The Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) is a low-interest loan program that funds water quality improvement projects in each state and Puerto Rico. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) included $4 billion for the CWSRF. Twenty percent of these funds were targeted for the Green Project Reserve, which encourages communities to implement green infrastructure projects, water and energy efficiency improvements, and other environmentally innovative activities. This video highlights how the City of Lenexa, Kansas utilized CWSRF ARRA funds to construct the Central Green Streamway-an innovative stormwater management solution that protects water quality while providing recreational and educational opportunities for residents.
