The point of it is, Kira should survive no mater what. He's the mc. The problem is, the writer doesn't how to make it a dire suspense and realistic at the same time even if it'll kill them.. A good example of this is Yuujis' death in Jujitsu kaisen. We all know that he'll survive, but how he survives is explained well.. Kira's cass however, was NOT.
Kira is the only one talent made coordinator whose body is like super saiyan. In many episode we can see how differently his brain and body is superior than other normal coordinators. The episode he fell to atmosphere in strike cockpit with super high temperature explained this. Maybe other coordinators died to in the same situation even though they are still stronger than normal natural person
In the Gundam SEED manga that has Yaoi-looking ass artwork (no offense, just not my cup of tea), Kira jumped out of the sliced open cockpit, and was blown back similar to Athrun and then drifts onto the beach of Reverend's place. Astray manga has it where the cockpit wasn't as sliced open and the protection shutter closed in time and saved Kira, which our favourite Junk Guild member that was lurking nearby, pulls Kira out, and brings him to Reverend. My head canon is that Kira jumped out, gets blown away, and then Lowe brings him to Reverend.
It's almost like people die in war or something 🤔 who woulda guessed fighting leads to death more so in giant mechs that have huge swords. It's almost like it's inevitable

Of the two explanations they offered, the second seems most probable but it's understandable why people would have issues with Kira surviving.
