There is something so special about entering a church and immediately feeling the peace that is the presence of the Holy Spirit. Even more so in places that have been home to centuries of prayer and worship. They truly are houses of God.

Yes, that's way I try to visit churches in peaceful, green locations.
Modern urban church buildings hold no interest or soul.

I love the appearance of the flat roof. Never seen one like that before.

that is the lords prayer I learned. thats the one I say. I dont care if the other modernize it. I do the old one. "you shall neither add to, nor remove from thy word"

Amidst rampant "Wokeism" and revisionism, I visit these old churches to tap into tradition and my soul.
      Thanks for watching.

The stone pieces are fragments of an Anglo-Saxon cross, probably 8th/10th century. The other looks like a Hogsback tombstone of the Viking age, again about 10th century. The Church looks too large for the present village, again maybe a Black Death shrinkage maybe the cause.
Another reason could be a switch to sheep pasture at some date replacing agriculture, again quite common. In the middle of the floor is a large Priests tombstone, with a gothic inscription. The roof is a bit strange, as it cannot be seen on the outside, it has probably been replaced with the low rise one that is on it now from a much earlier normal steeply pitched original. Notice the war memorial plaque is by the Mouseman, Thompson of Kilburn, North Yorkshire, very famous, who's work is very valuable these days.'

This church is also quite close to an Estate so may have served that in past years. There is also a Catholic church of the same name about a mile away.
I think I have another video (need to reupload) with the work of the Mouseman inside.
      Where are you from?
