I've noticed, we can fit a tiny dual 4k camera on a super thin phone...
But can't get a decent webcam on a laptop.
We haven't even got an adaptive sensor on a laptop since 2014.
because laptop focus more on other specs like cpu and gpu.. yes they can put 4k camera inside laptop. but the price will be damn high..
@@NazimZaki No-ones asking for a 4k camera, we just want a decent webcam

Competing to make the thinnest laptops like competing to create the best laptop that could last the longest in a washing machine. No none wants that, is interested, cares or ever will make use of it.
Heres an idea build a laptop with those same specifications and shove a much bigger battery in there and a bigger case. I'm talking about a laptop that would last a whole week or dare I say it a month with those ultra thin low power chips? People would want to buy that.
One day Apple would make a laptop so thin it would literally be a piece of paper in 2050 and I still wouldn't give a hoot.
+Brett Weerasooriya I chuckled at your analogy - LS
Hi Linus!
+Brett Weerasooriya A thicker laptop is a heavier laptop, and people still need to carry those around. A lighter laptop is a more portable laptop. There's definitely demand for that.
I’ve never wanted my laptop to be super thick, but this is outrageous. My math textbook could snap that thing in two
Get a pdf of the math book ;)
That would still snap it in two. Or at least overheat it to where it melts back to its original natural form
Nice
Thin is nice, but at this level, we've hit diminishing returns. I'd rather have more USB ports than 1 mm shaved off.
"@Apple"
They will be so thin one day, that the laptop will be 2 dimensional.
It'll literally need an atom processor because of how thin it is.
+CaveManta an atom is still in the 3rd dimension
powerplayer75 Okay, you got me. How about, "Blue skadooed, we can, too!" Technology.
Or just use photons, I guess.
powerplayer75 who said it would be made of matter at all?
I cant wait when we can build at 5 nm machines
One day we'll have laptops so thin that they'll phase out of existence. It'll be great.
Kuro Usagi one day we'll have notebooks as thin as me
negative thin, -1 mm
kinda like a black hole-laptop
+Mike Wang It is Penis...not PCS
we will have laptops ground down to a single atom which snap the moment you look in their general direction.
I have ten of those but I cant find them for some reason
my cousin wanted a laptop for his birthday, so i give him two sheets of paper draw a screen and a keyboard on it. when i give it to him i said it is an acer swift 7.

NO Question, a THICKER device with a MUCH LARGER battery is a FOR SURE, I never understood this must be the thinnest bullshit.
Plus the thicker ones are easier to work on
I like my electronics THICC and durable.
DanielRichards644 for being portable
I dont understand why u need 3 day battery life on laptop for making laptop anoying to carry long trips or often
Most people will charge their laptop every night and not many people use laptops for extented periods of time anyway and they are portable computers into forst place so if they are too heavy or thick to carry every where u need to make it pointless
well.. i think the main reason why ppl dont use laptops for an extender period of time is... well cus the battery is shit and so they dont really have the option
DanielRichards644 same
we don't need thinner laptops. Just stop already!
We need cheaper more powerful laptops.
same with phones
ur funckin a right
after a certain point it just doesn't matter
At this rate few years later paperbooks are gonna be a thing
We need a pci-level universal connector and for port replicators to make a comeback
these days, PC Companies that used to be known as "low end" now make pretty high quality products, for example HP, with their Spectre, Dell, with their XPS model lineup, and Acer with the Predator series and Swift 7.
I want it T H I C C
Lol me too
Acer Nitro 5 is for you
yes
tawrtgasdfgWDfgDfg
@Pranav M that, too
make it a bit thicker but make the bezels thinner....
so basically copy what the industry does for smart phone right?
no, they try to make smartphones thinner and bezels smaller
Asshai by the Shadow agreed...
Yeah, this blows my mind. I don't care how thin it is if the bezels are like any other monitor from the mid 2000s. So annoying.
xps
a laptop with 2 or 3 times that thickness but with a battery capable of 2 days of work would be great
well, professional grade laptops do focus on that, but are a tad expensive.
Isn't the HP Specter or that acer a bit expensive ?
That would've been great for gaming.
Not when comparing to the professional business models.
+Not Legato I don't think I've ever heard of a laptop that can go literal days, somewhere around 12h of actual use seems to be the maximum manufacturers build for
Where have "normal" laptops gone? With proper I/O and such? Why do we _have_ to go ever thinner? I would like a laptop with near-desktop performance... I don't mind a few extra pounds (of weight) for gaining this. Also, the space required for it would allow the inclusion of _wired_ ethernet. I'm not a huge fan of WiFi and never will be. It's great on phones and tablets, but whenever the option's there, I prefer wired connections. That seems to become ever more of a dream, though, with the notebooks that are being put to market...
Back in the day, I owned a Toshiba Satellite 4600 CDS. A splendid laptop with an optical drive AND a 3,5" FDD built in, a positive ton of RAM (for the age at least), DEDICATED graphics and sound, and a modem and Ethernet port. Oh yeah, and I forgot the 802.11a/b/g WiFi (N wasn't conceived back then). Also, it had a PCMCIA slot to allow for expansion, which I have used to _get it to work with 802.11n_ in the final years of its life.
Now *THAT'S* what I would call a laptop. The need for optical or even physical storage may be on a decline, and I surely wouldn't _demand_ it back, but as for most of the other hardware that I listed, I surely would love a laptop with components like those in there. Obviously, PCMCIA had long since been replaced by PCI Express cards, but anyway... you don't even see _those_ on most any laptop out there any more. A real shame if you ask me... Why in the world does everything have to be USB? Even though we have much more powerful processors nowadays, USB still does use more processing power than PCIe does... And even at its current 10gbps _theoretical_ maximum, it most certainly isn't the fastest option out there, with Thunderbolt 3 beating it five-fold...
I truly feel like these (ultra) thin laptops of present are more like glorified tablets (if you can call the addition of a keyboard a reason for calling it such, that is)...
I thought Apple was the only one being obsessed by wanting to go ever thinner, yet it seems this virus has gone on and contaminated the entire industry...
It's not AS BAD as you say. Jeez.
Just a few days ago I ordered a Lenovo V330-14.
Such thin and bare laptops are very rare.
@@BichaelStevens yes.
laptops like that still exist and there are actually many of them out there, but you gotta look at the gaming laptop segment. In that segment, the race IS to make the laptop as PC-like as possible.
Don’t know if you still care but the new razor laptop has Ethernet, desktop like specs and still thin
slashtiger1 the laptops you‘re talking about still exist even acer does them in a big style.you don‘t get the point of this laptop with lte it‘s clearly for people traveling a lot...
I'm mad about your UA-cam channel with amazing English accent and perfectly explain about any gadget ...wish the best bro :)
I'd be down for a 2-3day or even a week long battery life in a media consumption laptop.
DanielWGK There are Options... For example my Probook 6475b which is currently equipped with a 55Wh Battery manages around 5-6 Hours of normal use (with optimized Settings). There are even bigger Battery avaible for it (i think 87 or 100Wh was the biggest one). Also you can add a second battery to the bottom of it, there also is a 100Wh model. This will give you a very fat Notebook but extreme battery lifetimes (around 20 hours possible). Also there are some Thinkpads that can be equipped with a second battery, giving them very long battery life. Not the most beatiful way but it works very good.
DanielWGK why would you need that? Just plug it in once a day....
Mike Peretz If it is about gaming. The bigger battery is the way to go. Otherwise you would make a point.
Gaming laptops last for a few hours at most when playing a heavy game
It should be plugged in regardless. Plus, plugging it in provides more power anyway.
Lets not forget too that this computer is not for gaming...
Lets not dismiss integrated Intel cards, though. The new ones are p lit. I can play skyrim with 100+ mods on high with the 3 year old iris 5100 in my 3 pound Asus ultrabook
make them thinner and people will get paper cuts
Speechrezz I want to shave with my Razer Blade!
*first comment that actually made me smile*
Speechrezz Cause of death: *Slit wrists by a laptop* LOL
You wanted to say Laptop cut? :D
watching cringy content with thin laptops is hard, as it will be hard to resist slitting your wrists
the laptop looks like it's already falling apart
1,3k€ are you kidding me?
Yeah. That's more pricey than even the insanely expensive iPhone X!
Rupert C u cant compare laptop to a phone
I only compared it in price. My mobile phone cost 70€ and it serves me just fine for texting and phoning. The iPhone X can probably do those things just as well.
Rupert C I haven't called someone in months.
Rupert C I need something with a 2K or atleast Apple optimized 1080p(believe it or not they have the best color optimization in the smartphone industry even though they use Samsung Displays) making it look like 2K or even 4K.
i would 100% buy a 2 day battery laptop
My Asus UX305CA gets me 1,5 or maybe 2 school days, or an entire (normal) day. Awesome battery life on the Intel m-line cpu's. And performance is great for most things
7:30 ... TY, @acer @asus @hp @dell @msi LISTen
I have an UX305CA too, can confirm!
thanks guys, im considering buying it. the 2015 model is only $500, seems like a steal.
I've got the Skylake version (m3-6Y30), make sure to get one with Skylake, otherwise, you get a much lower performance
Twice as thick with twice the battery and performance capabilities would be a godsend to us all.
thats what she said
Tide Bleach xd
and it would still be light weight
There is a 100 watt limit for flight reasons. This limits how much battery power can be in a single device, otherwise it requires a hazardous materials process that an average passenger isn't going to do.
Deno M if I remember, I'll check the DGR, I have the 57th one at the office (work for an Intl carrier). Unfortunately I don't remember the limit even being Cat. 6 IATA licensed.
Given how battery life depreciates over time, having a two day charge could also be thought of as a future proof measure though.
Is it just me or is the intro animation awesome, I love the music
Funny how apple couldn't fit that many ports on macbook.
finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Red_XIII
Yeah Apple suck. They can't even make the MacBook as flexible as the Acer either! I could fold the Acer up and put it in my pocket, but with a MacBook I'd have to carry it around in a backpack. Bad Apple!
hmm the sarcastic smell is strong in this comment thread 😁
Mike Scott so than dont buy it who cares if you hate apple
Actually they did...
if you guys could just make it thinner so i could just slide it in my paper shredder, I'd buy it.
That Guy its already pretty effective at sliding into the DMs :P
I really like how the more recent HP Spectre X360 (I know that one he mentioned was just the regular model) actually became thicker to provide a larger battery for longer battery life. Having something be thin is nice, but there comes a point where it would actually be more comfortable and more beneficial over all to just make it a bit thicker for things like a larger battery.
4:05 what are you even typing XD
I've definitely seen worse Webcams
Apple is not that bad, what is bad is just the camera quality.
I mean you can run Windows or Linux on a Macbook so you have full access to all your favorite games.
Intel's integrated graphics have come a long way.
If you need more power, you could go with a Pro model and get one that has a graphics chip. Yeah, they're a bit more expensive than a gaming computer, but they're made for productivity than gaming.
But definitely don't buy a Macbook air +craZeGames, especially since they were just replaced by the 12" Macbook. And the new 13" Macbook is better at a similar size and weight.
+MrSparkzz: No, just no... Even their dGPU equipped MBP's have lousy 3d performance. A 1060 will run rings around it and that's the mediocre range for PC gaming laptops.
aidanjt Okay. Never said anything about high end graphics. Just said that you CAN game on a Macbook.
MrSparkzz Sure, kinda like how you can game on a smartphone. Technically true, just.. not particularly pleasant.
These thin laptops are _ass._
But before the peanut gallery asks me why one of their nuts are saying this, let's understand something: If you spent thousands of dollars on any piece of kit, *it should not fold like a beverage can.*
Seriously, if a child used this for college, eventually the laptop will end up so bent from abuse inside the bag it'll hardly make it a year. People are forgetful, so if the laptop is at the bottom of the bag, placing stuff on top of it that is heavy will cause *PERMANENT DAMAGE* to the notebook. I don't care about the extra weight if it was a solid piece of metal, or even plastic-strengthened metal; at the moment I am using a nice, chunky laptop that will probably outlive me if I continue to take good care of it.
I want a thicker laptop that gives me a couple day's worth of battery. If i have to pay an excessive premium for the batteries, that's _fine_, so long they actually work. It's a shame manufacturers are calling this premium when it's no better than a few disposable pans with a keyboard and display.
These ultra-thins are like, the barbies of computing, with emotions to match. High-maintenance, fragile and underachieving. If a manufacturer executive ever reads this, #stopanorexia with our day-to-day computers please!
I guess MSI laptops are chronically obese?
bluephreakr you forgot the touch pad.. just saying
Do you not have a laptop pocket in your bag?
You put more effort into this post than i did with any of my exams.
Why aren't you putting your laptop in your backpack vertically then?
Awesome review thanks for the info. Subscribed. 👍
I was going to get this laptop awhile ago but not being to upgrade was a deal breaker for me!
at some point, being too thin would be a disadvantage, no?
PiZzA ZiZa they already have on some new laptops, heck the new mac only has USB-C

+PiZzA ZiZa damn i never realize that i always lost that haha
I guess yes. It looks so fragile and the heat. I mean, lots of component strained into a little space. Where would the heat go?
My experience with 5 Acer products is pretty bad...
I wont touch that flimsy looking crap with 10 ft pole
Why are companies trying to make the thinnest laptops damn it, it's decreasing performance and increasing price. Besides very thin laptops aren't durable.
" Besides very thin laptops aren't durable." If someone was smacking you on the head with them for this statement all day long, I would agree. :)
The use of such ultra-thin subnotebooks is not about having the beefiest specs.
Sputnik, I agree. This kind of thing gives me the impression that company shareholders won't be satisfied with the thickness of the product until you can chop vegetables with the damn thing...
If such thin device were to be dropped "which will happen" it'll damage the inner parts and if not break the outer part.
Most companies will still use U processors for its great power usage. So, yeah... performance wouldn't increase that much on ultrabooks. Most people that use ultra thin notebooks don't do very intensive activities on them anyway. Increased batteries would be great!
Sputnik Its a pissing contest
thinner it is, worse the keyboard. Might as well get a tablet. Whats the point of thin?
Some people like chicklet keys
@@wormdude5320 but a tablet is more convenient..

@david santoso
It depends what you need to do
It's not heavy... that's a plus to me, I'm weak hehe
In 2018 I am writing this on a Toshiba M780 which while much thicker still beats the Cinebench score, is a true tablet with pen, has a docking station, all the ports and even DVD / Second HDD / second battery slot. It is also much more rugged, has fingerprint reader with fast HDD encryption. Furthermore you can find these for less than $150. So Linus should do a review of old laptops over new ones for cost. Pretty sad when this 8 year old laptop still outperforms many new ones which cost much more.
A delightful surprise and very impressive, although I think I'm willing to wait a few months for the contact lens version with telepathic I/O and biologic power supply.
im with you brother

"In a worrisome manner" :P
I cringed at 1:49 honestly lol
The actual definition of cringe is not just cringing at cancerous stuff but also when you build up anxiety in fear of something bad would happen.
Linus love ya love your videos but you made a oopsy in this one. The 4.5w i5-7y54 is not a U series processor it is a Y series processor. An example of a U series processor would be the 15w i5-7200u. Big fan keep up the good work 👍
as someone who is frantically looking for a decent looking and specced Y series laptop, I thank you!
i bought a acer swift 1 today. my old laptop died and i needed something to write notes and such in school. its still the first day of ussage and after 5 hours of setting up getting windows updated and watching a few videos im now at 55% battery.. amazing compared to my old laptop that while being more powerfull only managed 2-3 hours with this kind of ussage
I like sexy looking tech, but this goes clearly too far. If I had to choose between thickness and battery life, I'd take the battery. Same goes for mobile phones: 1cm thickness is just fine, I don't NEED something below that!
Incrazyboyy then buy a MacBook
Matt Harpur kek
Matt Harpur what does that have to do with anything?
That last thing was what she said
Incrazyboyy battery comes with different size and mAh but they perform similar function..it's depends on the manufacturer if they want to design it to be thin (like the video) for specific consumer or thick (increase the capacity battery that maybe it can become the back cover itself)..overall they want to show how compact and small their technology can be created
we're gonna go back to paper at this rate
i think to many people do not know how to write using a pencil and paper for that but the thinnest a bar / barton shaped computer is a thing both the screen keyboard and mouse are done by lasers ... to expensive to sell
dude, what?
Someone needs to bring back a truly tiny solution. I still miss my old Sony Vaio P - Tiny enough to fit in the inside jacket pocket of my suit (without ruining the lines - too much) but with enough power to easily actually work on, I used to write documentation and even produce PowerPoint on it. I did test it with some mid-weight spreadsheets as well and it just about coped. Nothing comes close these days though. Ultrabooks are great, but they're still huge by comparison.
I happened to really like the LG gram. Ungodly light, i even use it as a frisby when i loose my own.

bought one of these this week, is thin alone the deal, no but priced at $700 with size/perf/convertable use, it was just what was needed.
I felt Mac Book Pro 13 inch 2016 (previous model) was in a sweet spot regarding battery backup, weight, power equation. But well they scr3wd it with this year model. It is nice to see pretty thin laptops coming up like swift 7 where you can walk into client meetings without looking like a disruption to conversaion when you take a note or quickly show them a slide or two. And good to carry in a small pouch. as they don't need a full blown backpack. But if they kill battery backup, power, ports for the same then it's of no use.

I don't think a $70 difference puts the spectre and the swift at different price points
Benjamin Columbus me too
Exactly!!!! He's like: "On the other hand if you want to save some money..." If you are beyond the 1000$ mark. 70$ don't matter
Back in 2014 I tripped and fell on my asus zenbook ux31 and bent it pretty good down the middle. I unbent it with my hands, bought a new display for it and it still works fine. Thin laptops still scare me as a result of that though...
I love thinner ones but would, have felt the nailed if it had a full built in thunder bolt 3 support.
That said I do prefer thinness to extra battery in this type of unit as I can always get a wallet sized external for it an nearly double battery life and choose only to carry it when I want to.
Why would you want a notebook that thin? There's so many downsides. Are people's bags really so sore for space it's impossible for them to use a normal laptop?
MCBackDraft1 I know, right,? It’s really stupid how they think being thinner will help anything.
Some are...
Actually, yes
It's not heavy so that's a plus
Also some walk around with quiet a few books so saving weight matters
Give me battery longetivity over thinness any day of the week.
:) This baby is lasting for three days without recharge, what do you need more!?
I don't mind of thinness or thickness if it beats every laptop in the battery segment. even though I don't need a bigger battery since I'm not taking it anywhere out from my home.
That Intro !
Great Review ;)
I would take 2 3 days battery any day. I don't mind a couple of millimetres more on my machines if they last two to three days.
There has to be a point we're we don't care about thinness anymore! this game is just a joke, just work on performance not size please
↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑
tell that to apple.
You won't get better performance if you don't put down more money. Sadly none of the current laptop manufacturers are willing to downprice their higher performance products simply because they are still selling them.
The phase 'potato quality of the webcam' killed me .. so funny!!!!!
The only thing I do on my laptop is typing in documents and browsing the web, so I don't need spectacular power.
I'm also really a sucker for design, so the gold colour and the thinness, really appeal to me.
So basically its using a crappy tablet style cpu. Bit of a downgrade really.
Eh it works for video playback and moderate spreadsheets. You can't edit video, defeating the purpose of a usb c port for local scratch disks....
But it's thin! Oooh!
You're really underestimating the current set of tablet CPUs... short of video editing or 3D-rendering they can do pretty much anything you could want. That's around 99% of all use-cases for a laptop without dedicated GPU covered.
Steamrick
Yeah just much much slower. I have a windows tablet with a quad core z3735 cpu and the one in this acer swift isnt that much faster. Granted it does small tasks but anything that tasks the cpu takes a lot longer than my laptop or desktop like extracting a rar file for example. These cpus belong in tablets not laptops.
The i5-7Y54 is MUCH MUCH faster than the Atom z3735. Like between 3 and 4 times faster. It's not even a fair comparison (Tho to be fair it also costs over 10x as much according to Intel ARK).
www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Atom+Z3735E+%40+1.33GHz

its too thin when it doesnt have ports
I completely agree, increase the thickness and stuff battery capacity into it as you go
what would worry me even more than battery live on this thing is the connectivity in terms of different ports and the structural integrity of this thing.
I carried around a 7-pound laptop for three years in high school. I would so much rather have a heavier, thicker laptop that has a huge battery than an ultra thin. But I also happen to be a fan of brick-like computers, having bought multiple IBM ThinkPads as beater computers, and I now carry two laptops with me, so I wouldn't really consider myself an average consumer anymore.
this Intel "i5", which btw is just a rebadged m5, just fucking piss me off for $1k
yeah all those laptops being marketed with i5 or i7 is a sham, the vast majority are i5u or i7u and doesn't perform anything other then basic tasks. as lots of people has mentioned, try competing in something that matters like performance/weight ratio (watch apple remove the battery to save weight because you can use your iPhone as the battery)
svampebob007 seriously its a shame to fool people like this..
People always fool people when it comes to tech. They advertise drives by counting in 1000s instead of 1024s (more gigabytes per byte) and download speed in bits instead of bytes (download 8x more bits per second than bytes) sneaking an m next to a gpu or u next to a cpu is something the majority of people who don't know tech knows nothing about, so they think they're getting an i7, and they're told i7's are the best.It sucks but because every company does it equally then they're technically not ripped off, because the alternative would be the same money/performance ratio
school idols are life
Nowaaru Yeah too bad we've dropped out of highschool.. Now these Aqours walkings memes are taking over us urgh
Linus, your tech tips help me A LOT.
Or *would* help me because I'm only 13 but understand all this stuff u thro at me.
I'll probably be able to use this thin laptop as a fan when the weather's hot.
You have a point, these laptops look nice but being that thin makes then difficult to fix, easier to overheat. Hurt battery times, keyboard quality , and general durability. It also seems like it forces them to have fewer ports. But who cares as long as it is "sexy"right.
NO MacBook have a shit keyboard. Every button is like the home-button on the iPhone 7 or 8
Zoomed in mugshot as profile picture.
I prefer the light weight, don't care to much about the thickness.

Please give me twice the battery life, I have to bring my charger everywhere with me, what's the point of the laptop being thin, if I have to carry a huge heavy charger?
:D
Well, a 4.5W machine could essentially be powered by a phone charger, but i know the struggle and actually agree with your point
3 days of Battery would be great for Students, especially since most older schools don't have many if any Outlets to plug in, not to mention carrying around a power brick is a pain in the ass.
I have the other version of this laptop with touchscreen, backlit keys and built-in LTE and love it, the thinness is incredible, even Apple can't beat it. That said, I wouldn't mind it being twice as thick if it meant battery lasted 3x as long which should be easily possible considering the battery only takes up about 30% of the laptop now and 2x as thick means extra thickness would be 100% battery.
I think 99% of your audience would prefer thicker laptops (and smartphones) with bigger batteries.
the thin trend is just killing usability. iphone 7's audio jack, macbook pro losing all the ports, battery life. Like he said, just feels like a pissing contest between the companies
be like me.
buy a netbook. add in 12 more 18650 cells to the battery all janky like.
battery fo dayz
The fun thing is that the iPhone 6 is even thinner than the 7
Nicholas Fulton Well, of course. I'll gladly have that, but that's another matter. I would like companies to hold size constant while improving the technology and thus the capacity of batteries. What they are doing now is improving the technology while decreasing size, holding the capacity constant (more or less), which is something I despise.
LovelyProductions I would like to see a company that goes in the opposite direction.
almost all devices are too thin. Thin = fragile. thin = smaller battery. Thin = hard to hold. thin = gimmick. they reached the ideal thickness of phones about 3 years ago. laptops were fine until recently with all these ultra thin and lights.
thank you!!
larger batteries mean more mass at the same velocity on impact when dropped means more energy to absorb by things like LCDs and digitizer panels. That said, I would still prefer a bit more battery.
Curtis Grice That has more to do with device construction than anything. I was referring more so to bending type scenarios.
Well I do like a flexible device! Haha 😎
Curtis Grice Be careful over their don't bend it too far and snap it.
Been saying the same thing about phones getting thinner thinner and losing out on battery life potential
I like laptops getting thinner, I'm using my retina MacBook and loving how thin it is, I can just put it in my bag and its the size of a sheet of paper and as thin as my phone making it extremely portable.
"Hey, mom grounded me, can you slip your laptop under the door for me?"
soo they will be thin as a paper and they will bend like paper
Actually, in the future, they will. Thanks to OLED displays!
Displays will be a thing of the past in the future.
Jefferson Hall Woah.. @.@ You mean, like, displaying via direct optic nerve stimulation?
but will there ever be flexible CPUs?
A flexible screen is a simple concept, but a flexible CPU, that takes it to a whole new level.
james wasda Honestly, I believe that after die shrinks become impossible with modern electron-based CPU technology, CPUs will become thicker, increasing the internal volume of transistors while establishing better communication links between the transistors at the same time. It will be similar to 3D NAND technology. This will actually allow them to take up less space overall, but they will be thick.
I have the spectre always hinge problems and heat but its awesome lol
Did somebody notice the “hole” on the down cover? Seems that it was already pinched or hit.
I don't like Acer. Done.
That was easy.
well that escalated quickly
ABHFJFNEJDJCIWKLSBC
I am opposite.
Fight me in election. Potatoe!
I hate HP more.
did anybody notice the alien head like picture on the headset output?😂😂😂
👽 So that's the target audience for this thing.
LOL this comment literaly made my evening :D
I mean............ it's a headset logo.
You're not alone. I saw it too.
it was financed by the bilderberg group and distributed by the illuminati for the globalist elites alien takeover. Where's alex Jones when you need him? Meet me at the Denver airport if you want to discuss this more
Honestly, having a battery that last days, but having a twice as thick laptop may be a really good sell to travelers if the added weight isn't inconvenient in a backpack. Or maybe compromise and sell a model with and upgraded batter that sticks out a bit, acting like a rear prop or legs for the laptop may go over well too.
Legend has it any thinner you'll get a papercut
Well, thick is fine. But Heavy isn't.
agreed. i don't want it to be cumbersome, but i'd definitely trade thinness for battery life.
thats what she said
Nishchal Sadaram or u could just suck it up and go to the gym. if a kilo is to heavy..... U have other things to worry about, such as blowing away in a small puppies sneeze
Justin, maybe i dont want to. I'll stick to lightweight laptops thank you very much
Justin McMullen You're existence proves the saying about how you can only have physical strength or mental strength but not both.
meh, make em thicker with more power and make em cheaper. its not worth paying extra for it being slim.
Weight matters, sort of, but oddly enough he didn't mention it. But yeah, let's hope this trend dies out sooner rather than later.
Things you can say about your laptop, but not your girlfriend :P
nah, it still isn't worth paying extra for her being slim.
For some people it's worth it.
and you think manufacturing is for free? I mean go make your own laptop for 300 dollars instead of 900. Think about building a PC. Yes if you build yours is going to be cheaper but with how much? 10-15%. Now see if it worths to build a laptop for 10-15%. Every part is expensive too not only the assembled product.
Well sure they've nailed it when it comes the that 4 W processor which doesn't heat, gives a good battery life + good performance (relatively) and that sexy appearance too. However, As you said I would be more interested if someone sacrificed the a little bit of a thickness to give a laptop that lasted 1 day+ (practically not on paper).
Thx for another great video....(y)
i was wondering if u could make the intro music more easy on the ear. the tune is fine but it really jars me to the nuts.
What's next? Alienware GhostBook? - "It's so thin it actually doesn't exist, you have to imagine it - only for $1500!!"
I wouldn't mind a brick thick laptop, I need that battery life!
no pain no gain, you will get used to it
vidyaWolf Already wearing bricks man!
Jetty Tech that's why I bought a battery keyboard for my surface 2 pro. It doubles the weight but on time is almost 24 hours browsing and gaming is about 10 hours with what little power it has.
At that point I think there are other solutions 😜
Depends for what. At school my back is breaking having to carry this Lenovo y50 15in , I'm definitely scrapping this for a surface pro. Battery life on the y50 is also trash too so pretty much anything is an upgrade from this (besides running games on low decently with ridiculous amounts of heat)
I hope if you can open it and show us how it looks from the inside too
