OLD IS GOLD! Driving a £1 MILLION Ferrari 250 Pininfarina

- The LaFerrari Aperta leads the way to start off Ferrari's 70th anniversary celebrations! To mark the occasion the first convoy with Meridien Modena takes more than 70 Ferrari owners on a drive from the Goodwood Motor Circuit to Portsmouth and for the journey I'm handed the keys to a Ferrari 250 GT Pininfarina from 1959, worth nearly £1 million.
On my channel you'll more normally see the more modern supercars but this is a truly special opportunity to drive a classic car that plays a big role in Ferrari's history and particularly the relationship with Pininfarina. The various models of Ferrari 250 such as the 250 GTO, 250 SWB and 250 California have huge provenance but it's an interesting to comparison to look at the 250 GT Pininfarina (or 250 PF for short) as the equivalent to an 812superfast of its day. Luxurious, comfortable, fast, with a 3l Colombo V12, 4 speed manual with overdrive, and some cosmetic upgrades found on other models.
Surrounded by other models including: F40, F50, F12tdf, Speciale and everything from the current line-up, taking part with the 250 PF made the event truly memorable.
A huge thanks to Meridien Modena for the hospitality and opportunity to jump behind the wheel of such a car, and of course to Ferrari for this being possible!
Thanks for watching, Tim

great👍👍👍
I think that's the nicest car you have had on your channel!! More classics!! :)
If you had your pick would you rather drive something Like a Muira or something like a Centenario?
I have a CMC Model of a 1961 Ferrari 250 gt Lm. It lots of ways what your driving is cooler than a La Ferrari Alperta.
I noticed you pressing the brake and clutch as you started her. I'm guessing that's a muscle memory reflex from starting the modern cars.
God I love 250 Ferraris. Thank you so much for this Tim!
What a masterpiece! Those 250 series are way above today's Ferraris
2:35 Shmee's running doe :`) lmfao
SPIKY hihi
Absolutely beautiful. I would take it over that LaFerrari every day. Just pure art. Just imagine that 250, a pretty girl next to you, driving along casually down the coast of Italy. Ahhhh.
no engine shot :(
This one got to be one of the best episodes, that old car and its sounds and your enthusiasm is just an epic win!
You know you're early when the view count is still in double digits. (Notification squad!)
Welcome and thanks for stopping by so soon!
We want more classic car videos Shmee!!
£1M for a car of which there are only 8 examples in that spec is surely a bargain??
I thought an old Ferrari like this could be worth around £10m with the amount of examples as you said. A Ferrari GTO can go for £10m+ and they made many more of them for racing.
+Neuromancer you can easily find this car for 500K£
Today for 1M you are in the lusso range prices are going down
It dont have the racing-pedigree of the GTO and others. That make the whole difference of price.
The lines of that car.. The sound.. The everything.. This type of Ferrari, the 250 GTs, 330 GTs.. Right up my alley. ..but man i wouldn't have the balls to drive a car that expensive on the road, but it must have been an amazing experience.
hey shmee after watching your videos for a year i found out that a car collection is more important than a hypercar keep up[ the good work
it's so cool you were taking critics and try to find out more about oldtimers! i really appreciate that!!!
I would always prefer an old Ferrari over a modern one. Lemme say like everything after the F40.
Sniparator | Big Boss absolutely. Modern cars are almost too fast. The 50's and 60's Ferrari's were pure art. You don't have to drive fast in one. They just exude pure class.
Hey, look! A LaFerrari Aperta....the one car David Lee can't get his greedy hands on!*
very nice car bro.Continue the good work you're awsome :D
Thanks for the support!
Shmee150 no problem :D
O.K. Tim, now I am officially jealous, what a great way to spend your day!
More of this Tim! Rather see something like this on the channel. Something like a 330 GT 2+2 should be within budget?
Nothing is nicer in automotive world than the 50s and 60s Ferraris. Nothing.
This was one of your best videos, Tim! Absolutely beautiful Ferrari from another age. I loved the video where you drove the Miura, too. I know your channel is focused mainly on modern supercars but I am sure many of us would enjoy more videos with classics. Looking forward for a video driving some other classic maybe a 300SL
I would love to see more classic cars on your channel!
I have an italian father, how could I not love all things Ferrari. the car was already two when I was born.
It was me being a fanboy in the car park at the end of the event yesterday 😂 was cool to see the RS
Excellent! I've always wanted to hear your take of an older classic sports car.
nice to see classics now and then
What an experience! Nice one Tim!
It is so GREAT to see you in a CLASSIC car. They're so MUCH more interesting than new cars. There's a dark green 1989 Ferrari 412 in the UK at Daniel Donovan Classics which would make a super interesting video, as would seeing you drive classics like a MGA and MGB. I learned to drive in a 1971 MGB when my brother came home from Viet Nam, then later in a 1967 Jaguar E-Type convertible. Thumbs up from the states Tim !!!
I so wish they would bring back cars like this, pure driving experience and being smaller so much more practical on modern roads. I really hope you do more vintage cars Tim.
Oh and to my ears this sounds so much better than the high revving buzzy super cars made now.
The superior man perseveres long in his course, adapts to the times, but remains firm in his direction and correct in his goals....and this man is Schmee150 "The Oracle of the automotive world"....
Awesome video Tim, was amazed to see you driving round Clanfield in Hampshire where I live.!! :) there are lots of great country roads around the area. Beautiful car.
I'm sure that was quite a thrill to be driving in. I think it is a privilege to be driving a legend worth a million dollars.
Love the GT 250. Have more classics on your show
Cars just looked far more attractive and stylish in the 50's.
I think Tim you like more the modern cars, but this is a realy big hoor, very Shmeelicious 😲😲😲😲😲😲😛😜😂😜😛😜😂😜😛😜😂😜😛😜😂😜😛😜😂😜😛👌
Great to see the forunners of the modern supercars, also the modern equivallents. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Regards, Bob South Wales
you always look genuinely happy on your videos, i love that
a true fan here, thanks for each video you posted here, really
Such a good idea to show us this kind of amazing car, any electronic inside and even not a bling bling car
Very cool, this car was in the Ferrari convoy i filmed on Sunday in Lymington, you can't miss it with that horn :)
Keep it up shmee , great work man !!!
Old ferrari by far my favourite
keep it coming! we love daily vids
Love the uploads to my lunchtime :)
Coworkers already mock me for watching everyday :D
Haha, well thank you for the support
IMO Best looking Ferrari yet!
Maridnia Modena was like damm right your not getting no where near the top speed today lol
its such a cool car!
THANKS, TIM AND CREW
Keep up the good work, love the Ferrari 😊 why don't you have a car like that? 😊
Unfortunately they are rather expensive...
Shmee150 that's true, but it's a beautiful car 😊
It's funny that you have straps for your bag but not for you in this car.
a nice refreshing change from all the modern stuff,I watched your miura drive.
any other classics to drive on your bucket list Tim?
How splendid indeed. Have a lovely day Lord Billingsworth.
Amazing Tim! I love your life! :dd
Lived there for three months, not seen a single supercar. I'm gone and now there's a Ferrari event...
Supremely jealous Tim that is an absolute beauty! I would love to see you do more tours of private and public collections, I always really enjoy your videos looking at epic wheels! Could you maybe do a Beaulieu motor museum vid at some point? Anyway keep up the good work, your lifestyle is insane!
Cool seeing you down in Pompey shmee, thats where I go to uni, only wish I had been down there at the time of this event.
I once drove a 1960 250GT series II cabriolet and it was epic. Steering was heavy and dull at low speeds (thank god someone invented power steering), the clutch pedal required 50 lbs of pressure to depress, and the brakes were non-existent. But the sound......oh that sound......it was symphonic. The raw emotion of a 60s era Ferrari is like nothing else. It's a dream. Enjoy the ride shmee....it's once in a lifetime.
hey shmee, maybe you can do a comparison between your FF and the old 456gt and 612. It could be fun to see how far things have come.
I would have that old Ferrari over the Laferrari any day. No question.
Never seen him smile this much..:)
that aperta is soo beautiful
great video😊😊👍👍👍
I once drove a classic vw beetle from the 1960's era.
Great video
*I think I like the horn....more than the car itself?*
wow kool are you guys still about in, I live in Portsmouth
Do you plan some day to come Budapest and check out Josh Cartu's LaFerrari Aperta?
Living the dream Shmee
I would be terrified to drive something that expensive.
~Anyone else hoping to see my personal favorite, the Ferrari Pininfarina P4/5?~
My favourite ferrari is the 575m. Like the one Steve coogan had on top gear and the one will smith drives in bad boys 2.
WHAT A LUCK MY BRO !
intro should be: "hi guys it's shmee"😀
shmee should get his own car show.
It'd be great if they could build the old cars again...somehow passing current safety regulations.etc etc...!!! 👍😀
2:00 dat voice break though
annoyed is an understatement... this was on and I was at work?! damn it :(
The front is like a Peugeot 404 coupé !
As an ex-paramedic the idea of no seat belts, your knees hitting the lower dash and your face and chest impacting the steering wheel gives me nightmares. Lovely car though the 250.
You had me at V12 :P
Saw you running in the background Tim min237
will you be staying in the UK after goodwood or will you be travelling abroad again??
Always on the move pretty much
Beautiful car .
When Brexit is finished it will be worth £2 MILLION :(
Hurry getting yours then!
any chance to get there with my peugeot 307cc
classic cars fit you
First French in the video, bonjour de France Shmee on espère te revoir à Paris
was this lad brought up in a normal background his camera work seems he might have been!!
That Columbo V12 made the LaF sound silly.
I've been in the superamerica you saw!
I'm fairly sure the 500 Superfast was the 812 Superfast of the day, rather obviously xD Good Video though
has this made you want to add an old supercar to your lineup one day
1959 and a V12
dayum
Shmee will u come back to Scotland sometime?
Yup ;)
Uh Tim the 4.9 L Lampredi engined Superamerica was MUCH MORE LIKE the 812 Superfast of the day.
...or the original Superfasts...
wow
you should post racing supercar with your friends!!!😊
I love the Ferrari F40....
Look at Shmee, Tim, run in the background on 2:35
gold
Your camera has an excellent OIS
It is the BOS sensor fully hardware driven.
No seat belts in the 250 GT?
I wouldn't feel safe driving it.
Are the goodwoods finish?
Nope still a lot of Goodwood content to come
