Just glad to see you back Dex. You inspire alot of young people to play drums because of how much passion you have and how good you are. I remember you giving me a tour of your drum set when you were 9. I was amazed at how good you were then!!

Dexter’s back! For those of you who are still there patiently awaiting for his next drum cover(s), THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart! As a typical teenager, Dexter went through some soul searching. His priorities have changed and with demands of school and other activities, he is unable to make music. But I’ve had numerous conversations with him along with the help of his music teachers, Dexter realized that music will be and still is a very HUGE part of his life. As long as I can, I’ll make sure that Dexter will play drum covers. Please send positive comments to Dexter to never give up and keep working hard and inspiring others to make music.
Hey Dex- Hope this message finds you well. Just like you I went through some soul searching also so I completely understand your need to take a break. Mental health is important and with the demands of school and other activities, what's more important is your well being. You just need to find the passion in your heart to continue doing what you love to do, whether its playing the drums or something else. Life sometimes gets overwhelming with so many different things going on... but don't look at playing the drums as a "Chore" or "Obligation." I know you love playing the drums, and you're insanely talented on the drums from what I've seen. So maybe when life gets too busy for you, look at playing the drums as a stress reliever, a mental break where you forget about your busy life, the stress and everything going on, so you can mentally recharge. And please don't worry about us... you are already an inspiration to us all by seeing your motivation, talent and determination to be one of the greatest on the drums that I've seen. You've already inspired many people and whether you post a cover every day, week, month or year... we will all still be here supporting you no matter what. So keep your head up, find peace in your mind and heart, and continue to do what makes you happy. You're an amazing and talented person.... dont let anyone ever tell you otherwise! Salamat for all you do for us, and God Bless Dex.
that is totally understandable and i can relate to that! being in high school and playing sports can really interfere with our free time. it’s also important he lives his teenage life… glad he’s still inspired to make drum covers when he has time :)

Hi Dexter, i have been watching you since the stressed out cover you made and since then I have been playing drums. I dont know how to read music or anything, I will put your videos on repeat and learn from you and I’ve been doing that for years. If you ask any of my friends or family they’d know you have inspired me to try things like biking and basketball and football and especially drumming and I thank you for all of that. You are the best Dexter 💙

My youngest, also a drummer, suggested your absence was probably as much predicated by a flourishing love life as it was by increasing pressures of school work.
