This is a lovely video, Aron. It's also quite educational and I'm glad you posted it. My friend who is a hardcore Christian claims that "science is a deception, DNA cannot create itself." which I find absurd. He also comes up with anecdotes or uses hoaxes to try and "disprove" evolution. I know that no matter what evidence I give him, he'll just brush it off so I had given up on him a long time ago. I like him as a person and I can respect a person having a religion to follow, but he's denying reality and that's my pet peeve with him. I mean, anyone who denies reality like that, I have a pet peeve with. I should also mention that he also said "Not all science is a deception." but truth be told, some science isn't a "deception" in his eyes, as long as it doesn't go against the Bible. Anywho, I just wanted to get that out there. Again, thank you for this. You're a very intelligent man and I hope to see more scientific videos from you. A scientist encounters a man standing on the beach. "Where do you come from?" the scientist asks. The man replies "I was created here." Wait a minute, I see foot steps coming from way over there. The man continues "but you're just making assumptions, there's nothing between the footsteps to prove that I came from over there. Not only that but I have this ancient book that says I was created right here." The scientist says, "but the footsteps match your shoes. How do you know your book is right?" The man replies "I believe my book, it's the 'truth' and that's all there is to it." The scientist says "the evidence points to you originating from over there. What evidence do you have that your book is correct?" The man replies "my book says my book is correct. It also says that I was created 2 hours ago." The scientist adds "but your footsteps disappear briefly over near the water, given that the tide receded 5 hours ago, I would postulate that you got hear much more than 5 hours ago. Your book doesn't make sense." The man now gets upset, "you're crazy, how do you come up with such fabrications?" The scientist then stands on a rock and looks on even further and says "I now see a turn over there, your steps actually starts a little further near the water and since I see a life jacket there, I would suggest that you landed there." The man immediately says "SUGGEST! How can you make up such things. You keep changing your story. My book clearly says I was created right here 2 hours ago and I've never had a life jacket." Oversimplified? Maybe, but it illustrates my point. Discoveries and additional facts improves the evidence. The man is just blind to what's real.

It always frustrating when creationists can explain micro evolution, but then about macro evolution they suddenly start talking absolute nonsense like claiming that means lizards giving birth to birds, and because that's not happening, for them that mean that evolution isn't true.
Right? It's the same process, one just continues until they're too genetically different to either interbreed, or are behaviourally, physiologically or anatomically different from the other population.
If there are slight differences between my generation and the ones from past (since it's impossible to keep genomes without change) then it's pretty logical that over the course of millions of generations significant visual changes can occur. Not mentioning the interior biochemistry.
@@caviramus0993 But creationists can't comprehend idea that universe and Earth are much older than few thousand years, so of course that they refuse idea that through few millions of years and thousands and thousands of generations is possible for new species to evolve.
Awesome content as usual, Aron!
@Tyler B #2 Said no one ever.
@Tyler B #2 the amount of comments you have left, clearly shows your indoctrination. It's quote sad really, that you need to seek out videos like this, so you can then spew your poison on the comments.
Why is your god so pathetic, he needs mere mortals to defend him?
@Tyler B #2 As if you've ever questioned your own philosophical/religious beliefs. No one has ever claimed Aron's assertions can't be questioned or criticized. Science is predicated on criticism. Religion, on the other hand, is not.
@Tyler B #2 goddamn right. 😉
@Tyler B #2 Please point out an error in the video and we can discuss it.
Aron, you are spoiling us for content.
Thank you.
I am passionate about science and it helps me understand the world a bit better each time.
You are a wonderful speaker, I could listen all day
you changed my thought about evolution
I like that Aron hasn't updated his setup since roughly 1862. Its part of the charm.
Do you remember 1862 from your childhood?
Kent Hovind: Describes evolution and declares that the thing he described exists
Also Kent Hovind: Denies that evolution exists.
Don't believe anything Kent says he's a pathological liar and a social path.
Another important and outstanding work !
Thanks for all you do!
Aron this program is so important to me like at my earlier days. Listening to Carl Sagan and this was the beginning when I open my eyes and I still listening to this beautiful programs to make me think positive and I'm proud of this guy's and many others who are real good educators keep the good word Aron
Oh, man, I was so glad to see Hovind pop up again. That debate was such a fun time.
You mean inmate 06452-017 surely?
Technically it still is. The debate never ended.

Hey Jeremy
@@dylanking9738 Hey!
Thank you for the clear information you provided. You have corrected some of misunderstandings. Thank you again
My book clearly says I was created right here 2 hours ago and I've never had a life jacket."
Oversimplified? Maybe, but it illustrates my point. Discoveries and additional facts improves the evidence. The man is just blind to what's real.
*The problem with your myth is that you see the footsteps of a dog, then the footsteps of a cat and just because they are similar you conclude the cat's footsteps evolved from the dog's footsteps.*
@@糸攴鬼㐯衣豸麻 Pardon? Whose myth? I see no cats or dogs in Real's analogy. He is illustrating (very nicely IMO) how science operates. You, however, seem to want to straw man it into your warped view of what evolution isn't. SMH.
Thank you for the amazing clarity.
It always makes me roll my eyes when creationists try to criticize evolution by claiming it requires faith, while at the same time praising the faith they use to believe their religion.
I truly like these type of videos that Aron produces so well, even if the dog is chewing on his/her bone.

Natural selection is always beneficial, some mutations aquried can provide benefits but can ultimately be negative for the organism. An example of this is Sickle cell anemia, which is beneficial in that it provides immunity to Malaria for the carriers but it is also disadvantageous because the sickled blood cells lead to various health complications.
