This table arrived well packaged and on time. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxn94T8Mu1iMnsLCMNOI9srXSsLkI4JXKW Like another reviewer advised, I pulled everything out and made sure everything was included (everything was!). I built it alone and it took me about an hour. The color is great and for the price the lift part works well. As others have mentioned, it’s not the smoothest opening/closing, but it works. The screws do show, but I plan to order white sticker covers if that bothers us too much. Really happy with this table! UPDATE: it’s been over a year since we got this coffee table and we still love it! It gets HEAVY use as our dining table, foot rest, and school desk. Over time, the opening and closing mechanism has gotten smoother. I added a new photo with the white screw cover stickers. They blend in perfectly and make it look a little cleaner. 100% recommend!!!
I have to agree with you....that finish from Total Boat looks really good and easy to apply. I like how you exposed the end grains on the 4x4 instead of covering them up with the tabletop. Good job y'all
Thanks for providing a 20% discount at Total Boat by using the coupon “Woodbrew”. I have 1 quart ordered of the Halcyon varnish & will see how it holds up for an outdoor project. Good job providing a video of your build!
Hey guys - another fun project. The patio furniture is a fun series to watch. There are so many more pieces that you can add. Should be very nice when completed. Oh BTW - how much sanding did you need between coats ? !!!!
I’m guessing it’s similar to our heat down here in Australia, everything that attempts to put a film over the top fails pretty quickly so I now use a penetrating oil that resides in the wood and doesn’t leave a film like Organoil outdoor furniture oil. About once a year I was it down with deck cleaner and recoat. No sanding or brushwork, just use a sponge very quick and easy.
Hey quick question about the total boat finish can it be applied over paint or stain, doing a similar outdoor project and thinking about adding a little color not just the natural wood.
Did you guys have to plane or take the rounded edges off of your 4x4’s? At the box stores near me I think they don’t sell them without the rounded edges.
@@heyimamaker I'm not exactly sure what you mean because we use different methods in Australia but rough sawn is always square edge, if by rough lumber you mean building timber then yes you can get it square edge too you just have to look for it.
Hey guys, I love your videos and I would love to try that finish! I was wondering if you are interested or know someone who would be interested in donating old clamps or any kind of used tools or materials for woodworking. There is a woodworking school (from the government) here in my city in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico that is almost for free, but doesn't have many tools and is great for the community. The teacher is great and sometimes uses his oun tools to teach.
Use a hand planer, or a power hand planer, or a table saw... There are almost always other options. Also, I'm a hobbyist woodworker and I have a planer. You can get them pretty reasonably priced, especially if you are willing to buy them used.
I hate to be the safety police but the blade on your sliding compound mite saw is not the correct one. It is much too aggressive. You need one with a much lower hook angle. Check your owners manual for their recommendation. Nice project.
@@sh0cktim3 A standard chop saw blade has a very aggressive hook angle. That is not appropriate for a sliding compound saw (or a radial arm saw). It is because when the slide is extended the blade is lifting the wood and potentially pulling it up off the table. If you check the Freud website you will see they have low hook angle blades recommended for sliders.
This piece of rubbish is not furniture, it is a few wobbly pieces of wood with weak flimsy joinery. Why would you fool around with that equipment if you cannot even use the basics of putting a few pieces of wood together?

Nice work on the coffee table Molly & Dylan Thank you for sharing the video with us.👌👍😎JP

Hi guys I’m interested in the plans for the coffee table will you be posting?
Nice work, guys! I’m really liking this series of outdoor patio pieces. I like the informative VO too!
Ahhh thank you so so much! That makes us so happy 🙃☺️
Very nice.! I love the beefiness! I'm going back and watch the rest of the paio series.
Thanks for posting.
Excelent job guys !
Thanks a lot!
You both do very nice work! Thank you for sharing! ❤️❤️☺️☺️
Thank you so much! ❤️
Perfect 👌
Thanks 😄
You really need a crosscut sled. Using the t-square with the material between the blade and fence is asking for an Extremely dangerous kickback.
+ good work/safety example to set for your viewers. 👍🏻
I was thinking that looked a little sketchy 😬 great looking table though!
Looks amazing. Have an awesome weekend, Andreas 🇸🇪
❤❤❤
Excelente trabajo exelente mueble, muchas felicidades, saludos desde México.
¡gracias!
Cool video and nice project! This was fun to watch! well done my friends.
Yay thank you!
It's been a nice series

Awesome!! Hope you love it 💕
Looks really great you two!
Simply beautiful!
Awesome! Love and blessings from South Africa ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Very nice and minimalistic. Molly with the fists😂

Hehe no sanding!
How well will the total boat hold up in the AZ sun? I have yet to find anything that lasts longer than a year.
Nothing can last forever in that heat. Almost everything will need a recoat. Look for a good expoxy resin

Not totally sure, but this is made to be put on boats in all kinds of conditions with excellent UV protection!
Hey quick question about the total boat finish can it be applied over paint or stain, doing a similar outdoor project and thinking about adding a little color not just the natural wood.
Yes! It can be applied over stain and paint:) Be sure the surface is thoroughly dry and clean!
This is not DIY, this is industrial tools that absolutely nobody will buy just to build one table
Very nice! =)
What kind of wood did you guys use?
Pine!
Did you guys have to plane or take the rounded edges off of your 4x4’s? At the box stores near me I think they don’t sell them without the rounded edges.
That's why they planned them.
You dont have to plane at all. Just gives a more totally flush look. You could use a table saw or not even bother with it.
Can you spray that finish? I'm building a large outdoor table and need to finish it.
Yes you can!
@Woodbrew, the article link seems incorrect. Goes to your chair build. Just FYI
Nice! :)
How long does that finish last outdoors?
Exxelent
☺️☺️☺️
Why not to use wood joints??
Hey there, awesome table. Can you send me material list and instructions on that sofa.
www.woodbrew.tv/product/outdoor-sofa-plans/ :)
Thanks
I think I would just use pocket hole screws or dominos for this instead of the aluminium
👍🏼❤️👍🏼❤️👍🏼
Awesome! Sometimes I wish that you could buy finished lumber without rounded edges...
I know! It would save a ton of time
@B&A Woodshop Europe? I live in Canada
You can if you buy furniture grade material rather than building materials.
@@OneManBandWoodworksWoodworks but not in rough lumber correct?

😲😲😀😀👍
where you get the top from?
HomeDepot:)
Personally i would rather have screws from top than having visible L profile
Cost efficient
Goood
Build plans for this? The link in the description shows a link to a sofa not coffee table plan lol
Unfortunately, no plans for the coffee table!

What is the name of the first song? It hit me on a spiritual level 👽
Haha its called Never Never by Solar Body!
Классно!!
Вот только сочетание дерева и алюминия в данном случае ...не кашерно как-то
Спасибо!
DIY. Who has a planer?
Use a hand planer, or a power hand planer, or a table saw... There are almost always other options. Also, I'm a hobbyist woodworker and I have a planer. You can get them pretty reasonably priced, especially if you are willing to buy them used.
You don't need a planer if you got a table saw. They only used it to get rid of rounded edges.
When woodwork was my hobby I had a better planer than when it became my business
Use wax on ur blade and it well last a lot longer ... love ur videos :)
Cool, thanks!
@@Woodbrew YW ... enjoy ur videos very much... Thank you for making them :)
Appreciated but a waste of wood volume.
Lol. thanks I guess?

What? Looks like a typical diablo 60 tooth blade? Don't see the issue

Alu angle bar join looks shit :-(
Whale then

We work with a few companies, but honestly you can do so much with less! A circular saw and some drills can be your best friend :)

What a waste of timber
poor skill..
