    What do you know, you actually got the 2021 and 2022 NL Cy Youngs

      Huh, did not expect that looking back! Dylan Cease also finished second in Cy Young voting this last season, and Ranger Suarez has been pretty good.

    When i start a franchise i enable all leagues (kinda sucks as siming through takes like 10 to 30 seconds every day though) and every offseason i open free agents (MLB) and click on the nationality row to sort by than go into every nationality -> players tab and sort by potential, picking up every player with 2.5 star (2 if they're really young) potential guy i can. Each will cost you 250k in cash so don't go too crazy. My best picks tend to come out of australia though xD so be sure to save at least a million bucks for that lol. Anyway i look up and it's 15 years in the future and my ace and MVP players are all aussie lol I'm like wow. Anyway columbia, dr, and venezuela can be good too.

      So yeah you unf can't purchase from npb (japan, korea), cuba, or cpbl (china, taiwan) or euro leagues but you can from lmb (mexico) and independent leagues... You'll get the hang of it xD BIG spreadsheets like usa or... Mainly just usa xD i sort by league trust me you'll thank me for it lol

    I will say this. I know many Phillies fan, Kingery being popular is a lie.

      I have no doubt. OOTP is certainly not the most reflective for stuff like this, and who would root for a guy who's not producing on a relatively hefty contract?

    If I know where they are, I’ve figured out the “how to find them” thing, right?

    • @sgtmushroom
      @sgtmushroom  2 роки тому

      Not quite, the idea is to find new ones once you get to fictional players (and keep up after live updates)

    HELP :
    - What kind of scout do you prioritize : ability OR favor tools ?
    - How do you allocate scouting budget ?
    - Do you max out development budget ?
    - If I sign a prospect , and play him in major league immediately, will he still develop faster or slower if he develops at all ?

    • @sgtmushroom
      @sgtmushroom  3 роки тому +3

      Highly favour tools every single time. You should never hire any other kind of kind of scout. I do 8/20/30/42 for my scouting budget. I put money into my development budget first, that is my top priority every time. Prospects tend to develop more slowly in the majors, but if they're ready then it would hurt them more to leave them in the minors

      @@sgtmushroom For my team I put all scouting budget in Amateurs and International, none in Majors or Minors. Rebuilding team the Detroit Tigers 2022 season.

    Is this player pool still the case for OOTP 22? or are there more players of this ilk that could be considered undervalued when playing with a budget restricted franchise? Love the videos dude

    Second video I've seen where you mention Luis Gonzalez. Now he's .350 for the Giants in real life!

    • @1who4me

      He’s batting .263 as of now. And he is prone to mental lapses. Wouldn’t exactly call him a value player.

    My first targets were dylan carlson (might be difficult to get but he's SO good and just 21) and brian anderson from the marlins (i grabbed edmond cabrera too there while i was at it) i emediately traded anderson for nick senzel. Alec Thomas from the dbacks is a cornerstone center feilder (after a year or two of maturation) who will come cheap.

    How important is amateur preference for tools vs ability? Or your scouts ratings vs budget?

    • @sgtmushroom
      @sgtmushroom  3 роки тому +1

      I cannot confidently tell you how much those things matter against each other, but here's what you need to know- You need to have a favour tools scout. On VERY rare occasions, it will make sense to take a normal favour tools over highly favour tools, but you almost always want highly favour tools. Just take the best HFT scout you can find by ratings. You should also put literally as much cash into your budget as you can. I have heard of so many teams that they thought were built well but sucked, and it turned out it was because their scout gave them totally inaccurate ratings. It cannot really be overstressed how important having an optimal scout is.

    I’ve traded for Clarke Schmidt pretty much every game and he’s been amazing. An above average SP that has good personality that you can take from the yanks for basically nothing

    • @sgtmushroom
      @sgtmushroom  3 роки тому +4

      Clarke Schmidt, along with fellow Yanks Deivi Garcia and Albert Abreu, are definitely in that second tier of players that are good value but not so elite that I would've included them here.
