B, you’re not a boring person. There seems to be this generalisation that to be on YT you have to be extroverted, have a ton of stuff to share and talk about, but I love the subdued nature of what you do. Keep flying the flag for all of us reserved and quiet people out there 👋🏾 We 🖤 u
Hey Brittany, I'm a yoga and meditation teacher - I just wanted to leave a quick note to say it's completely normal and very common for meditation practices focusing on the breath to make you feel anxious if you are a person that suffers with anxiety. If you wanted to try a seated meditation practice, I'd recommend a mindfulness of sound meditation (also called receptive listening meditation). But, equally, there's no reason why running can't be your form of meditation, there are no rules about what counts as meditation x
hey Brittany! just got to the part about Denim/shrinkage - if they’re 100% cotton, they *will* shrink a bit, even if the denim has been sanforized/pre-shrunk, due to the nature of the fabric ☺️ (sorry for nerdery, i used to work for Edwin jeans 😹🤦🏾♀️).
I know exactly what you mean about yoga and meditation and anxiety! Can highly recommend Pilates, it’s active but forces you to tune into your body in a fine tuned, aware way so your mind is not preoccupied with other thoughts. and I’ve also learnt so much about the human body and builds strength for running! Can highly recommend as a “meditative” practice which doesn’t require just sitting still.
I watched both those rock climbing documentaries, Free Solo just as it came out a couple of years ago, at the time I was getting into bouldering and found those films incredibly inspiring and fascinating. Alex Honnold is an amazing climber, one of a kind. xx
Meditation and Yin Yoga can be really tough at the beginning because of the stillness. Our busy lives allows us to keep everything trapped in our bodies and subconscious and that's what leads to anxiety -- when we're still, the root of it starts to come up for us, and its really uncomfortable to confront. However, I find if you sit with the stillness (and the discomfort) and get over that initial hump, it can lead to profound breakthroughs. I find it so interesting that both movement and stillness can both lead to mental clarity, each in their own unique way!
Your "anxiety" is your mind telling your body to move. Hence, your relief coming from running, etc. Listen to what is best for you. You intuitively know what is right. There are some great videos from a gentleman named Andrew Huberman who explains the mind and why it does what it does.
I'm so glad you are into climbing documentaries . One of my favourite thing to watch. Few suggestions below : 1. Meru 2. Valley uprising 3. Touching the Void 4. Beyond the edge 5. Sherpa 6. The summit
Thank you for these! I watched Touching the Void recently. Really enjoyed it, but throughout the whole thing I was like...guys...you were warned!!! Such an amazing story of survival.
I met Simon(the guy who cut the rope ) at the Royal geographic society seminar once . He is a lovely chap. You might like The summit in that case it is touching the void ×11. Sad but incredible footage.
Headspace has some awesome running meditations! I"m like you - sitting still is sometimes the hardest. While I still practice and would like to get better at mediation, I find things like moving meditations really helpful. Especially as a professional dancer. Thanks for sharing!
I’m a big James Acaster fan so I listen to that podcast as well, and her “Sue-anon” theory about sparkling water and all fizzy drinks was so funny. Totally lost it when she started talking about The Shaman and the hot tub.
So excited to wake up and find another video (whether a vlog or not) from you. Toronto has been having beautiful spring like weather too. Hopefully it stays
Hi! It’s been sunny in Paris as well and I’ve literally felt like a whole new person, never has spring meant so much to me... Also, about meditation I’ve been meditated for 5 years now and I noticed that meditation isn’t necessarily done sitting/lying down with eyes closed. I find the same state when I’m dancing, in nature or looking up to the sky. Maybe what helps your spirit is running ! Congrats on the deal, excited to see you on ************* website next month :) I hope your Dragrace marathon is going well 😜
Tell me about it! It's pepped me up a lot this week. Fingers crossed the good weather stays for a bit. I think you're right. When I'm out running I find myself in an almost meditative state or trance, but didn't recognise it as possibly being a type of meditation. No more lying on a mat with a blanket for me 😂 And as for Drag Race...I really had to refrain from talking about Drag Race in this vlog because seriously, once I get started I CANNOT stop. It's such a lifeline for me at the moment. I sat watching 30 minutes of Jujubees best bits last week 😂
Haha yes! That blanket was cute though 😂 Goodness I love Jujubee so much ! I don’t think you’re on all stars yet but you are in for a treat ! I meeeean I say YES to drag race convos because it can’t do anything but bring joy to anyone who watches it! So many iconic moments, lypsincs and Queens ! Now, has it been good for my productivity ? Nope but I will deal with that later 🐒. Have a good evening 🌱
Thank you for the doc recommendations! They help me go into a deep focus that I find is great before bed. About the Meditation, I also can’t relax and feel anxious doing the ones where you follow allowing /breath work. What I do sometimes is play calming music (i like tradition Chinese flute music haha) and almost zone out and daydream about somewhere open like a lake or surroundings and just let it flow in my mind, I find it super relaxing and there’s no pressure at all perhaps something like that would suit you better, of course a good sweat always works. Can’t wait to see the spring looks it feels unread how it’s suddenly light and spring is in the air. Loving the bookcase display and mix of pillows. Have a lovely week :)
Just a quick thank you for the The Dawn Wall tip. We watched it last night and found it so compelling even though we have no real interest in climbing at all. I enjoyed the way the technical, physical and logistical side of climbing was covered but also the human side was equally as fascinating. Thank you very much.
Honestly love your vlogs Brittany, you're a gem and thanks for all the great recommendations. Loved the Dawn Wall and the Curated Copenhagen site looks suberb. Much love to you! x
I love Alex Honnold and watch a lot of climbing documentaries. They are very inspiring, like you say. When Free Solo came out in theatre, I went and watched it on the biggest screen I could find. My hands were sweating watching it!
Brittany, I love that you watched the Dawn Wall. I climb myself and I never thought there'd be a B and climbing crossover. Climbing is a very impressive sport and Tommy Caldwell is a very impressive man. If you're on a climbing buzz Valley Uprising is well worth the watch and describes the history of climbing in Yosemite. Also Adam Ondra's UA-cam channel is crazy motivating. He is a machine. But also talks through his experiences, struggles and motivations when tackling the most difficult routes in the world.
Your vlogs are always just so spot on! Love your recommendations and yes the dawn wall is amazing!!! You are absolutely not boring ....you are so interesting and I always look forward to what you have to share and show.
14:18 -- Respectfully: meditation is *not* about switching off the mind. It's about *accepting* your thoughts ("the monkey mind") without judgment, over and over again, going back to the breath, and releasing the idea that having thoughts means you're a "bad meditator." I run and exercise to release energy and anxiety, too -- but those are meditative acts, not actual meditation.
Hi Brittany, just in relation to your Monstera, as long as it’s not a west-facing window you should be able to put it closer to the light. I’ve got three, all quite close to north-facing windows and I’m in Australia. Also feel free to prune those browning leaves they’re just using up energy. Thanks again for another lovely vlog!
I struggled with meditation and yoga in the peaks of my anxiety, until I went to regular yoga classes a few years back. I finally learnt to let go of tension after a couple of months, now it's integrated into my everyday life as a key coping mechanism.
Jeans that shrink in the wash means that the fabric was not prewashed before it was sewn. Higher quality denim brands will always preshrink or prewash their denim so it doesn't shink! Loved the vlog as always (and that neckerchief oh my) x
Loved, loved, loved the vlog as always. I think it's safe to say you are my absolute favourite UA-camr. I love that you are such a perfectionist and you have such exquisite style both in clothing and your home. Hope you have an amazing week x
About your monstera plant... try watering it with not too cold water, more handwarm. I nearly ruined mine watering it with cold water and since I use warmer water it has fully recovered. 🤩
Love your vlogs always🤍 would also love to see a wardrobe video on trousers, you have so many great pairs and I find it’s difficult to find the ‘perfect’ pair!
I'm halfway through The Secret History and finding its going on forever, persevering but totally get what you mean. I also have an unruly monsterra that's massive like yours, so the ferm living plant pot might just be the right size too!
I love all your vlogs, Brittany! I’ve found them to be such a comfort over the past year. As a side note, I think I saw on Instagram that you have the Neous Neptune bag, which I think I might get as a birthday treat! I’d love to hear a little bit in an upcoming vlog about how you’re finding the bag (though this is a selfish request from me haha so no worries at all if you don’t get around to it!) xx
If you don't want the glass doors and is up for a DIY-moment you could put velcro strips on the top, middle and bottom and stick fabric on the inside. Usually you fold it a bit to make it ruched, there are tons of tutorials here on youtube. I think it would be pretty with like a linen fabric or something? If you find that you don't like the look of books behind them! I love your vlogs!
A suggestion for your shelves: organising books in colour order, it's a lot more visually pleasing and interesting, I start with white and create a spectrum into black
Someone else on a climbing documentary binge! Watched both of those this week and can’t stop thinking about them 😂 There are a few videos on UA-cam on how they made/filmed free solo on UA-cam which are well worth a watch if you haven’t!
Hi Brittany, I was so sad to not have a vlog last week which made me realise how much I'm actually looking forward to them, hehe :) A suggestion for your living room cupboards: why dont you put beautiful glassware in the glass cupboards? like nice bowls or wine glasses, a carafe maybe ..
I was thinking to watch it as well but I need my mental ready Lol. Because if I watch something like that it gets me mentally, maybe it sounds stupid but it’s true. Love your blog as always. Stay safe! Xx
i loved this vlog! the plant pot is stunning, i have a HUGE monstera too and struggled so much to find a decent pot when repotting it last spring.. I would recommend you buy a moss pole to stake your monstera to train it to grow upwards, mimic its natural environment and prevent it from dropping to the sides. I also noticed it has browning tips on its leaves - don't be scared to gently cut those off! That's probably from under/over watering or too much sunlight
Look forward to your vlogs every weekend! Has become my new Sunday routine. Would you be able to link or note where the ceramic vases that are displayed on your shelves are from? I believe these are older as I’ve seen them in older posts of yours but have always loved them/wondered where they’re from!
If you enjoyed Free Solo and the Dawn Wall then you should watch Meru which is also produced by Jimmy Chin and Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi, it’s an excellent watch
Re bookshelves, flip all the books around on the RHS of the book shelf so they show the inside paper of the book vs the colourful spines, easy fix for achieving minimal look. Sorry if this has been said a million times already!
If you liked The Dawn Wall you should watch The Barkley Marathons. It’s about a 60-mile “fun run” in Tennessee limited to 60 hours, it’s full of really interesting characters! Would recommend x
The coat from Uniqlo is so nice! I am also petite, 155 cm, and I am struggeling with the oversized style. What are the size of the coat, and have you had it shortened?
I love your make up...dewy skin and natural looking. Would you consider doing a tutorial on it, please? PS: Came to the part with the ring light...I think you look better even without!!
Hey, love the ear cuff, have to wait for it to come back in stock. Also as for washing it can also depend on what spin cycle you use, if it is a hi spin cycle it sucks the water out to quick which can also create as much shrink as a hi temp can. Hope that helps 😊
Hi Brittany! Thank you for your beautiful videos 😍 if I may have one follow up question for the trainers video(which was great btw!) if lost or stolen both of your Studio Nicholson x moonstar sneakers, which color would you repurchase if only one: Cream or Dove? 🤍☺️
Hey Brittany, have you heard of or considered the Alpha-stim? It’s good for managing anxiety, and you can try it on the NHS to see if it works for you but it can also just be purchased online. Is uses alpha waves as far as I know so is a good alt to medication. Sending love! Keep the interior content coming (please!) your place is looking beaut.
I know what you mean about being at the “other end” of the spectrum re yoga, which is why I so love vinyasa yoga. It is very active, so much so that it is difficult for random thoughts to sneak in. Favourite teacher is Jason Crandell, he is great for that and can be found online.
I think you’d get a lot out of Csikszentmihalyi’s philosophy of “flow state.” It’s essentially the idea that each of us can find activities that we get so engrossed in, we shut off our thoughts and worries without necessarily being aware of it - just as one tries to do while meditating. For me that is making art, and for you it sounds like running does the trick. There are definitely ways to experience the benefits of meditation without sitting on a pillow with your eyes closed. :)
Love the vlog as always! Would you recommend the specific ring light you got? I have been thinking about getting one for portrait photography but not very sure which one!
I read The Secret History recently after you had vlogged about it and it reminded me I had a copy. I really enjoyed it so thank you. I really like stuff that forgoes some plot and pace for tone and atmosphere though so I think that's why. Looking forward to your C**(?) collaboration, be great to see their stuff styled on someone shorter.
I also have this thing where im apologising a lot and i find it very annoying that i do that. Lately i try to think and sometimes write down why i feel this need. And a lot of the times its the fact that i am in some way dealing with an emotion that im finding hard to deal with or wish that i could ignore. So i apologise, maybe more to myself then to the actual person in front of me. This insight has made me apologise less somehow, so maybe it helps you too. Lots of love, i stopped the video to write this but i already know im gonna love this vlog like i do all of them :)
Brittany! I love that sideboard you have in the background in your living room. Could I ask what is the brand? I feel like I saw it when you set it up in another vlog, but I cannot find it. Love watching your videos, very calming and not boring at all!
I'm so excited for the video! Do you mind if you could do specific fashion videos like how you style an outfit or something in that direction? (That's exactly what you said at the end ;)) Or maybe (if you like) something about yourself? Maybe your story getting started with social media or other jobs? Best wishes from Germany :)
Hi Brittany, loved the new video. I was also thinking of purchasing the trenchcoat from Uniqlo. Which size did you go for? I am between XS or S. I have more of a petite figure but I always prefer an oversized look.
I am a Japanese man living in Tokyo and I love the way you dress, very cool!
So, I'm learning your British English too.
Arigatou-gozaimasu!

Brittany, I always love your hair so much- would love to see a rundown on your care and products plus a demo on styling!
Thank you so much for creating such beautiful content! 🤎 I love the vibe and the slow pace in your videos.
Have a lovely rest of the weekend!
hey Brittany! just got to the part about Denim/shrinkage - if they’re 100% cotton, they *will* shrink a bit, even if the denim has been sanforized/pre-shrunk, due to the nature of the fabric ☺️ (sorry for nerdery, i used to work for Edwin jeans 😹🤦🏾♀️).

You are NOT a boring person Jesus Christ xD. You are a little reserved maybe subdued in your manner. It is beautiful and please don't ever change. x
I watched both those rock climbing documentaries, Free Solo just as it came out a couple of years ago, at the time I was getting into bouldering and found those films incredibly inspiring and fascinating. Alex Honnold is an amazing climber, one of a kind. xx
Your skin is glowing!!! It looks so healthy and fresh! 😍 that natural routine is showing!
Was thinking the same!

I love Alex Honnold and watch a lot of climbing documentaries. They are very inspiring, like you say. When Free Solo came out in theatre, I went and watched it on the biggest screen I could find. My hands were sweating watching it!
Ok ... the shirt , the little scarf, the mules ..: this was a very rich video in terms of elegance . I mean wow !
❤️❤️❤️
Wow i loved The Dawn Wall! so great and inspiring ✨
Many congratulations on the project. ❤️
Thank you so much ❤️
Your skin looks absolutely amazing!! Thank you for another great, comforting vlog xx
The neckerchief works so well!!
Can't wait to hear about how you're organizing your bullet journal! Love your vlogs as always, such a light during such a crazy time 💖

Can't wait for the bookshelf update :)
I'll make sure to include in next weeks vlog x
Huge yay to a styling video with clothes you already own!! And thanks for the book rec! Ordered!
Thank you Brittany for an early Sunday vlog, it was heavenly and has made my evening. Loving the Lemaire items at the start.
Thank you so much for watching ❤️
14:18 -- Respectfully: meditation is *not* about switching off the mind. It's about *accepting* your thoughts ("the monkey mind") without judgment, over and over again, going back to the breath, and releasing the idea that having thoughts means you're a "bad meditator." Meditation is about non-attachment to whether a thought is "good," or "bad," and letting yourself just *be* as you are.
I run and exercise to release energy and anxiety, too -- but those are meditative acts, not actual meditation.
I found breathwork a great entrance into meditation. Win Hoff is so interesting x
Jeans that shrink in the wash means that the fabric was not prewashed before it was sewn. Higher quality denim brands will always preshrink or prewash their denim so it doesn't shink! Loved the vlog as always (and that neckerchief oh my) x
Ahh that makes total sense now! Thank you for watching :) x
I understand when you talk about meditation. I tried it since the beginning of the year. I think daily calm are so good and helpfull
That Sue Perkins episode of Off Menu is hilarious!! Thanks for the recommendation!
I’m considering listening to it for a THIRD time 😂
@@BrittanyBathgate1 😂 I don’t blame you!! It’s so good!
Dawn Wall is so good and your hair color looks amazing matched with the light sage green shirt! Love watching your videos!!
Loved, loved, loved the vlog as always. I think it's safe to say you are my absolute favourite UA-camr. I love that you are such a perfectionist and you have such exquisite style both in clothing and your home. Hope you have an amazing week x
‘Always, always enjoy your content. Thank you! You always have something wonderful, new, insightful to share😃
love your "boring" blogs
❤️❤️❤️
Free solo! I was so stressed out, but I loved it! :)
Brittany I always look forward to watching your vlogs! You have inspired me to start running again!! Thanks for sharing wonderful content!
About your monstera plant... try watering it with not too cold water, more handwarm. I nearly ruined mine watering it with cold water and since I use warmer water it has fully recovered. 🤩
this video came at the perfect time the day before i change flats and in a hunt for beutiful homeware ❤️
Love your vlogs always🤍 would also love to see a wardrobe video on trousers, you have so many great pairs and I find it’s difficult to find the ‘perfect’ pair!

Your home is so beautiful, great vlog xx
Thank you 😊 and thank you for watching! X
Wonderful, enjoyed that so much thank you and can’t wait for spring styling ✌🏻
Thank you for watching! ❤️
Meditation sometimes makes me more anxious too. I find it helps with stress but not always anxiety.
The Dawn Wall is amazing!!!! I remember when I watched I was amazed by it!! Couldn’t stop talking about it with my partner for a week 😂
Literally, I am telling anyone who will listen about it! 😂
What are you thoughts on the couch? Loving the cushions but loving the sofa even more
I was thinking to watch it as well but I need my mental ready Lol. Because if I watch something like that it gets me mentally, maybe it sounds stupid but it’s true. Love your blog as always. Stay safe! Xx
Off menu is amazingly funny
Yoga.... it’s all about timing, and the right teacher, if you seek it... it will find you 🌙✨
we love the wardrobe review!!!
Thank you ❤️
totally on the same page with meditation and yoga!

You should watch the film 'Meru' too. It's about mountaineering, not climbing, but is amazing and features Jimmy Chin (the guy who shot Free Solo) x
Ooo can’t wait for the Cos collab!
Love ur vlogs girl! ☺️ Keep doing u! Hugs from Sweden!
I love watching your video's!!!!
If you enjoyed Free Solo and the Dawn Wall then you should watch Meru which is also produced by Jimmy Chin and Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi, it’s an excellent watch
You need a moss pole for your Monstera. It will help it to climb
Re bookshelves, flip all the books around on the RHS of the book shelf so they show the inside paper of the book vs the colourful spines, easy fix for achieving minimal look. Sorry if this has been said a million times already!

is your couch comfy or more firm?? could you get comfy on it?
I have the same issue with jeans😱 Going up a size or two up has worked best for me:)
Which fabric did you choose for HAY sofa?? I’m thinking of getting the color like yours! Love from Japan❤️
Hey, love the ear cuff, have to wait for it to come back in stock. Also as for washing it can also depend on what spin cycle you use, if it is a hi spin cycle it sucks the water out to quick which can also create as much shrink as a hi temp can. Hope that helps 😊
You should watch ‘free solo’ too!
You might also enjoy the film Meru, which was made by same team as Free Solo (am also semi-obsessed with climbing docos ;-))
Hi Brittany! Thank you for your beautiful videos 😍
if I may have one follow up question for the trainers video(which was great btw!) if lost or stolen both of your Studio Nicholson x moonstar sneakers, which color would you repurchase if only one: Cream or Dove?
Loved that....thank you 😊
Thank you for watching ❤️
Love watching your videos, very calming and not boring at all!
i think you may be referring to Tylko?:)
@@destroyerlost Thank you!!
Which products do you use for the glow effect? Love from Germany xx
I'm so excited for the video!
Do you mind if you could do specific fashion videos like how you style an outfit or something in that direction?
(That's exactly what you said at the end ;))
Or maybe (if you like) something about yourself? Maybe your story getting started with social media or other jobs?
Best wishes from Germany :)
Hi Brittany, loved the new video. I was also thinking of purchasing the trenchcoat from Uniqlo. Which size did you go for? I am between XS or S. I have more of a petite figure but I always prefer an oversized look.
