even though the recent Singapore Capcom Pro Tour says otherwise.
You know Zangief is overbuffed when the best character specialist can't be bothered to use his grabs, only combos. Gief should be balanced that landing grabs should be the most desired option.
Mind you Gief can barely scratch over 6k damage with full resources, while a couple others can deal 7k and 8k. As for combos, your issue is Drive Rush (since that's the mechanic needed to pull of combos in this game). You can thank Capcom for that..we're just using what we got since you can just hold up and jump away from an SPD. Lol

This Akuma got great Combos!.. the key is avoid gief's grabs like the plague and land those health depleting combos as much as possible.. great match
