Of all the sad scenes in the previous Magnificent Century and this one, the deathbed dialogue between Murad and Kosem made me cry the most. So, so good.
These last four episodes won't be the same without Sultan Murad. Metin Akdülger was outstanding!! The thunderstorm happening when Ibrahim is presented the imperial sword from Kemankeş, is a premonition of what's to come of the dynasty.
@@saiprasannamanchiraju7743 Kemankes' love for Kosem was so pure. He was totally dedicated to her. Although Kosem didn't feel it to the same extent, I believe she did care about him too. And the two actors have done a brilliant job at portraying their emotions only through their eyes and expressions. Someone should really cast these two in a movie or series together 😍
WOW.. When Kosem Sultana sends her regards.. Sad though, what happened to Ibrahim. He turned out worst than Uncle Mustafa. They had a sad life living in constant fear. At least Uncle Mustafa died in his ship and was able to see the outside world again. He thought he would be free. He was freed at the end. Freed from his suffering and constant fear.
Metin Akdulger....wow ! wow! What a superb performance. He deserves the best actor award. What a portrayal of a a troubled, cruel, and a loving family man. Wonderful acting. Casting director 👏

Even if it meant betraying her own children. A very sad destiny for the entire family and those sworn in to uphold.
Don't think she fulfilled the mission Ahmed gave her because It was protecting his children and the state. Both. Not sacrificing children for the state.
You didn't take her actions right. All she was doing was for saving her chindren. To protect them from the dark destiny of a shehzade, who didn't succeed the throne. May be it looks like she was inloved with the power, but that wasn't true. From the first ferman she wrote, she was trying with all her might AND power, of course, to protect them. If you pay attention more carefully, you will see that all the bad things that happend to her kids was caused by her enemies - Gulbahar, Sinan Pasha, Halime Sultan, Dilruba Sultan, Davud Pasha, Omer efendy, Usuf Pasha, Silehtar Pasha, and of course Safiye Sultan. Halime tryed to kill Kosem's kids a lot of times and succeeded to make Osman angry on his brother. Then made the nation angry on Osman with the help of Davud Pasha only to put Mustafa on the throne, who was saved a lot of times by Kosem from Ahmed. Omer Efendy made sure that Osman will be angry on Mehmed, but Kosem believed in Osman till her last. Even when she deseided to dethrone him, she wanted Osman to stay alive. And here comes Murad who was on purposly put against Kosem from all the people who was araund him. They put a so against a mother - Gulbahar, Sinan Pasha Silehtar, Usuf Pasha. Kosem didn't like them from the beggining and she was right. All she did was to protect the princes from the hammer of the old rules, really disappointing ,but she tryed.

But there's always consequences to our actions, as mothers, we set the right example for our children, but we're imperfect. As mothers, we set the judgement of good and do our best at nuruting and protecting, not harming our children (whether it's intentional or not!
But what her children did had she not killed them they wud have n offcourse one can c without kosem's interference they were nothing relying on stupid power hungry women atleast turhan was power hungry but atleast she was wise enough to handle everything...her children betrayed her not she...even Murad wud have been sacked by his enemies without Kosem...Kosem made only one mistake when she attempted to kill Mehmed now that was wrong she shud have passed her reign to turhan as she enjoyed enough to be a regent.

In real history when ibrahim heard the news of sultan Murad, he didn't believe it out of fear because it could be a trap. So, the body of sultan Murad was shown to him as evidence. When Ibrahim asured that Murad was dead he shouted and danced in joy.

Okay, so... we all know that Kosem is ambitious, we all know that she's become power-hungry because she's been turned into that. But EVERYTHING that she's ever done was for her children. But at the same time, I do draw the line with some of the things she's been doing. Hurrem would NEVER do half of what Kosem is doing, and her love/support for her children was just as (if not stronger than) Kosem's. But Kosem has been changed into this. ON THE OTHER HAND, Hurrem's children would NEVER speak to her the way Kosem's children are speaking to her. Not even Hurrem's SONS dared act this way.
You’re so right. All Kosem’s children were misbehaving. Kosem did a lot, she really was power-hungry but she protected her children from everyone and she had to behave like this so they could live and rule. They were ungrateful.

OMG the lying, conniving, scheming, back stabbing, intrigue, betrayal just never ever ends. This show gets First Place on the dramatic pause, And yet....I keep watching. I've enjoyed this immensely, but I think I'm ready for it to end now. I'll bet PTSD was rampant back then. Kosem became just as evil and manipulative and under-handed as her old nemeses Sophia
I think after watching these series you can't walk quietly around in Topkapi museum, if at all you can walk in. I am doubting myself, my Istanbul visit will be at Sultanahmet and Suleyman Mosque and that's all.
What surprises me the most is the historical accuracy of these episodes describing facts which actually took place. The such called Magnificent Century in the history of the Ottoman Empire relates to a period when some very beautiful, intelligent and skillful women of the harem actually managed to become the influence and power behind the throne , with the most famous one being Koesem Sultana. It is a famous Chinese proverb which says; "A beautiful woman can build a castle or destroy an empire" and these historical events are proving just that. May I take this opportunity to express my admiration and congratulations to the producers, actors and all participants who created these fantastic episodes which have kept me mesmerized for several months by now.

Although I would have liked there to be a moment when the spirits of the those who really loved him Farya, Sihlatar, Sultan Ahmed & his children greeted Murad as he passed - like when the spirit of Lady Marian welcomed Robin Hood when he passed in the Adventures of Robin Hood (2006-2009). Or perhaps a fleeting vision of Farya waiting for Murad smiling gently in a far part of the chamber - just before her dies, like when William Wallace sees the vision of Maren in the crowd just before he passes in Braveheart.
God she was so hot...As for her acting I didn't like it,Beren Saat portrayed the best version of Kosem,actually made her interesting to watch,Anastasia and Nurgul were boring to me,though Anastasia was kinda funny and cute with how innocent and brave she was i found no reason to pay attention to Nurgul other than her looks,plus she made Kosem REALLY unlikeable,I know she is a great actress but this version of Kosem just doesn't work,the series basically became Magnificent Century: Murad IV after Beren left,which is good cause Murad IV is the best in the whole series

Kemankes' unflattering but honest "It's not easy to give up on you" to Kosem is quite simply thousands of Romeos' love and passion for their Juliets put together in one man.😃 Also, I don't miss Murad at all like most seem to do. The actor was great, undoubtedly but his presence constantly made the atmosphere dark and eerie. His look made me feel suffocated out of frustration and boiling rage from within (well, yes such was the magnitude of his acting caliber). With him gone, I felt at "ease" and a little relaxed. Even the mentally unstable adult Ibrahim was a welcome addition to the screen. 😅

Safiye didn’t have multiple sons to put against eachother otherwise we may have seen her dispose of one son for another. But kosem and Anastasia were complete opposites, she lost her innocence and morals with each sultan change. Safiyya and kosems had the power Hurrem yearned and fought for

The only woman Ibrahim seems to remember liking and the only son he seems to acknowledge are from the time he was normal and still a Shezade. I think after that no matter how many women came in his life or how many children he had, it didn’t matter to him. He missed his past self and the old times, when he could actually feel like a normal person.
and to think the constant fear of death made him this way is really saddening 😭 if i were to follow the series, I'd say he was the second unluckiest..poor Ibrahim had so much faith in Murad..loved all of his siblings very dearly including Bayezid..and even though Murad tried to kill him several times, he still felt bad when he's beloved brother died..truly a great character
Murad the oppressor, still we like him.. Osman, Mehmed, Gevharhan, Silhatar, Gulbahar, Beyzide the gentle , Kasim, Mustafa , Sinan pasha, Nephi celebi and finally Murad, all are gone.. All the characters we loved so much 😥😐
All those sitting on the throne eventually sidelines Kosem. All had this crazy eyes/looks. Even Sulayman had the same look. Guess it happens when a human is given so much power. It becomes much to handle.
Empires are crazy in its roots. Humans we were degraded to ignorant slaves to be ruled on. But God created us as conscious beings who do not need to be ruled. All we need is return to this origin. I can't wait that glorious moment.
I liked his story (Murad's) more than Osmond & Ibrahim's. His love and victory stories were full of passion and tenderness.. Even when Murad spent few times with Mufasa, and he ends up executing him, he listened to his uncle's fears and stories, plus fulfilled his lifetime dream of sailing into the sea... Wished Murad could have been happy with Faryiah and their children. Kosem was really cruel locking Ibrahim once again & last time in darkness, and sending to execute him, when she knew he was so afraid of both situations all his life, even shadows memories from babyhood!
I think after the end or Murad I kind of find it little boring .The character of playing murad was outstanding.Ibrahim is crazy like his uncle there must be something in family heritage. The story is repeated.
Being locked up will make you go crazy. Don't you notice even the present day prison never confine prisoners 24hr unless they break the rule. Even that it only allowed 3 days max. If not, it will be against human rights.
Ertugrul gazi their great great great grand father. Nothing was wrong with the blood line until they created an army made by convert christians. They made them pashas. The whole palace was full of man and women coming from Balkan countries. The blood line got fucked up when they started marrying the slaves. So this pasha's played lot of roles getting this sehzade's killed.

It's often when you lose something then you realise the value of it, Sultan Murad was the best had he lived long enough the empire would have continued getting bigger and stronger.
I see Kosem series for first time, a wonderful series which made me so attached to it and.. the actor who played Sultan Murad was a great actor.. really admired him.. he's the heart of this series with Kosem.. admired many characters in this serial, Safiya Sultan and Darwish in season 1, also Mehmet Grey.. but wondering why they keep changing actors? They changed the actress who played Kosem 3 times.. that's not nice.. then changed the actor who played Ibrahim.. Ibrahim was young.. and after becaming a sultan, lets say after 10 years. the director should've used the same actor with little make up he would look a bit older, sadly they brought this actor in the video who looks at his 50's!!!! he's old to pay the role of Sultan Ebrahim!!!
Kosem really did end up a lot like Safiya Sultana….she lost her innocence along the way because she wanted to always be in control. The last scene where Murad said his mother never listened to him made me sad because I don’t know that he would have been that cruel or angry if he felt like he had control over his life and choices for the state. Kösem is so ungrateful towards all the others who helped her: Melike sacrificed her mother for her, but was dismissed on a whim, Haci Aga has been by her side almost since the beginning but gets to hear that only Kemankes matters, and she didn't care that Halil pasha was slaughtered for doing her bidding.
Yes sad. Compare that with Farya's love for Madame Margrette when she pleads to have her released from the dungeon or Sultan Safiye's love & respect for Bubul Agha. Both of those were beautiful master/servant relationships. Anastasia had something similar with Golge but I don't think Kosem is capable of it
Meleke in real life is the traitor that snitched on kosem and got her executed but she met her end in 1656 when the janissaries torn her to shreds + her husband + all of turhan loyal servants
Actually kosem does not have any ambition she just one Sultan must rule the dynasty rightfully and mercifully none of her children understand this two words and this result causes war between mother and children finally results to death. Atleast Yusuf Pasha remained loyal n faithfull to his friend Murad. The battle fight n royal treatment between Sultan Murad n Yusuf Pasha is just in case of Alexander the Great and brave Porus. 👍
I dunno, as a pasha he is meant to advice the sultan, even when he thinks that the sultan is doing wrong. So obviously he should’ve advised against ending the bloodline. Yusuf seemed to want it, the ultimate Shia revenge
Yes though Murad committed some bad deeds you still like him and even feel sorry for him. He did not get much happiness in his life. And when he did find someone who loved him his mother got her killed.
It's quite fascinating what the hunger for power can do. Sultan Ahmed possibly influenced by Kosem Sultan abolished the slaughter of his brother, but did no good in locking him up as he became mentally ill. Turns out that even when the brothers are left alive there is still fear, anger and betrayal between them, which once again turns into brother murdering his brothers just during prolonged periods of time and not immediately. Sad to see how those people living in the saray seemed invincible and godly to the ordinary people but in reality they spent their lives in misery.. Love the series though, and I'll be sure to re-watch it again!

Mustafa lived longer than most of those sultans. They were either sick or killed. In some ways, M was lucky

I think after watching these series you can't walk quietly around in Topkapi museum, if at all you can walk in. I am doubting myself, my Istanbul visit will be at Sultanahmet and Suleyman Mosque and that's all.
What surprises me the most is the historical accuracy of these episodes describing facts which actually took place. The such called Magnificent Century in the history of the Ottoman Empire relates to a period when some very beautiful, intelligent and skillful women of the harem actually managed to become the influence and power behind the throne , with the most famous one being Koesem Sultana.
It is a famous Chinese proverb which says; "A beautiful woman can build a castle or destroy an empire" and these historical events are proving just that. May I take this opportunity to express my admiration and congratulations to the producers, actors and all participants who created these fantastic episodes which have kept me mesmerized for several months by now.

Or perhaps a fleeting vision of Farya waiting for Murad smiling gently in a far part of the chamber - just before her dies, like when William Wallace sees the vision of Maren in the crowd just before he passes in Braveheart.

God she was so hot...As for her acting I didn't like it,Beren Saat portrayed the best version of Kosem,actually made her interesting to watch,Anastasia and Nurgul were boring to me,though Anastasia was kinda funny and cute with how innocent and brave she was i found no reason to pay attention to Nurgul other than her looks,plus she made Kosem REALLY unlikeable,I know she is a great actress but this version of Kosem just doesn't work,the series basically became Magnificent Century: Murad IV after Beren left,which is good cause Murad IV is the best in the whole series

The actor was great, undoubtedly but his presence constantly made the atmosphere dark and eerie. His look made me feel suffocated out of frustration and boiling rage from within (well, yes such was the magnitude of his acting caliber). With him gone, I felt at "ease" and a little relaxed. Even the mentally unstable adult Ibrahim was a welcome addition to the screen. 😅

Even when Murad spent few times with Mufasa, and he ends up executing him, he listened to his uncle's fears and stories, plus fulfilled his lifetime dream of sailing into the sea... Wished Murad could have been happy with Faryiah and their children.
Kosem was really cruel locking Ibrahim once again & last time in darkness, and sending to execute him, when she knew he was so afraid of both situations all his life, even shadows memories from babyhood!

I see Kosem series for first time, a wonderful series which made me so attached to it and.. the actor who played Sultan Murad was a great actor.. really admired him.. he's the heart of this series with Kosem.. admired many characters in this serial, Safiya Sultan and Darwish in season 1, also Mehmet Grey.. but wondering why they keep changing actors? They changed the actress who played Kosem 3 times.. that's not nice.. then changed the actor who played Ibrahim.. Ibrahim was young.. and after becaming a sultan, lets say after 10 years. the director should've used the same actor with little make up he would look a bit older, sadly they brought this actor in the video who looks at his 50's!!!! he's old to pay the role of Sultan Ebrahim!!!
Kosem really did end up a lot like Safiya Sultana….she lost her innocence along the way because she wanted to always be in control. It's quite fascinating what the hunger for power can do. Sultan Ahmed possibly influenced by Kosem Sultan abolished the slaughter of his brother, but did no good in locking him up as he became mentally ill. Turns out that even when the brothers are left alive there is still fear, anger and betrayal between them, which once again turns into brother murdering his brothers just during prolonged periods of time and not immediately. Sad to see how those people living in the saray seemed invincible and godly to the ordinary people but in reality they spent their lives in misery..
Love the series though, and I'll be sure to re-watch it again!
