This is what I did for my girlfriend. Got her on a 144HZ LG 1080 24" monitor, HyperX keyboard, Logitech G703 mouse and Corsair headset. Put my Helios 300 with 9750H and 1660TI on a stand and she's been playing Hogwarts and Grounded like crazy.
would still prioritize the monitor. Better performance, more fps, less demand on your laptop to run games (core to maintain a laptop actually, cause heat). Yeah. those are good but a monitor is a must at the long run, casuals could not be into games that much but I bet they do want to keep their laptop in shape.
@@Spasanchezzz02 it actually gives a big boost of fps, I'm pretty sure it depends if its a gaming laptop and certain things about it but it does give a big fps boost with something about the gpu or cpu to do with the monitor
They could have worded the title differently in order to avoid any confusion. By having the peripherals in parentheses it's assumed that the price in the video title only covers the cost of those and doesn't include the cost of the laptop. Besides, Matt mentioned the price of the laptop in the beginning of the video. You're not going to get a laptop with those specs and all of the peripherals for $400. It's a $1,400 gaming setup which Jackson mentioned at the end of the video.
He is using the monitor as a secondary display .... So there is no need for the primary display ..... If you are just mirroring the display from the laptop to the monitor , then the gpu will be fully used for the game .... Not for different tasks ....hence , it will give more fps ... hope this helps 😎
think you guys should re word the title , people are mistaking it for being a setup including the laptop when clearly it isnt , and it seems the 400$ was the budget for basically the periphials
We need an analysis of where the new Asus ROG Ally fits into the Gaming Laptop market right now. 16GB DDR5-6400, 1080p 120hz and an 8.6 Tflop GPU (sits between the 3050 and 3050Ti) looks like it could be a good deal at $700, but is it really?
Just a heads up most hdmi can only support upto 120 refresh rate, so check if your laptop has a mini dp socket, and look for mini dp to dp(display port) cables that can support your external monitors refresh rate, and also turning of the laptop and closing the lid usually gives like a 5 t0 10 percent ish boost to the fps, depends on the model
Can you please do maybe a YT short about how to use your laptop as a second display like it is here because I can only figure out how to screen mirror mine😂
I'm a trackball person. Have been since 2001 when I destroyed the ligaments in my wrist from crafting and playing so much in Ultima Online from all the mouse clicking and moving everything with mouse. I hate mouse movement and control games now. It's very painful

Since this is talking about gaming laptops. I got a gaming laptop that I also use as a work machine, which I got as a second hand from my brother. It's a Lenovo Legion Laptop from 2020 or 2021, with a 10th gen i7 and a GTX 1650ti. It might be considered old or "outdated" to some. But as a competent or lower end gaming laptop that isn't an RTX 30 Series, is my Lenovo Legion from 2020 still a good gaming machine I can use and game on for many years to come?
I have a lenovo legion with gtx 1050 4gb vram thats just a little older than yours and its already pretty much useless for any newer titles I can barely run hogwarts legacy and cyberpunk while the last of us is just unplayable. with newer games coming out yours should become useless fairly soon. At the same time I still enjoy gaming on it playing games like rainbow six siege and other more niche games with my friends like pummel party
if you get the msi docking gen 2 you can cable manage all of it pretty well with some effort.also it has 3 display ports supporting upto 4k.just plug it in usb c and if u wanna take the laptop to work or school just unlup it with only one port.

Guys please help! I got a laptop with a 1070, sure it’s older from 2017 but games that are supposed to work with my system requirements are continuously crashing. What do I do!?!?
