High level Ken vs Ryu matches are always hella entertaining. Angry Bird is just built different and Kusanagi keeps impressing me with his Ryu but he needs to be consistent when closing out from an advantage. It was painful how he lost a crucial advantage in the 5th set with nearly over half-life in the 2nd round and recklessly spamming Hashogeki from full screen while AB was still in burnout. 💀
@@Flashback_Jack Because you know that he's playing from a disadvantage with Ryu versus an extremely skilled opponent plus more effective xter. It's the underdog effect. 😅
Ken's run DP has projectile invuln frames. One of angrybird's only ways back into the game at that point was to make a correct read on a fireball from ryu and go into run -> dp to make it through the fireball and then cancel the dp into super level 3. You can see he actually tries to do exactly that, but the spacing is a little too far so angrybird isn't able to cancel into level 3. The reason kusanagi was doing light hashogeki was to bait angry bird into run -> dp so the hashogeki would recover and he could punish angrybird.
@@plunders_ocv As opposed to deliberately closing the distance quickly with Drive Rush and forcing chip damage on blocking in burnout until a hit confirm opens up with little to no risk of an EX-DP thanks to no drive bar on Angry Birds side? It's the little decisions that make death by a thousand cuts in high level play. It was a bait attempt but it clearly snatched him defeat from the jaws of victory. 🤷
Lore battles between Ryu and Ken will never get old, especially when they're played by the pros.

This was only partly entertaining, Got the feeling Kusanagi was just outclassed throughout.
