I think this is Josh Allen's MVP. However if Lamar Jackson were to get 4,000 passing yards with 40 TD with less than 5 INT, with 1,000 rushing, then there could be a case for Co-MVP. I was baffled after when Barry Sanders got that 2,000 they gave a Co-MVP for Farve, but they did. So they can do the same here.
Fans get so hurt when an analyst backs lamar and tries to knock down a guy to build up allen. But allen led bills loss to ravens and lost last week, and same fans blamed the defense!

Here is my take on it. There were multiple candidates for the MVP last year who should have won based on stats alone, since theirs were more impressive than Lamars. We could look at CMC, Tyreek, and Josh for example. We all know that it's not just about the numbers. Allen is playing with less talent, was supposed to have a down year, and is the sole reason his team is playing as well as they are, even with a bad defense. Josh Allen does better on the eye test as well. Every play is a huge play. They have eight games with thirty or more points in a row, the last two being more than forty. As stated is the video, he is also setting many different records this season. They have the same total TDs as well. Lamar is not ahead in total yards by a lot. Lamar is easily ahead in completion percentage and passer rating, but only one less turn over. When we take into account what Josh is doing on the field, who he is doing it with, the records he is setting, the teams he is beating (which include the two best teams in each conference that every other QB is 1-25 against this season in the Chiefs and the Lions), the eye test, and every other intangible, Josh is doing it better. When compared to each other, their numbers are similar in total TDs, yards, and turnovers. Again, Lamar is easily ahead if we only take into account the numbers when it comes to completion percentage and passer rating, but it is a tapestry, which is the only reason why he won last year. He should not have won last year if it was only based on the numbers. Josh will likely end the season 14-3, while Lamar can at best finish 12-5.
@@quincee3376 yes he is clearcut MVP. Lamar Jacksons team leads the league in penalties (not by accident I might add) and plays in a tougher division. Lamar had worst pass defense in the NFL for first 7 weeks. So lamar has actually had the tougher road to climb and has put up Aaron Rodgers passing stats with Mike Vick Rushing stats! If he ends up with 40+ passing TDs and 3-4INts and rush for 850-900 yards, that is historical! All QBs who finished a season with a passer rating over 117 have won MVP! (Rodgers twice, Manning, Brady, Matt Ryan) Lamar Jackson would be the only one not to win it! And he added on 850-900 yards rushing! So he had one of the 6th best passing seasons in NFL history and ran for 850-900 yards and they just not giving it to him because they need to market Josh Allen! And they cannot waste this opportunity to market Allen as an MVP! Lamar Jackson would have more MVPs than Mahommes! They just can't let him be recognized as the best in the league! Its not even close!
Lamar Jackson is the MVP to me. The Bills have a better record....by 2 wins....but Lamar Jackson is clearly having the better season. Lamar has had some less than impressive games but no bad ones like Josh Allen has who had one of the worst games of all time. Statistically, Lamar is better than Josh Allen in eveery meaningful way. Josh has to have those historic moments just to catch up to Lamar in total TD's (which hes still behind in). Josh might win it but this will be like that year Derek Rose won MVP over LeBron James. I can tell you simply why Lamar (or LeBron) deserve(d) MVP. You have to go out of your way to explain why Josh (or Rose) should win.
I'm a Lamar guy but until he performs on a deep run in the playoffs, he's in purgatory. He's in the Embiid boat. We know you're a baller, show us in the big games.

6 QBs have had a passer rating of 117 or higher during the regular season. Aaron Rodgers twice, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Matt Ryan, and Lamar Jackson! All of the other guys who threw the ball this well and with this type of passing efficiency have won MVP! Lamar Jackson would be the only one on the list not to win MVP! And he will have 850-950 yards rushing to go with the passing! They are doing every thing they can to get Josh Allen MVP and to stop lamar Jackson including the number of flags called on the Ravens this season! Starting opening night against the chiefs!
When the Ravens beat the Bills. Allen was playing injured and were missing several key pieces to injury on defence. Allen has been way better than Lamar period this year.
The statistics are for Offensive Player of the Year. MVP is for Most Valuable Player, Josh Allen has done more for his team with a lesser supporting cast, and has his team ahead in the standings by a bit.
Lol it's simple...anyone saying Josh Allen is the MVP is more of an anti-Lamar vote than a pro Josh Allen vote. The numbers are heavily in Lamar favors, when he isn't just having a great season...he is on pace to have a historic season...something that Allen wasn't even close to last year especially with leading the league in turnover, being the reason the bills lost games AND the team doing better when they took the ball out of his hands. But none of that matters because the MVP award is about the CURRENT season and not what you did or didn't do in the past. The biggest negatives for Josh vs Lamar is one QB has one of the easiest schedules and the other Has the hardest schedule in football. One is playing in one of the easiest divisions and the other is playing in one of the hardest divisions. Josh's cupcake schedule is how he can be a 11-3 team and only have 2 wins against actual winning teams. And ALL his loses are against winning teams. Basically, his entire season has been stat padding against weak teams (including taking the credit at the end of drives where James cook did all the work but Allen rushes in from the 1-yard line), while playing his worst games and struggling against good teams. No matter how they try and spin it...nobody is forgetting that Allen had a game where he went 9-30. Its why he can clinch a division title with 5 weeks left because every team in his division is under .500. Most of them are even competing for top 3 picks in the draft. They have a combined 13 wins between all 3 teams. And the rest of his schedule....no surprise is all cupcake level. The last 3 games on his schedule are against teams with a combined 7 wins amongst them lol. Its still funny watching Bill's fans complain about last year when Lamar beat a record breaking 11 winning above .500 teams on his way to a 1 seed vs Josh Allen this year who will only have a win over 2 winning teams this season. What they are doing is not even close.
@77figures Most of which were arm punts and trying to feed Diggs to keep him happy. Seriously you people need to watch him and not judge based on stats. Makes you look like a fool
What Rob fails to realize is that his fellow writers have been trying to find a way to put Josh Allen with Patrick and Lamar. This MVP race ended in Detroit. Personally, it would be Saquan Barkley for what the Eagles have become with him. Sadly, no other players other than QB will win that award.
The only reason they give it to Allen is a cope for last year, LJ has continued to set a standard this season, that is what matters. Last season is over and done.
It comes down to better record in the end. Last year Dak had better numbers than Lamar but not the better record. Thats why Lamar won it last year with his mediocre stats because of the record. This year Lamar could have better numbers but Josh has the better record
Umm...Jared Goff has a 71.4% completion rate, 3759 yards, 30 touchdowns and 10 picks with a qb rating of 110.4. Lamar is hardly running away with anything
Considering Lamar has 34 PASSING TDs, 68% completion, 3900 passing yards, only 3 ints and 4th highest rating ever. I would say he is, Passing stats alone. It’s between Allen and lamar
@dan-ly1je You take out one bad game against Houston, which the Lions still won, and his numbers are better than both. Besides, the Ravens have 5 losses and might lose one more before it's over. Allen will probably win it, but they're not world-beaters
Lamar is the beneficiary of having Derrick Henry in the backfield. Teams have to plan for Henry. The numbers are close. Lamar has 4 fumbles lost to Josh Allen's 1. James Cook has the same amount of touchdowns as Derrick Henry. Miss me with the numbers argument when last year Lamar wasn't top 10 in any passing statistic except for completion percentage

Josh Allen’s division is way weaker than Lamar’s division. The Ravens strength of schedule is harder. The Ravens defense was last in the nfl. The Ravens special teams have the most missed field goals and extra points. Lamar and the offense had to overcome that for weeks.
How about last year when Josh Allen had double the touchdowns Lamar Jackson had please stop it’s not about numbers it’s who you play with and what you mean to your team and I’m not saying Lamar Jackson isn’t great. He’s great, but he has a lot of good players around in a great defense

I have no idea what Kelvin was talking about comparing Lamar with Tracy. I never in my life heard ANYONE say McGrady woulda won MVP if it "looked to easy". Secondly, to say it looks to easy to Lamar is what people day about Josh as well. Lamar is incredible, but Josh definitely has more moments this year hands down and should have the better record and a #1 or #2 seed in the playoffs with just 3 losses. They will be very close statistically at the end.

@@africanguy4671If it's so easy why not have Lamar do it?
it's part of the game ... grow up and deal with it ...
Lamar fans are more worried about MVP than playoffs which blows my mind
he should get both! Lamar is clearcut MVP this year!
Same for bills fan. Have heard anything about a 1 seed. Just begging for an Allen mvp
@@truthbetold9257 LOL. Clear cut? The voting should be close but clear cut? Sure.

Funny rob is the first person to criticize guys for not winning anything and being crowned yet whole different tune for lamar 😂
So are you using stats or narrative to determine MVP?
I'm a Lamar guy but until he performs on a deep run in the playoffs, he's in purgatory. He's in the Embiid boat. We know you're a baller, show us in the big games.

The statistics are for Offensive Player of the Year. MVP is for Most Valuable Player, Josh Allen has done more for his team with a lesser supporting cast, and has his team ahead in the standings by a bit.
I guess the Bills secondary has been 33rd worst this year ?
@@AJCsr I guess having the 2nd Best RB in the league this year is having an anchor for Lamar to overcome...

Is that mediocre and in the Steelers had a mediocre game against the Eagles? Steelers aren’t a real threat at all.

The numbers say Lamar is the mvp plus he beat allen head to head. And Lamar has 6 5/0 games and over 6 hundred yards rushing .Allen has how many.
