Robert elms can now be found on BBC Radio London Friday to Sunday 10am / 2pm on 94.9fm in London also DAB and anywhere else on the BBC Sounds app . a great radio show well worth tuning in ..📻🎶⭐️
What Mr Deeds said was spot on , my nan was his house keeper many happy a time as a lad at the house , Nick the school teacher was a great guy a man with a firm but fair way of teaching but his wife was a lady you did not mess with In her class .
Wonderful to see the old Town as it was, When they moved the Market out of town they ripped the heart out of the town, The Ring Road Or “Belt”was a major mistake it was built back when the local council were known as the forty thieves that’ll tell you something of how and why it was built in that particular way, They even demolished the only Pub with a clock tower The Duke of Marlborough to make way for it a crime if ever there was one, It was good to see Nick Fysh again he was my Teacher at The North School for Boys (as it was known then) way back in the 70’s I wonder what happened to him as he was the only half way decent teacher there who treated you as a human being, And yes I used to work on that farm (without girls) too and the farm during break times was a great place for a crafty smoke too lol!, I’ve seen Ashford via pictures online now and I hardly recognise it now but I still look back on the old place with a bit of fondness and no matter where I am I’m still an Ashfordian and a Man of Kent.
Wow so much has changed since. I was born in 1999 at the William Harvey and still live here. Really interesting to see what it was like. Would be cool to see an updated one of today
I've just found this...a bygone age sadly. Well done Mr Elms for doing this xx

International Station - yes, via London. We no longer have breaks in Villeneuve thanks to intercontinental trains NOT stopping in Ashford!
