So glad to see this sport growing. This is the antithesis to the snooze fest of F1 and the like. #rubbinisracing Also, thanks for not hiding all your content behind a paywall or only on cable. Robbie's business sense really shines with this series
Where's the gimmick? It's relatively cheap to get into for a motorsport, there's tons of action on the track and it piggy backs already established series so 5 to 6 figure fan turn outs are already there. It's a great business model, the fans love it and it grows every year.. internationally. All while being available for free on the internet. So again, where's the gimmick ?
Where did I mention anything about F1? F1 is far from my favorite racing to watch. Your assumptions just show what a poser ass race fan you really are. My point was that true fans of motorsport don't have to hate one thing in order to like another thing. You think F1 is a snooze fest? That's fine. I think Stadium Trucks are okay, but mostly just flashy and gimmicky. If you need to see jumps and all kinds of "bumping and banging" in order to enjoy racing, then you're not actually a fan of racing. You just want to see some crazy action and carnage, and that's also fine.
Again, I never said that being gimmicky and exciting was a terrible thing. But of course, it's YT comments, so I suddenly "I hate stadium trucks and I'm the biggest fan of F1" ever (even though I never mentioned it). But you have to admit, SST is pretty gimmicky. Jumps are kind of a gimmick, but I'm willing to grant that they add a meaningful challenge. But that's what rally/rallycross is for. Or hell, motocross. Stadium trucks is like "hey ya'll lets get a beer and see if TRUCKS can do it." It's just a few steps removed from tractor or lawnmower racing. Again, none of this means that I think Stadium Trucks are terrible and shouldn't exist. Or that tractor racing shouldn't exist. I can enjoy watching just about any type of racing, but I get very bored when it becomes a destruction derby and drivers aren't really expected to drive clean.
Check your original comment, you had one sentence and said it was gimmicky. After you say it wasn't a gimmick, you said the jumps are a gimmick as if flying a truck 180 feet 10 feet in the air is a gimmick. Your incredibly dishonest and it was quite easy to point out. Don't say X, then say you didn't say X, only to say it again. I'm going to guess your english, a liberal and over 50. How right was I ?
They do the St pete GP yearly. Waited 2 hours to get in and missed them due to incompetent temp events staff. TORC series does some races in the midwest during the summer if you like traditional short course off road
Yeah the E-break is indeed nice for sliding, but when you watch WRX for example they "race" more with the gearbox (but they dont jump that high there :)
Doubledeepfried lol what? They are manual sequential gearboxes, just like a rally car. I dont think being European is relevant, I think you just don't know anything about transmissions lol.
ua-cam.com/video/si7HqEHE2FQ/v-deo.html I stand corrected (had to search a while), but it sounds like an "manual 3 speed automatic". Perhaps i don't know much about transmissions, but it isnt a sequential-gearbox.
Pretty common in short course off road racing(which this is related to). Bunches the pack back up for more door to door action. It's purely to keep it interesting so no one runs away with it uncontested. Same reason they invert start grids compared to qualifying

Yes, stadium trucks are very flashy and exciting for people who need gimmicks in order to enjoy motorsports.

Thank you
Really wish they had this racing on the east coast

Yes!
Keep em coming..thanks
I wish the races were longer with more jump almost the way the super trucks of the 90s, But I really enjoy what Robby Gordon has given us.
Awesome! 👍👍👍
18:05 red truck misses ramp
Crazy race!
43:40
Nice one.
I love this sport well done 85🍺🇬🇧👍
More entertaining than any f1 race
Need to run this with nascar at wakinsglen and sears point
i find it weird that the same two guys who do the live commentary do this delayed coverage, and they have to act like all of this is new to them...
Oh the humanity!!!!
i wasn't saying it like it's a bad thing, i'm impressed they make it sound fresh even though they've seen it before...i don't know if i could do that.
I thought I was the only one :D
Ahh! Wreckfest trophy track.
Time for a sequential gearbox, bit more race-like

These trucks have sequential gearboxes. Not sure what your point is.
Manual sequential gearboxes, not "just" an automatic. but thats my European thinking i guess :)

Needs more jumps !!

Mandatory caution?! For what?
