Was Atlantis a real place or merely a literary device - a warning against national pride and hubris?

And what could possibly obliterate this famed nation - as Plato asserted - within a night and a day?

Well we have had a technological age we cant remember. The Roman's destroyed many cultures and more importantly libraries. But, what did the church keep secret? Well absolutely lots it seems no inclusion of the book of Enoch for starters as it didnt fit into the narrative of christianity. They spread christianity and destroyed other religions/beliefs. Many cultures are to blame for what we dont know. Atlantis was a real place. The pantheon of gods in ancient cultures are nothing more than aliens who really did visit us in the ancient past. 👽👽👍now known as not actually being works of fiction.

Atlantis is on the Souss Massa plains in Morocco. In ancient times it was called the island of Atlas because it was surround by the Atlas mountains. But I thinking the entire city was giant battery. The temple of Poseidon was cover in "Orichalcum" or Atlanteans bronze

Plato was not an author who wrote fiction, but he would have conveyed his knowledge in parables, having being taught by Socrates. Love this.
Atlantis was located where the " Eye of the Sahara " or Richat Structure located. It fits all the details that Plato describes. It was an island off the west coast of Africa. Plato said it had elephants and giraffes. The color of the stones in that region matches his description. Plato said that in the center of the island that poisidon provided a source of fresh water. The fresh water source is there. Plato said you could not get to Atlantis anymore because it was impassable. So it didn't not sink. It was swept away by water from the inland sea of the Sahara. The Sahara sea literally pushed everything buildings and all into the Atlantic Ocean when it drained into the ocean. The sand from the Sahara sea filled in the water between the island and the African coast creating a new coastline. This created a scenario where the area was probably was covered in a few feet of muddy waters for maybe centuries. It was a impassable muddy mess. You couldn't sail a ship in that mess. You can't swim in mud. Plus, there is an old Greek map that shows the location of Atlantis. The map shows the eye of the Sahara is the spot. The map was draw up by the greek father of history, Herodotus. Herodotus map shows Atlantis as an island beyond the pillars of hercules off the west coast of Africa. However, Africa's coastline was different than today because there was water between the island of Atlantis and africa. The water and mud eventually dried up and the coastline became what it is today.
The Richat Structure,is a prominent circular feature in the Sahara's Adrar Plateau, near Ouadane, west-central Mauritania, Northwest Africa.
Sahara was home to some of largest sea creatures, study finds. The sea was 50 metres deep and once covered 3,000sq km of what is now the world's biggest sand desert.
That's why you find evidence inland from the coast for miles that area was underwater.
12,000 years ago the Sahara was not a desert. The Sahara was not even a a desert 8,000 years ago. Atlantis disappeared around 12,000 years ago around 10,000 BC.
Topography of the area matches all descriptions. The mountains, plateu, etc, all match. Plus, Plato gave the exact dimension of the rings of Atlantis. The Richat Structure dimensions match up perfectly.
Plus, certain minerals that Atlantis was known for are found there also.
When look at a view of the Richat Structure from space you can actually still see the impression of the tons of forceful water had on the land. The region looks blasted, rubbed, and scarred by water. It shows the direction the water flowed when it came thru and over.
Im surprised you don't have more likes and replies on your comment because I for one agree with you completely. I have studied the Atlantis narrative and surrounding conversations since the year 1988 and even back before we had satellite imagery , my professor was giving an interview on the subject and his theories. Well he had been on a trip to Greece and then to Germany. The things that done it for me and set my mind in stone that Atlantis was actually off the west of Africa is the fact that his studies led him to an old library in Germany that actually contained an ancient Greek book that exclusively and specifically pointed out something that led my professor to Africa to take core samples in the exact location of the rings seen on satellite today. The fact that his core samples told us beyond any reasonable doubt that the whole area used to first be covered in huge freshwater rings before it was destroyed and swept away by salt water. It's incredible because we knew this in 1989. I agree with you completely my friend.

I’m not sure if you believe about spiritual stuffs like third eye opening by meditation practise. I once accessed the history through my mind eye. The Atlantis is real. I even saw how water flooded and destroyed the town. The town look so beautiful and then later I saw the white huge pyramid every side of it full of stair, on the pyramid there were a huge body golden colour they don’t look like human, many of them was walking up the stair, there are many tree and flowers decorated around. Then later I saw how human (they are all white color no face or detail in their body) build the Coloseum and then saw a painting that show the greece history, the background is the sky and it was full of naked men and women connected and look at each other (for me it looks like heaven)
For me my intuition and thrid eye is very strong. I even sometime dream about my friend visiting me before she passed away.
I wish I could access this history again.

I've grown weary of trusting everything the media and television tells me. Want a real mind twister then take a second to think about dinosaurs 🦕 . Plus, Plato said that the area where Atlantis existed had elephants and giraffes. Those animals iconically represent African the continent. Plus, there are drawings in the area of elephants and giraffes. So, that removes alot of regions of the world out of consideration as the location for Atlantis.
This went way deeper than I thought it would. I never knew the theories of extraterrestrials, hybrids, extinction events and the conscious universe all came from Plato!
And whatever plato wrote 90% was Socrates speach.
They said that Troy was a work of fiction too, but it was eventually found. So one day, Atlantis will be found!

@@kellybolton2410 What? No one knows how big it was, but taking into account it was an island nation, and when it was destroyed, it's people spread over all the planet, it is logical to assume that it was large for an island.
I guess they're taking into account continental drift. Due to earthquakes (or ocean quakes) and tectonic shifts, not much is where it was originally.

As a person who loves history, I want to say that Edgar Cayce readings gives a lot of answers. There was old civilisations long before us, according to Bible, vedas, hopi, mayan codex, we are the fifth civilization. And I strongly belive in this.
As do I. Edgar said that Atlantis would be found at the turn of the millennium.

North pole 10k tears ago used to be around Greenland, and 100k years ago - near Alaska. I wouldn't discard Eye of Sahara only based on the cardinal directions we have today.
AtlanTES or AztaAtlTlan was the empire that spanned many islands and coasts of the Atlantic ocean, which in Mayan means "Land of water birds", and which Tolkien teased with the city Alqualondë which means Alkelund or "seagull cove" in modern norse dialects.
But AtlanTIS was the "Little island" under Atlantean control that independently went to war with the mediterranean because of it's proximity and survival of the initial deluge of AtlanTES.
This "little island" was most likely the Doggerbank which survived the icecap destruction simply because it was the furthermost *proper* outpost AWAY from the american icecaps when it got destroyed in a single day and night.
But AtlanTIS also got devoured by water under the Storegga slide 8200 years ago, which is why this part of europe is full of concentric rings in art, architecture, solar observatories and ancient stone carvings.
The Sun Chariot displayed in Denmark is likely a mix between Indo-European and Doggerlandish tradition, depicting both the Sun being dragged across the skies by a chariot *and* the concentric layout of the city of AtlanTIS.

Amazing video. I was specifically impressed by Plato's teachings about the holographic universe and interdimensional beings. His thoughts are now paraphrased as the simulation theory and we are very proud to have grown up enough to understand that principle. And he was telling about this so many centuries ago! And even more impressive is the fact that Paul wrote a book about one of my favorite saints of the Russian Orthodox Church

Those teachings of Plato’s are in the holy books of India, like “The Vedas”. I have never heard from anyone else what these specific teachings of Plato were, however. Incredible documentary.
No they aren't. Vedas are older than Plato.

There is evidence of Greeks coming to the what is know today as India but not the other way round, Hindu philosophies, after all might just be the continuation of Great Philosophers such as Plato, by the way, I am also Hindu and one of the good thing about Hinduism is being open minded about everything including the holy books.
Similarities between Indian and Greek stories suggest that these civilizations were actually one big civilization. There was nothing like one predating other.. it was a big, contemporary, same civilization...

I really enjoyed watching this documentary, and the research that went into making this! I love learning about philosophy, ancient history, myths, legends, spirituality, and the unknown aspects of life. In many ways, Plato's writings of Atlantis and his other concepts (regardless of how one interprets it) is an encapsulation of all that, which is something that i really appreciate from watching this video. It does inspire or encourage me to think differently, wonder, and contemplate on the philosophies, concepts, and ideas that have served as the foundation of western philosophy (regardless if one agrees with it or not).
So much knowledge was lost when the library in Alexandria was destroyed. Perhaps there were other manuscripts there that talked about Atlantis. Maybe only Plato's description survived. Interesting video. Thanks!

Plato most likely got that knowledge from Egypt. That was where all the informed sages of the time would have studied.
@fullswing Yet the Library of Alexandria, unarguably the ancient world's most revered library, wasn't even constructed yet. Long decline or not, the combined knowledge contained therein was amassed during the Ptolemaic period of Egypt's history _after_ Plato's death and not in earlier eras. Despite being under foreign rule, advancements in many fields flowered in Ptolemaic Egypt. We may not have an index to its vast catalogue to know exactly what knowledge it contained or was lost, you're diminishing its importance.
@fullswing what I meant is, just as the Romans learned a lot intellectually from the Greeks. The Greeks learned from the Egyptians. Perhaps the Egyptians learned from Atlantis if it existed, and so on and so forth.

The best Atlantis documentary I have seen.
As a Ham Radio Operator, I communicated with another ham radio station in Mauritania, a country in Northwest Africa. Situated in Mauritania is a Richat structure called "The Eye Of The Sahara. This structure consists of concentric rings much like The Capital city of the Atlantean Empire as described by Plato. Another striking thing in this area are what looks to be marks in the earth made by running water, so that the area appears to have been flooded in the distant past. Interesting to say the least. Well well all I had to do was watch a bit more of this video and it would have mentioned what I already knew.
Ive heard that sahara switches from sand to lush Green jungle every 10000 year i Wonder what might have gotten lost in the process of this.
It’s not beyond the pillars of Hercules, it’s not in the Atlantic and it’s on the same continent as Egypt, who’s priests said it was in the Atlantic, not right next to them

Another stunning episode. Thank you for your dedication to the knowledge forgotten to be given consideration to our future as human beings in the cosmos as on earth.
I was surprised to find so much similarity between Plato's conclusion and the beliefs in Hinduism, such as all soul being part of a universal energy (brahman) and even the mention of intervention in human evolution by more intelligent beings . But it is logical, after all Greeks have had a massive influence in Central Asia and India. There is also the mention of the great cataclysm that resulted in a world wide flood. But that is also mentioned in the bible as the great flood.
The flood was mentioned before the Bible was written.

Is it really a coincidence that the area where Plato said Atlantis was coincides with where the North American Plate, Eurasian Plate, and the Azores Microplate, as well as the Azores-Gibraltar Fault, all meet?
AtlanTES/AztaAtlTlan is likely the Azores, while the Doggerbank is AtlanTIS. AtlanTES got destroyed, and the survivors moved to the middle-americas and AtlanTIS, - which later on invaded Egypt due to AtlanTIS also sinking.
AtlanTES or AztaAtlTlan was the empire that spanned many islands and coasts of the Atlantic ocean, which in Mayan means "Land of water birds", and which Tolkien teased with the city Alqualondë which means Alkelund or "seagull cove" in modern norse dialects.
But AtlanTIS was the "Little island" under Atlantean control that independently went to war with the mediterranean because of it's proximity and survival of the initial deluge of AtlanTES.
This "little island" was most likely the Doggerbank which survived the icecap destruction simply because it was the furthermost *proper* outpost AWAY from the american icecaps when it got destroyed in a single day and night.
But AtlanTIS also got devoured by water under the Storegga slide 8200 years ago, which is why this part of europe is full of concentric rings in art, architecture, solar observatories and ancient stone carvings.
The Sun Chariot displayed in Denmark is likely a mix between Indo-European and Doggerlandish tradition, depicting both the Sun being dragged across the skies by a chariot *and* the concentric layout of the city of AtlanTIS.

Plato also wrote about how the Greeks helped the Egyptians fight of an Atlantian invasion war. Going from that part of text combine with other scriptures/ books / religrifts and egypt findings in the grand canyon usa, i think that before the last cataclism of a great flood we can easy conclude by evidence facts and logic that the continent Atlantis left over are the Eye of Mauritanië and Acores...

My collection of thought is that Atlantis was all over the earth. Plato describes specific things that are found in different places. That’s his way of telling us that. Atlantis went under water because the whole world did. He’s describing the flood from Noah’s ark. ❤️
I think underwater just means below the clouds, and or a lower frequency. Ive been to some pretty incredible places that seemed to be above the clouds, with the moon very close to the earth, almost like the photo in the beginning.

I was considering paying for the subscription also for gaia I'm a huge fan or ancient history and the possibility that what we call facts today, may actually all be wrong. What if Atlantis still exists. But in an alternate reality, a paralell universe that Plato had accidently visited. Or Atlantis was a huge mothership of alien visitors, and they simply took off.
That is an interesting idea and it would be a truly amazing thing that may explain so much of the world we know today, including all extra-terrestrial encounters, spirits, encounters with divine entities, etc., etc.
Btw, I want to inform you that Plato never said that he himself had encountered Atlantis though. He said that he was taught/told about past civilizations and the history of the peoples of earth, but he had never claimed to have 1st hand knowledge of this. That would have been his teacher & his teacher's teacher... Otherwise that would also mean that anyone who also lived during his timeline, could also have first hand knowledge about Atlantis...
Unless it did exist in a parallel dimension or plane of existence.
