How to Draw a Room in 1-Point Perspective

  • This tutorial covers drawing a simple room in one-point perspective.
Learn how to create depth using linear, or mathematical, perspective!
In this video, I am using a Prismacolor Ebony drafting pencil, but you can use any kind of pencil - plain old HB pencils work great! Try to stay within the HB-2B range for general sketching. Too hard of a graphite (the higher the H, the harder the graphite) is really light and can indent the paper easily if you press too hard. The higher the B, the softer the graphite, which will create darker marks!

I had to go through SEVERAL videos (not yours) to find someone who would actually talk me through it and show step by step (some I saw were actually like in speed fast motion - how does one learn from that???) I want to learn how to "sketch" out interior design ideas and also possibly do watercolor on top.

I'm confused. I was asked by my portfolio requirements to draw a one point perspective of a room in my home. I'm drawing my bathroom cause that's the simplistic room, everything is a clutter freak mess. My bathroom is narrow. Do you it's like a portrait in specific requests. I like to draw my perspective in my bathtub since it's placement is, deep? in the bathroom. The entrance door coming you have a towel shelfing, then sink atteched to the wall of the shelf, the toilet then bath tub. 2.5 sim 4 build living squares narrow and 5 sims 4 build living squares.

I'm using a Prisma Ebony Drafting pencil, but that's only because it showed up better on the camera I was using. When I'm drawing in perspective, I usually like to use a mechanical pencil because it creates a sharper line. Literally it doesn't matter what pencil you use when you're just starting - you don't need anything fancy. It's more important to understand how to control the tools you have!
