I like this recipe. I made the same thing, almost. I used yellow cake mix, 1 cup oats, 1 cup brown sugar, 2 tsp of cinnamon, 2 sticks melted butter. Put the pie filling in pan. Mix together cake mix, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter. Spread on top of pie filling and bake @ 350 for about 35-40 minutes or until nicely golden. I thought this was easier, it eliminated the cup of flour, and other extra ingredients. Delicious just like his version was.
I'm so glad i found your video ! I wanted to make a peach dump cake with a crumble top and worried it wouldn't be worth ruining it but my hunger said look on UA-cam and you were the ONLY one that i found ! I subscribed and will be be trying more of your recipes.
Thank you for the video. I'm going to make this week end, I love dump cake and making it into a crisp is even better. I've never use a spice cake mix for a dump cake. I use it when I do a fruit cake.
Uh, guys, before you COPY the list of RECIPE INGREDIENTS, please note that Ken FORGOT to list down 1/2 cup melted butter for the CRISP, and 3/4 cup melted butter for the Dump. You're welcome, Ken. I'm forgetful too!
Hi, Thanks for asking. I think I intended to spary tha pan with nonstick, but forgot. It turned out fine without it. Also, I do keep a cookie sheet covered in foil on the bottom rack of my oven. Not just to catch anything that drips, but also to keep the bottom of my pan from getting direct heat from the lower heating element. In my mind, this helps to prevent scorching on the bottom and provide more even cooking.

I made one with the apples , cake mix and butter and thought it was sweet enough !
They are sweet. Hope you enjoy.
Looks yummy, could you use fresh apples?
I haven't tried that, but I don't know a reason not to. Thank You.

Thank you, I am making the corrections right now. I can't believe I forgot Butter of all things. WOW. Thanx again!!
You didn’t say if you greased the pan before putting in the apples. I guess with that much butter you don’t have to??
