Wow as a woman who has experienced abuse from men. I know God sent you. To offer forgiveness on men's behalf is profound. Although I forgive the abusers the scars remain. pray for me that God will give me beauty for ashes. Confirmation - I typed this before the end of your video. How amazing that you ended with "beauty for ashes". I receive it!

Neil I don't know if you will ever see this, but when you said you were sorry for the evil things men have done, my heart broke wide open, your compassion and tenderness towards people abused is heart melting and is so real, thank you so much for putting this up. I have just done the freedom in Christ course here in the UK, and this message is the cream on top.
I used your materials long ago in another life with teens, but never thought I might need to deal with stuff stuffed deep in my heart. I have forgiven, except the church leaders, I have experienced so much as both a pastors wife, and in ministry, that I have not been able to trust male leaders, not except female leaders based on the hurts hiding in plain sight. I am doing a leaders training here in the UK with FIC UK, and have to face these issues, so thank you for this teaching in such a humble and caring way. Thank you for teaching freedom in Christ and for being you.

Thank God for brother Neil. I truly believe God led me here. With all the bajillion videos out there in UA-cam, to hear authentic Biblical teachings...Praise God. If you feel led, I am fervently asking God to help me live a truly authentic new life in Christ. I have lived for most of my life in pain from trauma but I don’t want to be imprisoned anymore. God has been recently helping me press the “clear” button. Please pray for my spiritual life. I want to fully experience authentic Freedom in Christ. Thank you and God bless you all.

Awesome teaching. Thanks so much Neil, for unpacking God's wonderful resources in such a straight-forward, encouraging way. As a 'confident-in-my-salvation' believer for 30 years, it's taken until until now to truly experience the freedom and peace your teaching to beautifully delivers, and all within the first few minutes of listening. I can't wait to learn and apply more of your wise counsel. God bless you Brother.

My daughter was the first person I recognized as demonized. Shortly afterwards I found out I was demonized. I got free my daughter hasn't. I told her she had demons and she will not forgive me for it. I have tried to resolve the relationship for years. She needs to be born again and be set free. I have walked away from her until she wants reconciliation. I forgive her and love her.

This is right on time. I have been in the process of forgiving my narcissist ex boyfriend and it is truly really difficult but I am trying and I realise it is for me and not for him. It will take time and daily forgiving but I know I need to do it so I can be free and happy! I try not think about all that he did to me because it hurts and it has been 2 years already and it still gets me upset. I am healing every day but it is a difficult journey on some days. Thank God I am out and free. Thank you for talking about the abuse against women and how devastating it can be and we cannot be subservient to an abuser.

It is amazing that numbers used in Mathew 18:22 are 70*7. Seven usually represents number of completeness,or perfection. In other words we keep on forgiving each other untill we are all perfected in Christ :) God bless everyone

So Christ came to heal the broken hearted. If we are to be like Christ in healing for both the abused and abuser, I think Neil is right to suggest a separation. Whether the abuse is emotional, physical, psychological, substance/drug, etc... there are programs & therapies for both parties that work to heal. Reconciliation can be had with understanding that comes from the deep investigations therapies accomplish in getting to the root of what largely is a mental health issue (i.e. PTSD, etc...) that stems often from a cycle of abuse. Breaking the cycle requires a humble & repentant heart from what may have been an abused child that later became an abuser because they were a product of the environment that taught them these negative behaviors to be within normal bounds/tolerances. We know only what we know. When abusers or dysfunctional children/people begin to learn better behaviors, especially after suffering the pain or negative consequences to their negative behaviors, change/healing can begin. Divorce can be avoided. The Matthew 18 model is in the Scriptures to be used and not thrown out, skipped over, or ignored. Also, dragging a brother/sister through court is not the biblical approach unless unfaithfulness or unequally yoked issues can not be worked out in the Matthew 18 model.

I thank Jesus Christ for you, and your heart to obey our Master. What a blessing you are to the Body of Christ. Let me tell you Jesus has started me through the healing process of deep wounds. I would freely forgive but grieve His Spirit when He wanted me to grieve and mourn the sins committed against me. I just wanted cheap forgiveness! I will tell you why there was a root of rejection in my heart and and emotional shame I carried since childhood. You see it was a lack of understanding and bad teaching. It wasnt purposeful, but I truly did not understand forgiveness and how choosing to let go is the beginning! I never dealt with the pain rather shut off my emotions. So, my emotional wounds turned to spiritual sin. You are blessing! And this only confirms the journey the Lord has begun in my life. I have forgiven and began to heal by obeying the Lords promoting through seasons of mourning. I hated feeling helpless and all that pain. But I have humbled myself and I am now walking free! Thank you

Wonderful Holy Spirit guidance from the word of God. Thank you for sharing this message with us. The way it’s delivered sheds new light and allows me to pray about forgiveness from new and different perspectives. Reconcile WITH me. In more ways than one. Can you please tell me who wrote the “ashes” story?

How can you tell if you have forgiven someone on your list? My mother's ex boyfriend was verbally abusive. Always starting fights with me when i was 15 - 18 yrs old. I say I have forgiven him because I can see that he was an alcoholic and probably had demon attachments. He was not in his right mind. I have no idea what he went through, and so that helps me to not judge him and to forgive. But, yet I still have a belief from that experience that I can't trust authority figures. And that they are evil and attack you. I still have a pattern of getting attacked and feeling vulnerable. And when I put myself in my mind back at that age and in that situation I can still feel how I felt toward him. So I just don't know if I have forgiven him or not. I don't know how to move through the list of people to forgive if I can't tell for sure if I actually forgave them or not.

I’ve listened to all of these in the series so far so don’t recall if my question relates to this particular video or the previous one but I heard you say that if we have offended someone else we should go to them and make it right but if they have offended us we should take it to God. My question is how would I know if I’ve offended someone else unless it’s blatant (unless they come and tell me) in which case if there are Christian and I’ve offended them they’re not supposed to tell me they’re supposed to take it to God. And second, I have checked in with friends and family on this particular thing to see if I have offended them because it seemed like I had based on their reactions but they’ve denied it. I then feel gaslit. How much does me coming from a codependent family and probably still having codependent friends play into their denial or how do I know if I mis-reading a situation? It’s very frustrating.

I also struggle with this. Elizabeth George (Loving God With All Your Mind) helped me with this: rely on two facts: 1) others are responsible before God to confront you for whatever they can’t overlook; if they say there’s no problem, choose by faith to believe them.
      2) Rely on mature Christian mentors to help you identify poor interpersonal habits. Not 21:42 by gossiping about family, but maybe asking questions like, “How could I improve my manners?” Or “If I could change 1 annoying habit, which one should I start addressing first?”
Dr. Anderson’s books and videos have also been life-changing. Don’t quit! You can win the battle for your mind and find your freedom in Christ. ❤
