I agree. I had a small herb garden, but they were never full and vibrant like the ones you have. I had mine in my kitchen window (sunsetting side of the house). Do yours stay where they are during your videos, or do they move somewhere sunny?
If you want to set up a garden, think what herbs you want and what this plant needs to thrive. Rosemary and lavender need little water and Lots of sun ( and space) while herbs like chives, parsely and basil need more water and a light but not too Sunny place. The biggest mistake you could make is packing too many seeds or plants in a limited space, so the plants will fight over water, light and nutritious minerals.
GREAT to have you back Frankie!! Please, never forget this. You promised you would do "Struggle Meals" at least until I die! I think this promise was made last season in a reply to a comment I posted. And, I'm holding you and your crew responsible for getting this done. I'm 63. And not well. Soooo could possibly not be as long as it sounds! (fyi~I'm not dying ☺) I'm ready for some healthy and easy ideas! After 50 years cooking the same old, same old (but with a few really good years thrown in), it makes cooking ~let's say~a bit less exciting. Your recipes are timely, nutritious, easy and delicious! Thanks for these. I've tried almost every recipe. And they're all good~and most are ~(kisses fingers)~bellissimo!! Thank you Jenn 💖 in Canada 🍁 ☺
Welcome back Frankie!!! I've missed the humour and the recipes, thank you and everyone else behind the scenes for this series. One thing I was a little disappointed about, however, was that this video has only one recipe which didn't use up the entire eggplant - I supposed one could use the rest of the eggplant to make more eggplant parmesan and eat it for the rest of the week or share it with others. I think this was also the case for some of the themed videos and their main ingredients. But I quite liked the earlier videos that taught me three different dishes using that one butternut squash so that I didn't leave anything to waste. But maybe that's just me. Anyways, thank you for these interesting videos, can't wait to see more!
I love Frankie's British accent attempts, so funny. There's so many British accents and variations but the received pronounciation style is the one everyone does! I'd love him to do a British food episode with his struggle meal angle, on classics like fish and chips and mushy peas, a roast, maybe do a veggie one, Scotch eggs, etc. Having said that I'm British and mainly eat Italian and vegetarian! By the way Frankie Aubergine, Aubergine, Aubergine!!!!!! You can tell you really like that fried aubergine, it evokes childhood and happy comforting times. I like your approach to cooking, it's fun and unstuffy and you enjoy your food.
I want this so bad !! Four sandwiches out of one eggplant, one baguette, one can of tomato’s, some garlic, and barely a whole block of cheese which can be used for other things. I love it
I love everything about his message! I've always been diligent about cooking at home (way yummier than take out!) and using what I have first, but even with years of experience I'm learning so much from Struggle Meals! Plus he's super funny :) :) I will make it my mission to like every single video I find from struggle meals because everyone involved is spreading a truly wonderful food mantra that is awesome!
Yay Frankie back. One day I hope that you create your own channel because your contents amazing the content of the other creators on this channel not as great as yours.
Aubergine is just the French word for eggplant. Like Americans use the Italian term (zucchini) for courgette (French) and cilantro (Spanish) for coriander (French). Incidentally the English term for a courgette/zucchini is marrow.
I tried, but no moisture is coming out of my eggplant. They're not graffiti eggplants, my store didn't have them, they're just the regular ones. But it doesn't seem to be working, how long should it take?
They need to have my boy Frankie on an episode with Babish, or Good Eats. I also noticed a lot of the editing cuts and camera placement reminds me of Alton's show. Neat.
Yes. I need to know , i love how they are just hanging on the wall as I don't have a window sill for plants. Please do a tutorial. Thanks. Glad to have you back
I did it this way and the bottom piece of bread was soggy. Next time I'll just toast the bread and skip the broiler part. The cheese melts anyways if you just made the tomato sauce.
@@FrankieCooks I'll definitely try cooking this one just to have a feel of your taste buds. Are you really the one replying this or is it your youtube channel manager or something? Just curious.
You can buy a piece of parm cheese like that for about $8 or $9 at Wal-Mart. He's only using $1 worth of cheese off of that whole piece so maybe 1-2 ounces.
I'm not a big fan of the lack of background music. It made the video feel strange. Other than that, cool recipe, I'll be sure to try it, though I miss the 3 recipe format.
can you do a video on how to set up the struggle herb garden?
yes please!

The best cooking show - Frankie’s teaching everyone a thing or two, old to young! Wish we had this show 30 years ago!
I add some oil to the breadcrumbs before breading and bake them in the oven it's muuuuuch more crunchy and healthier because less oil over all :D
*Frankie making sounds as he bites into the sandwich* "This is the call of my people!"
"Franchino the bambino." I love it!
Not many people love eggplant but i love its mushy texture and taste as well♥️
Honestly...best cooking tips ever, come from this series. I’m actually learning to cook lol
This guy's energy is electric and I love it. WOW. Subscribed.
Just made this for lunch for my wife and it turned out delicious! Thank you for the meal suggestion and keep it up!
Roses are red.
Violets are blue.
Congrats on the bread knife @ 4:22
Mark A he had to trade the ACTUAL whisk he had hanging on the board behind him for it.
Love him he makes cooking so much fun
Would you do an episode on creating a kitchen garden?
I LOVE EGGPLANT!!! Thank you for showcasing this amazing food!!
I love Frankie's British accent attempts, so funny. There's so many British accents and variations but the received pronounciation style is the one everyone does!

My favorite dish. Love it.

Tried the salt tip with eggplant this week and OMG! This was the best eggplant I have ever made! Thank you for the tips!
Looks amazing, do you have any tips for the "struggle herb garden"? Thanks!
Yes please!
Frankie is a king 👑
I love eggplants 💕 and this recipe is amazing
Well it's about freaking time, Frankie. There's only so many times I can rewatch the old episodes. You've been missed 😁
no wonder i find this recipe to be so intriguing, it was posted on my bday!!! gotta definitely make this one day ^_^
Been making eggplant this way since I was a child. 👍🏻
I want this so bad !! Four sandwiches out of one eggplant, one baguette, one can of tomato’s, some garlic, and barely a whole block of cheese which can be used for other things. I love it
Omgggg! It's Back! Finally! ❤️❤️❤️ I missed SM and of course Frankie!

I love this recipe, and, eggplant parm is one of my all time favorites. Thanx! I noticed you don't use a chef's apron. It would save laundry problems.
Dope intro man. Love the videos
Jeremy Bland TY
Feels kinda weird without the background music. But a great recipe and video nonetheless!
Spaghetti sauce and boxed cereal are THE biggest mark-ups in markets.
The way Frankie chopped that garlic had me NERVOUS
I do love eggplant and eggplant parm too.
Where can I find these great recipes?
In the uk the broiler is called "the grill", eggplants are "aubergines" and scallions are "spring onions"
My favourite! Eggplant in everything please
I’m already a great cook, yet, Frankie always teaches me something!
Omg i have not watched one of these videos in months (due to me not being able to find them) i loved it
What knife do you use? It’s really sharp and 😎 cool
I love this dish but didn't know the correct way to prepare it. Willing be making it this way next time. Many thanks.
Yay Frankie back. One day I hope that you create your own channel because your contents amazing the content of the other creators on this channel not as great as yours.
I have my own channel, it's right here
Kyle Lundgren couldn’t agree more- only follow this channel for frankie and jen
Welcome back! Nice new intro and having just one recipe vs three works...especially when the results looks SO DELICIOUS!
Thanks Frankie, made it and loved it
Aubergine is just the French word for eggplant. Like Americans use the Italian term (zucchini) for courgette (French) and cilantro (Spanish) for coriander (French). Incidentally the English term for a courgette/zucchini is marrow.
C'est tres bizarre!
Looks so good! I’m allergic to tomatoes 😩. What would you recommend as a sauce for this instead?
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 yay! You’re back!
This is strangely high production for how many subs you have… that’s awesome! Are you a film student or something?
Best looking eggplant parm I've ever seen
You're back!!!
TY luv first time here & feeling this eggplant tutorial lol!!! Your energy got me frying some eggplant! luv it ❤
AMAZING CHANNEL AND SEGMENT! Struggle means are so tasty and easy
Finally! He's back!
YES! Struggle Meals is back!
My broiler is at the very bottom of my stove and it's pretty small. Should I use the same steps?
Frankie, Have you ever done a struggle meals on how to do Kosher on a tight budget? Just curious. I would love some great ideas.
The basil song!!!!!!!!!! classic frankie
Alexandra Hnatyshyn nice catch!
The basil song returns!
Great series! Wasn't it the French who say, aubergine?
Where can I watch the first 6 seasons of struggle meals since it’s not on this channel??
Snapchat
He's back....💓💓💓💓❤❤❤❤❤💗💗💗💗💗
Frankie Es bueno
I tried, but no moisture is coming out of my eggplant. They're not graffiti eggplants, my store didn't have them, they're just the regular ones. But it doesn't seem to be working, how long should it take?
Frankie's back!
Yay! Another Struggle Meal!
I wish this video had the steps written out in the description or comments like some of your other ones are.
They need to have my boy Frankie on an episode with Babish, or Good Eats. I also noticed a lot of the editing cuts and camera placement reminds me of Alton's show. Neat.
I remember watching him on Snapchat lol
Sameee!!
Oh I love him
Please do some low sodium dishes that aren’t bland!
I always buy the whole canned tomatoes to, dunno why but there always better than the already diced ones.
Welcome back!!!
harika görünüyor
Dang...that looks tasty!
But what about the eggplant...?
Am cooking this for dinner tonight.
Where did you go ?
Those herb plants setup need light or its just fine in a kitchen with normal light
Yes. I need to know , i love how they are just hanging on the wall as I don't have a window sill for plants. Please do a tutorial. Thanks. Glad to have you back
Yay!!!!!!!!!! My boo’s back!
is this new season?
Frankie for President!
the male plant has fewer seeds and is less bitter
Dots not slots! (On the base, look for a dot not a longer mark). Thanks chef John from Food Wishes for the tip!
Are you going to stop putting the measurements in the comments section? :(
Glad you're back, though! :)
Good stuff!
Yessss
I could taste the sandwich when you bit it. So yummy!!!
Recipe please?
I've never wanted eggplant until now
This was beautiful and am a convert.
I did it this way and the bottom piece of bread was soggy. Next time I'll just toast the bread and skip the broiler part. The cheese melts anyways if you just made the tomato sauce.
If you put a slice of lettuce on the bottom under the aubergine (eggplant for you Americans!) it won't go soggy.
Welcome back Mr. Struggle Meals!
it's a pleasure to BE back
@@FrankieCooks I'll definitely try cooking this one just to have a feel of your taste buds. Are you really the one replying this or is it your youtube channel manager or something? Just curious.
Am I the only one who went "we can make creative, nutritious and inventive dishes for under t-... Wait what?"
Where do you get parmesan for $1

I'm allergic to eggplant but eat it anyways because I love it.
I have never seen that alternative eggplant.
