"You can leave Cuba but Cuba will never leave you"
Immigration is heavily restricted, requiring pricey passports, exit visas.
I wish many Cubans here in south Florida would watch this video, many of my friends born here, have deep in their soul, a bitter angry disgraceful feeling about Cuba, as if the only Cubans in the island, are those in the goverment..increribly a person like your self, that hardly lived there, in search who You are, have done so, by been mature, acceptance of the reality, and moving on, shows your humble level of intellectuality, returning is the only way, to bring change by embracing the people, not by living in the past, not by blaming while doing nothing about it. thank you so much, I can totally relate, i was 19 when i came, i thought my self English, I do not have the best grammar, but most people understand what i write..thank you for sharing
😍
Most Miamians of today were not born in 1980 or are from different places but they all say the same thing. Cuban's seem to want some individuals to suffer as they did on there island and with the power of the masses it has been quite difficult to live in Miami if your not cuban.
@@tookes9 you are so right, humans are like that. Sad.
This was a very moving video for me. I also left Cuba as a child. You are fortunate to have been able to return. Thank you for sharing.
So what is the difference between cubans who left back then and cubans who still live there today that are your age?
@@NinaPenson_13 Those who left back then as children, grew up and were educated in the free world. We are used to individual freedom....take it for granted even. We formed families and now have children and grandchildren who have never seen Cuba. However, Cuba has always stayed within our hearts and we pass our love for it on to the next generations. Those left behind have lived under oppression for 60+ years. Their children and grandchildren know no other option. They have to conform or be marginalized, yet, their cultural passion is just as strong. Even though we resettled in all parts of the world, we recognize each other on sight. Although our Diaspora is long standing and far reaching our Cubaness comes through for us every time and we immediately identify and acknowledge it when we meet each other, be it in Spain, Italy, the UK or Japan. Our common identity is always a source of joy and comfort wherever we are.
@@Ravensonng that’s awesome. That’s very beautiful. Yeah I genuinely asked because as of this past election cycle I’ve been curious about Cubans and that entire culture. I’ve been doing a lot of historical research as well but honestly sometimes talking to someone from that culture helps even more. I only have one Cuban friend in my life, and he’s from Miami! I believe either his parents or grandparents fled Cuba. I’m not sure which one. But he’s the only Cuban person I’ve met and I’m from the Midwest haha
@@Ravensonng Milwaukee Wisconsin to be exact haha
Nunca Olvides a Tu Bella Isla Cuba 🇨🇺 ♥️ 🇨🇺
Im glad he was able to go back to cuba
But the same politics of Cuba are being practiced everyday in Miami.
Great story, l love Cuba! My husband is Cuban n I'm Mexican we go every year for a month. For the sake of the Cuban People, there really needs to be some changes on both sides, meaning Cuba n USA, starting with the end to the EMBARGO.....
Puerto Rico love Cuba.
Thank you. I too left as a kid.
My parents and Grandmother and Great Grandmother and a Handful of Uncle and Aunts ,most have die here in the USA , except Mother ,they all left in 56, Precastrol , I was born in 59, and grew up in mix society , yes , I have seen so much unjust and Racist in America growing up , sadly , I have a Dozen of cousins but all Divided with self-centered ego in MIAMI , but when I went to Cuba during ''Obama Term , I discover a world of family in Cuba nobody talk about ,Those poor Family have suffer lots of Hardship by staying in Cuba , but they stay pure in HEART .
How can a tidal wave of people ruin everything? There's nothing there
The eternal wait of Cuban redundancy.
A very thoughtful piece.
garglefunt wat do you mean?
¡Viva la Revolución y el Che! ¡Viva el socialismo! ¡Yo soy Fidel! 🇨🇺☭
Very nice piece, thank you!
Es triste lo que éramos y lo que ahora es Cuba, solo me pregunto hasta cuando
Ese video es filmado ,en Haiti 🇭🇹.oiga no despretigien tanto a Cubita
The Cuban refugees traveled to the United States, perhaps unknowingly, on a one-way ticket and unconditionally. Here, they were transformed into exiles by cryptic forces. Eventually, under a common name, the motley was assimilated into the foreign milieu as rabid citizens of two cultures. When they had nothing, they appealed to the rich; when they had enough, they called on the poor. www.gate.net/joachim/
I was an American Soldier boat lift I understand your plight you're my brothers we don't speak the same language but we all come from Africa America created this crisis now is the time to fix it we all American one nation under God don't let him stop the flow of migrants coming to this country because of our country first we were here and it came with the disease smallpox and all this stuff the Europeans did that the supremacy white supremacy now we have to change that. Maria
You are born in Cuba & left the country when Batista dictator ruled the countrymen me give you an example Vietnam, Cambodia & Laos US did not gave any embargo .They are flourishing these countries. Cuban Health system & Immunology, Orthopedic & world famous .Look in US no doctors & nurses visit door to door & medicine.Like you I am also frustrated
with US Government policy. Can you see the difference of killing the people irrespective of the racial descrimination in Cuba,But in US everyday killing racial hate and many more.Human Rights are violated.Free Embergo to Cuba let it be normal situation,They will raise agin, return Guantamo Bay place to Cuba. What is the difference between Donkey Donald Trump & Joe Biden ?..
Beautiful video
Great video!
Return with a pocket full of cash you have the best of both worlds
Ohh mi barrio de Miramar yo viví en 3ra y 20 y recuerdo ese parque de 5ta ave entre 24 y 26 por ahí estaba la embajada de Bélgica y la iglesia santa Rita yo vivía a una calle del ferretero club
Why so many dislikes?
Question? Are Afro-Cubans marginalized? It seems to be that they are the ones that stay behind considering that some say that they are the majority.
There are A LOT of interracial marriages in Cuba the people are very mixed together.
There's a lot of mixing of the races in my family we have white, black, brown, Chinese. I had never seen Chinese Cubans till I got to Miami. My mother had always told me about them that they were always smoking opium when she would go by their houses.
¡Viva la Revolución y Fidel! ¡Viva el Socialismo! 🇨🇺☭

@@mariamendez4459 >90% of Cubans have their own homes, more Americans are spending their half of their income on housing.
Explain to me why 37 million Americans are unensured for healthcare and 60,000 of them die each year due to lack of health coverage?
You managed to insult blue eyed people and Swiss people in the same breath. Shame on you.
Don’t worry...I am a blue eyed Swiss and didn’t bother 😂😂
But I know exactly what he means when saying this ,having been to Cuba several times,in the house of Dora Alonso while she was still alive
