It's reciprocal, Hollywood has always lumped Mexican culture with Cuban, and Puerto Rican culture as well. To them we are all the same. I don't take offense, because I love my brothers from the Caribbean, and we actually share many similarities in our cultures. Omg I have a friend from the island that says US pr people are annoying because of how much they rep being pr. But I truly believe there is an extra sense of pride people have when they leave their country. And the next generations feel robbed from the opportunity to know and learn their culture first hand. And I think that’s where the pride comes from.
