Very clearly and succinctly explained. I was recently found to have 2 DVTs in my left calf, one in the Peroneal, the other in the PTV despite only scoring 1 on the Wells test and 2 on the D-dimer but fortunately the hospital team saw fit to do an ultrasound scan which revealed both. They called mine unprovoked as I don't fall into any of the risk categories. Am now on Apixaban for at least 6 months and am walking for up to an hour a day as well as doing exercises advised by other online physios. Your video has been most helpful in increasing my understanding, thank you.
Very informative video; causes-sign symptoms-diagnosis-W.Scores-differential diagnosis-tests-treatmens-preventive measures etc have been discussed nicely; thanks a lot..
I'm considering a chin surgery,my chin/jaw is damaged and getting worse. I'm wanting augmentation/mandable reconstruction. But I'm scared of DVT what are the odds?
I have swelling above my knee in my thigh. Nothing below my knee and no pain really. I did do leg day at the gym last week and did the stair master yesterday, could i have strained something?
If you are concerned I would definitely ensure that you see a Dr or physio about this as there are many things that can cause sensation changes in the legs
@@ClinicalPhysio It happened to someone I know . Thank goodness the clot in the leg was removed - hence the person is still alive but on anticoagulant at present . But there could be residual clots and non-fatal PEs in the lungs . I am wondering given the higher clot burden - whether or not a helping hand should be given to help remove any other residual clot ( DVT , superficial below the skin and PE ) .
@@ClinicalPhysio I am worried about clots especially given the fact that the person received the BionTech mRNA spike protein vaccine . The spike protein Pfizer vaccine is in the news for funny things - white fibrous clots etc , and frameshift products due to the chemically modified mRNAs in the BionTech vaccine .

Can a dvt can cause loss of sensation? Some small part of my both calves had loss of sensation for half a year now. No pain, no redness, or swelling.
If you are concerned I would definitely ensure that you see a Dr or physio about this as there are many things that can cause sensation changes in the legs
Can an ultrasound miss a small clot ?
I’m wondering if your question is because this happened to you or someone you know? If so I’m sorry to hear it and I hope you are doing ok 🙏🏼

@@ClinicalPhysio Hence microclots can be a big problem .
