Pandemic Studios rocked. They're exactly what the videogame industry is missing today -- games that don't have quite the massive budget of first-party titles but are bursting with creativity and dev passion. This game STILL provides a niche that no videogame in its wake ever captured (aside from elements of Just Cause I guess) .
I know, right? Yeah, I guess you could think of JC as the spiritual successor to mercenaries.
Metal Gear Solid V has as much freedom of gameplay as Mercenaries 1, and it's open world too. Highly recommend!
I don't know how this game popped in my mind. Gone are those days when I will have sleepless nights by staying glued to this game.
They should Re-Release it on the PlayStation 4

Black Cx even though South Korea banned the game, it was lifted years later, but sometime they are going to get it developed by some other company

I just bought this game in a local market in my country, brand new and still factory sealed, that tells you a lot of how underrated this game was. Love this game.

@@arttheclown9458 even if he doesn't take care of the case, it doesn't really matter. You can get the game for 15 bucks on ebay in perfect condition. Unfortunately things like this aren't collectables worth anything.
Mercenaries Playground of Destruction is so damn good! I like the characters, the story was so damn good, the graphics are amazing, playing as three badass mercenary characters is so damn good, missions are so fun, either you capture the target or kill the target to complete the contract is an awesome addition, and the explosions in this game are so damn badass nice! Overall Mercenaries Playground of Destruction is an AMAZING BADASS GAME EVER MADE!!
I always loved it when you would tear down builds how they would fall was so satisfying.

If only this could be re-released and brought up to date with current gen hardware. I absolutely loved this game. You could drive or fly any vehicle across, what was for its time, a pretty impressive open world map. Stop rehashing shitty titles simply because of franchise dominance in 2020.

I remember playing this game as a child, at the time I didn't know English and was pretty much running around and killing the bad guys, then one day I learned how to arrest them instead of killing - I thought I was a genius since nobody as well in my neighborhood didn't know English it was a 'breakthrough'. How naive of me, great game tho, 8/10

Eu tmb amigo, mais o estudio desse game (Que é no caso a Pandemic) Faliu dps deles ter lançado o mercenaries 2. Isso que eles ja estavam desenvolvendo o 3!!!!! Mais a EA tava numa fase ruim e acabou fechando muito estudios e a Pandemic foi uma delas.
