Thank you for such an informative video that highlighted Luminaire XP1. Purchased just before we went into lock down and recently purchased Upgrade Kit.
I am/was very excited to see this video because a different a Brother sewing educator did a demo in the store and I tried to video it. Didn't come out so good, lighting was not the best. Now here you are doing the same thing she did. I tell you Brother, You tube and cookies are awesome. Again I thank you for helping my to look more forward to getting my new machine.
Haven't gotten my Luminaire as of today. However, it's coming very soon. This video has been very informative. Looking forward to knowing the cost of the printed Manuel. I'm so excited. Thank you for taking the time to do this.
Hi Marguerite - you will love your new machine! When we filmed this there wasn't a manual in the Luminaire, but the new version has one so there is no need to buy a printed manual. Enjoy creating!
Many thanks for making this video. I am in the UK and only just got my Brother Luminaire XP1 Machine. This will help me a lot. I am going to watch this over again when I can. I hope you will be doing some more videos when you can. I have purchased both Upgrade Kits 1 and 2 which my dealer kindly installed for me. I am really excited to learn about all that the machine can do. Thank you again x
Did you make the Disney Quilt behind you on the Luminaire..? I would like to make one. It's beautiful..Just got my Luminaire a few weeks ago.. I'm a Newbie so a little late to the party..Have upgrades 1 and 2..Still have my Dream Machine though..Thanks for the video..
My next dream. Waiting impatiently. My SE600 is Amazing. Brother is the Best. It's the Greatest gift from my Son who is living in San Francisco. I'm enjoying every minute . Greetings from Sri.Lanka.
Hi Tana, thank you for your comment. What section of the video did you want to see the screen for? Perhaps we have another video that can help you out :)
I saw a video where a man took a collection of thread and formed a small bundle. Then he used a zigzag stitch to collect them together into a make shift cord of sorts to used as his base in a flower design. It made the couching a bit more challenging, but this guy was no rookie at sewing for sure.
Brilliant machine Am dreaming of one now😂. Best is I love the way you explain everything God willing when I do get mine I shall be looking forward to learning more from your video. I think in all my research of videos on these machines, I must tip my hat off to you folks! These have been the best. Silly question! Is this the very latest one in the brother series? ( sewing and embroidery) Well done and thanks 😊
@kadenmoore7918 Thank you for your message. They are great videos to learn more about our machines. This the previous upgrade as there is the Luminaire 3 (or previous Luminaires 1 and 2 with the upgrades): ua-cam.com/video/rZNbvNEsuCQ/v-deo.html
We suggest ensuring that you are using the appropriate stabilizer for your fabric and that your hoop is securely fastened with the screw tightened. Some fabrics may not be suitable for hooping and might need to be floated or basted onto the stabilizer. If you need more personalized advice, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly.
Thanks for a great video. I have a question - Can you “free arm” hoop a T shirt onto this machine, like in the Bernina 790e plus? So that the back of the T shirt/onesie is below the bed of the machine and therefore we cannot accidentally sew through multiple layers…
No you can not free-arm hoop a t-shirt, but you can still embroider a t-shirt. You will just have to maneuver the fabric out of the way. Another option is the PRS100 machine which does have the free arm.
No there is no upgrade kit for the Stellaire. There are updates for the machine available and you can check here to see if your machine is up to date: www.echidnasewing.com.au/page/support/brother-machine-updates/
Colour designs scanned in can only have a maximum of 10 thread colours. Simpler designs will work better. Here is a video which you will be able to watch as it is basically the same steps but you choose Illustration Design: ua-cam.com/video/-cCgFMjnTBw/v-deo.html
I saved a pattern to machine and I have a partially finished embroidery piece. I want to retrieve and continue work on my piece at the next thread color piece. I can select the color and pattern needed shows on the screen but get the message I need to complete edit. So when I finish edit, the fist thread area at the beginning is on the screen, not the color pattern needed next. How can I finish the partially completed work.
What is the difference between the luminaire2 and the stellaire xe1. I have been given the opportunity to purchase a luminaire with the 2upgrades for £10k . What do you think?
Hello! The luminaire2 has a camera, projector and scanner plus a whole lot more. Perhaps check with a local retailer in the UK for pricing, it isn't comparable with Australian pricing sorry.
Hi Lynette thanks for your comment. When this video was made we assumed there were no manuals with this model. There are machine manuals that are included with the machine so we didn't need to include manuals. Are you based in Australia?
Jacquelyn Mrgan here is the link for the upgrade.www.echidnasewing.com.au/brother-luminaire-upgrade-premium-pack-ii If you are in Australia you can contact us directly regarding purchasing the printed manual our number is

Alma Collum are trying to do free motion quilting? If so there is an icon to the top RH side of the screen with a pencil under the House icon. Select this then select the upside down C icon. This will drop the feed dogs for free motion quilting.
When you purchased your machine, there is a manual with it. If you have to get another copy you can get it from the Brother website: support.brother.com/g/b/manualtop.aspx?c=us_ot&lang=en&prod=hf_inovxp2eus
Hi Laurie, the Luminaire is the top model for Brother, and the Epic is the top model for Husqvarna. There are a number of pro's that would be too long to write in a UA-cam comment, are you able to call us and talk to Alec on 1800 000 360? Alternatively we can call you?
I'm not a supporter of Disney after i have seen all the paedophile subliminal messages in their films aimed at young children (all can be seen on youtube too) although I'm a lover of Brother machines, so looking for one without Disney but with a large embroidery area, such a shame Brother has teamed up with disney..
Hi Mary, we can't comment on Disney however we can suggest some Brother models that do not feature Disney designs. These include the Essence VE2300 or the PR670 and PR1055. All can be seen on our website www.echidnasewing.com.au - Hope this helps.
I am in Italy, so no chance to be your customer, but I love to watch Gary's videos about Brother: no doubt they are the best all over the world
@staredsky Thank you for watching our videos! We love hearing where people are from and we hope you enjoy our future videos too :)

Wish the camera would stay more on the design screen instead of the presser foot so we could see what to punch
Hi Tana, thank you for your comment. What section of the video did you want to see the screen for? Perhaps we have another video that can help you out :)
Very informative. Even though I’m in Perth WA, if I ever buy one I would definitely get one from you.
Maybe one day! It's a pretty amazing machine!
I saw a video where a man took a collection of thread and formed a small bundle. Then he used a zigzag stitch to collect them together into a make shift cord of sorts to used as his base in a flower design. It made the couching a bit more challenging, but this guy was no rookie at sewing for sure.
Thanks for the information!
You can use the extra thread to sew button on clothes or craft projects. So no waste.
Thank you for your wonderful tip!

Anca Visan the weight of the machine with the embroidery unit on is around 25kg, without the embroidery unit would be 20kg.
You do great videos Thank You

Brother is very user friendly. Love my luminaire upgrade 3. Love to see if anyone has stitched the feather weight sewing machine yet?
Thanks for your feedback Colleen. Yes we have seen it stitched out and it turns out great :)

Do the Brother machines have different plugs and voltage depending what country you are in? I am in US can I use out of the box without converter ?
Hi Susan, yes the voltage and plugs are different between Australia and the US. You would need a converter.

Is the Luminaire and Husqvarna Viking Epic2 the same level type machine? I am searching for pros and cons for both machines.

I wish they would make the Disney optional. I don't have kids and if you can't sell anything with Disney on it than it seems like a waste.
Hello! Thank you for your feedback, we will pass it on to Brother.
