I have been running my tank with just sponge filters & doing gravel vac. It is definitely enough biological filtration to handle the load of the tank, but I found it wasn’t handling the mechanical filtration as well & I wanted higher flow as well. I added a small hang on back filter to the tank with the sponge filters & that did the trick! It was just enough mechanical filtration to polish the water & really improved my flow, even for one rated far below my tank size of 55 gallons. My 2 cents is add a few mid-sized & inexpensive HOB filters (especially to pleco tank) rather than the canisters & they will do the job just as well & will be easier to maintain! Less gravel vacuuming. Great looking tanks!
Thanks! I agree there. If need be, I’ll slap an aquaclear 70 or 50 on the back of my 75 and put filter floss in the back of it for polishing, etc. when it comes time, pull out the floss, rinse it out, and stick it back in. Bam bam. Lol. That Marineland canister breaks my back pulling it out from under the tank.

I prefer a canister BUT one cannot deny the EASY factor of a sponge.
If I only had one or two tanks, I would run canisters on them. Not Marinelands though. Lol.
How much for the 107?
I thin the 107 is 130 or so. It’s a good little canister.
If you mean for sale, I think I’ll keep it. I know me and I sometimes go through phases. Lol.
