Enjoyed it. Very helpful . Was only using first round control before but your explanations makes sense. Also the highlight on the bypassed suit and it could mean .
@21:23 if you cue-bid the same suit twice ( in this case spades) doesn't that mean you warrant a first round control (ace or void) in that suit, or is that a matter of preferences?
peter - once again need your advice. my partner opened 1c ( in bbo ) and I had 18 points with strong diamonds so I bid 2d which bbo said 17+ points and strong diamonds. bbo bid 3d showing support in diamonds so I bid 3S having ace S which I considered a cue bid to slam but bbo said that shows support in clubs ( in which I had a singleton) - wtf ! the point I am asking is. is bbo really trustworthy ?
peter - very helpful but I do not fully understand 2nd round control. singleton yes but surely only KQ guarantees 2nd round control - if you have K + 10 say your lho might have AQ over you and bang goes your slam.am I missing something ?
Peter - i am watching this video again.very helpful but would like to check 1 point. How many points do you say you need for 2 club opening. Most players i know think about 20 minimum but in no way game forcing just 1 round as your partner may have 4 or less or not have a nice long suit, please clarify.
I usually do 23+ Bal or 20+ Unbal. That doesn't mean you have to open all unbal 20 counts 2C but if your want to get to game no matter what they are the types of hands you open 2C.
You use the term game forcing bid, with an opening bid of 2 clubs, this is in my opinion a flaw, 2 clubs is forcing, but in NO WAY is it game forcing, responder could easily have a Yarborough 0 Points, also 2 clubs is used to open hands with 3 or less losers regardless of point count, and also hands that have 8 and a half quick tricks, so stating a 2 club opening bid is a game forcing bid is in my opinion greatly flawed.

very good lesson on cue bidding. You did miss adding the meaning of 1S/3S/4D/4H....
After a preempt bid say 3 hearts do some partnerships play four of a minor as cue bid as surely partner would raise spades with singleton or more
learn bridge in 5min
yes

Slam bidding with the robots is not very good at all.
Great emphasis on missing a control ( bypassed)

No you are right you might go down but the break point for bidding a decent slam is 50%. So half the time the ace will be onside and it is fine.
ok many thanks.
@@frankah the point actually is you don't have 2 quick losers as well if they are leading into you if you have something like kx

Peter - your reply noted. I think you would agree that if 2c is only 20 / 21 points then it would not be game forcing just 1 round right ?
Can you explain this to GIB
hahaha
😍😍👍
