Super Videos und Fahrzeuge
Vielen Dank 👍
Great Movie Greetings
Thanks!
Awesome video
Thank you!
These are great videos and such interesting fire apparatus. I would love to understand why everywhere in Germany has such massively large fire stations??
Thank you very much!
This is because German and European cities are structured very differently from most American cities. They are much more compact and urban, so that you can reach large parts of the city with a central fire station.
It is also due to the organizational structure of the fire department. The FDNY, for example, has dozens of companies, which are spread out over many small fire stations across the equally densely populated urban area. In Germany, fire departments are organized as a whole; the vehicles do not represent a separate company to the same extent as in America.
It is more cost-effective to bundle personnel and material at a central location than to maintain a large number of small fire stations.
Thank you so much for answering my question. That now makes total sense to me.
