How can you not root for a baby with a name like Butter Bean :D They all go through so many changes in their young lives. It must be difficult and confusing trying to adjust, but I'm so glad most of the little ones do just fine. And, we come to this channel to check out the babies, but it touches my heart too how the Foster Mom's needs are being met too in taking the young ones under their wings. (Haha, I am fully aware that it is "my" needs being met by watching these videos ;) Thanks, bunches!
lbird lol well I’m glad you’re enjoying it no matter who’s needs are being satisfied! 😋
Hannah Smith You’re right! He’s an incredible little monkey. What’s funny is that anyone can name the monkeys as long as they are on the list and they donate to name. So we didn’t name stick, but the irony is that Stick was attacked by a dog and the person who named him named him after her friends dog who’s name was stick, cause he liked chasing sticks so much. Lol a strange full circle situation.
lbird Same here...it is comforting and reassuring like someone gets a do over maybe not what we asked for but what we needed kind of a happily ever after...its so cool to see such sweet unselfish nurturing group of people. I wish we could see a video of what a day in the life of an employee at this foundation looks like..incredibly busy without question.
Absolutely Tamara Kennedy. I hear and agree with what you are saying. Btw: I asked that same question to Kyle recently. He said he does plan on doing more
videos about the employees, etc., but until then there are some older videos about volunteering at the VMF. They truly are such an amazing group of people. I love these videos that Kyle produces. Blessings, have a great day!
Poor Stick, it looks like he's wearing half pants, I hope he's better soon. Thanks for the great job you all are doing.
emutak1218 hahahha totally half pants. But half pants only a doctor can remove.

They are so tiny and adorable cute little face baby monkey
I feel like I'm a great judge of character, especially when it comes to how people treat animals. I say that to say this - the ppl that work at Vervet Forest are so kind, humane, compassionate and competent.. This is quite a story! Finally, humans that really actually do care about others than themselves. Love it!
Thank you! :)
Your all member is my salute

Amazy how step up take orphans.
Awesome. Thank you
When does the next baby season start I can't wait to see more baby monkeys and the great staff of loving caring people
kimberly pegues very soon. Generally the end of October, beginning of November. I’m excited too!
They think they are on top of the world and living their best live and then things just get better, they get a mom, and don’t really know that more magic will happen again their world will get bigger as will their families when they join their troop.
It must be such a pleasure to go to work.
Stick looks high as a kite from the meds. LoL Glad hes doing better ;)
Harlow Monroe hahahaha yes he was😄
Babies r adorable
I would love to be able to help these baby monkeys I wish we had a place like this where I live
Donations are a great way to help from a distance, we will also have sponsorship packages available this next baby season so that you can help an individual monkey directly.
Aww Stick we are all rooting for u.
They are so pretty
About a minute in it looked like Shimesh? Was crying
Do the vervet moms normally have twins, in nature? If so, I suppose That's why the foster mom's choose 2 babies?
Poor Angel Butter Bean 💙💙💙

When will Merlin move to an intro cage?
JC Eberle .....I am confused, maybe you will help, unconfused me. What do yo mean “move into the cage”?.
Thanks JC.
Oh! I see! You wrote intro cages. My mistake, thanks any way.
JC Eberle soon, very soon
Do you guys have any new videos where can I find more
L.L Mom new episodes come out every Thursday. And I’ve got other stuff for the channel in the works. 😊 please remember to like the videos and share them with your friends 😁✌️
STICK 🤣❤️❤️❤️🐒🐒🐒
Why do you have to keep the age groups separated? Than gradually move them up as they age? Why can't you just mix them up straight away?
Stephanie Woods I’m not exactly sure what you mean. Could u elaborate? We don’t keep different age groups separated, so maybe you’re referring to something else that is making you think of different age groups?
What I mean is the babies are all together with staff than as they grow that move up to other enclosures. Maybe I'm misunderstanding. Do you move the babies into the general population after a short while ?
Stephanie Woods so it’s not necessarily based on age. There are many factors involved. Merlin for example was older than many of the babies that moved on before him, but he was in such poor health that he needed to stay behind before he could move to meet moms. The main criteria for the orphans to meet the moms is that they can drink from the bottle inside the feeding cage on their own. Once they can do that, at any age, they can then be introduced to the mothers. But it is only at three months old that they can be released with the moms into the troop. So what you’re seeing is a variety of ages mixed together, like Norah and Shemesh were easily a month apart in age, but it made sense to move them together. Does that help to clarify?
Makes perfect sense!! Thanks for taking the time to clarify!!! Love your channel so much! I would give anything to come volunteer, maybe someday
May I ask...”Is it dangerous for them to be released before 3 months of age?” Is that the age that they’re fully weaned? Or are they in danger of harm by other monkeys if they’re released earlier than 3 months?
Hannah is your drama queen...every family has one😏
hahahaha!
What Type Of Milk The Babies Are Fed?
Lillie Herold soy milk.
I love what you guys & ladies do. You are nothing like those "idiots" in Cambodia that abuse the hell out of several different types of monkeys for $$! And do I mean I mean abuse of the sort/type that this 54 yr old woman was completely niave of!!
Are the foster mom troops previous rescues?
Ophelia S almost all of the monkeys here are rescues. We are a non breeding facility. But, not all rescues were orphans. Yes some of the foster moms were orphans, but many also came in at older ages due to injuries or being ex pets, etc.
Thanks for clearing that up. I kind of figured it would be weird if it was some random troop from outside the rescue. The foster moms are pretty cool with being in the enclosures. Love watching this channel. and the babies. They look so cuddly. Especially when they sleep.
Poor boy he’s so tired maybe the meds
Is this breed as aggressive as the ones a bafoon temple?
Dang! That poor baby!
Are these Foster moms, nursing moms?
Celia White not that we know of. This is why the babies must learn to use the feeding cage.
@@VervetMonkey so then the only milk they get is from the cage that is set up with the bottles. So when they are put out with the Troop and their Foster moms they are able to eat on their own and forge for food. Do they get to come back into any of the enclosures?
Celia White theoretically the only milk they get is from the feeding cage once they are in the troop. But I’m beginning to believe it’s possible that some of the foster mothers lactate once they form a bond with the babies. But this is purely a theory and I have no scientific evidence to back it up yet. Yes, they can forage and get to their own food, this is why we wait till they are three months old to let them out into the troop, I explained it in more detail a couple of episodes back. You should check out the Q&A episode it answers a lot of questions in detail. The only reason we bring them back into an enclosure is if they are having an issue.
@@VervetMonkey thank you for your responses on all my questions. This is very interesting, thank you for all yall are doing. 🐵💖🐒
'Super chill'
Okay Kyle...time to be a grown up...
Amy Less Nope! No way! Never!

How we miss Kyle!
Poor baby can't get comfortable.
Knocked his ass right the fuck out wow
👍😊
How much are green monkey
I dont think you can put a price on, kidnaping, pain, suffering, torment and neglect it should be a crime
Kyle! Your awfully thin. Eat kiddo!
I think Stick needs to get out of the tree so he can actual rest without trying to find a branch that actually has enough sticks to hold him up.
I hate when they let a baby cling to another baby. They say oh they don't mind. Yes when they try to walk they do move climb they mind. Why do they let a baby do that? The other baby can not be a mother
dont worry it does not happen for long and if anythin becomes to obssesive we will intervene, we did not start doing this yesterday
If only "the clinger" didn't look like a pained 136 year old man, it might be cute. But yeah, ,the other monkey sure looked frustrated like, "I'm not your therapist, bro! I've got places to go and people to see and you're holding me back. Thank you very much!"
Kyle yoy need to gain some weight dude
Omg Butter Bean 💔
Eagles gotta eat, feed their young. Far more endangered than primates . Love primates though.
I hate the feeding cage, especially bottles sticking out for the babies to drink from. I really can not think of a worse way to treat babies, even if they are monkeys instead of humans......that's just cold blooded.
Hi Sarah, what is it that you do for a living and what is your experience working with wild animals especially primates. I'd love to have a logical and calm conversation to explain to you why this is necessary and important and actually not cruel at all. I think I can help you to understand if you'd just give me a chance and let go of any of your pre conceived notions.
@@VervetMonkey yeah, go with insults, that's going to help.
@Valdis4418 of course I called them cold blooded, that's what they are. They're also not fit to be around animals, and their responses proved it just as much as their actions do, which are cold blooded, and abusive. They are insulting because they don't know how to be anything else. There was no restraint in their ignorance. Give yourself a break so that you can get educated, just like they need to be.
After the babies bond with foster mothers, they're released with their new parents who then introduce them to their respective troops. And, since the foster mothers are not their actual mothers, they don't produce milk, hence the necessity of the feeding cages, those cold-blooded things with the bottles sticking out for the babies to drink from.
"Why a cage?" a mature, less presumptuous person might ask. Well, watch a couple of "baby monkey" videos and you might notice... monkeys are assholes. They really are. A mother will eat fifteen bananas in front of her offspring and not share so much as a single lick of one peel. Older siblings will try ripping a newborn off their mother's nipple simply because they're jealous. I've even seen a mother and daughter actually pry open a baby monkey'smouth to extract and eat the food it was storing in it's cheek pouches. And if a baby, knocking on death's door from starvation, were to be given a life-preserving piece of fruit from a concerned human being, you can rest assured an older, stronger monkey will come along and snatch it right out of the baby's hands, and eat it right in front of it's face without an ounce of concern because, as much as I like them, monkeys really are some greedy ass creatures. So... those cold-blooded cages are quite necessary.
"How's the cage prevent the older monkeys from stealing the milk?" an inquisitive, less presumptuous person might ask. Well, the holes are only big enough for the babies to get through. Genius, right? You've got babies heading off to milk bars whenever they are hungry, not having to worry about starving to death. Genius, no? Probably not, right? You'd prefer "Susie" come out and handfeed them five bottles a day while stroking their heads and making lip-smacking sounds, but that's about as rational as your comment.
They are, in fact, monkeys and not humans. They live outdoors. They sleep in trees. They eat off the ground. They don't wipe after dropping dueces, and they sniff ass on the regular. So, there's really nothing cold-blooded about a few bottles sticking out of a few cages so that some baby monkeys can have themselves a drink of milk.
And, I think you need therapy or religion or maybe a return to school because something is off about you, if you don't take care of your issues before it's too late, I forsee a future in which you're living outdoors, eating off the ground and failing to wipe after you poo. A lot of mentally ill people end up homeless, you deserve better than that Sarah.
@@illiturit1151 so, in other words, you don't know what you're talking about at all, but you like the way it sounds when you talk. 😏
