She wants to stand and I bet she does in a few days. Had a heifer with the same issue this spring after a hard birth and it took 5 days for her to stand. Doing great over a month later now.
That’s what I’m hoping for!
Too bad about the old girl. Thank you for sharing. 🐂
The herd is growing!
Looks good.
Keep Smilin!!!!
Hope the new bull does well for you and that the old cow stands up. Great video and thanks.
Thanks 👍
I would visit farms/ranches and feed the bottle calves for free. They are precious. Im sorry about the loss of that calf and its mother's issues. I imagine that's very difficult for you on many levels. Thanks for the video, and good luck with your new bull.
Once they pinch those nerves in tailbone. It is usually good bye baby. Had a young 6 year old purebred angus get down and went out in pasture for 10 days with a skid loader and a nylon strap and lifted her every day but she never stood again so ❤my neighbor came over and put her down
Had a registered sim-angus bull. Bred 250-300 over a few years & we never had to pull a calf
Cool thanks 😊
Welcome back my friend and absolutely another spectacular beautiful shooting filming footage compilation documentary countryside content video and you are doing such an amazing job!! .. keep it up and have a wonderful blessing weekend to you and your beautiful family over there, million thanks again and appreciate your efforts and hard work for sharing your beautiful sharing lifestyle documentary adventure .. thanks and best regards from Montreal QC ..
We have been cross breeding simmental with Herefords for several years! the result:, low birth weight, fast growing big meaty calves. been a big win for us.
Good to hear! I’m hoping for the low birth weight. Less concerned about fast growing out of heifers but that would be an added bonus!
Definitely more Angus than Simmental....
Terminology I never thought I’d hear:
1. scrotal circumference
Glad to see the orange kitty still around keeping everything going and keeping you in line. Didn't you have one before that had weakness in the rear after birth before?
I did have one that I had to use a hip lift on a couple times a day. But this is a different cow. I just purchased her two months ago.
Have you ever tried the Braden Dry Start Bottles to get Bottle Calves on Feed?
Good job bro
we have Simmental here in Ontario Canada. we do full bloods
excellent!!
Simmental’s are excellent.
There's not much Simmental in that heifer bull. My guess is he's 80 percent Angus.
Those 20 cull cows will take your bull power. Too bad they couldn’t be separated from the bull.
Welcome to the Simmentals.
I raise Simmentals in your area. I raise Fullbloods
We will see how I like them!
@@FarmandHammer I believe you will!
Small heifers a no no with simentals big trouble you better be really sure
Yeah I know they used to have that reputation but there are some good low birthweight bulls out there now to chose from.
What is your long term goal with your cow herd? How many can you support with your leased farm, and are you looking for a uniform calf crop or more heterosis?
Long term is to produce great crossbred replacement females. In the next 5 years I’d like to add a breed to add some heat tolerance. The lease farm can handle about 45-50 cows.
Welcome to Simmentals. Lol
He should cross pretty nice the genetic base you have. 👍👍
I’m hoping he will have baldie calves!
@@FarmandHammer you'll definitely have a good chance at it with the baldies you've got. 👍👍
@ohrmundtsimmentals yeah with the heifers being half -3/4 Hereford, this bull’s sire had some white on his face so I’m hoping it comes through.
It’s really called a Bull Calf. Heifer is lil girl cow.
You are correct but I think he call him a Heifer bill is because he is going to use him to breed his heifers.
What Wade said ☝️
Oh…. Didn’t here that. I got it now!! Thanks!
Very calm cause me and my cows have come to Jesus meetings. While she trying to hit somebody lol 😂😂. I know it bout came out
so wonderful beautiful video Isaac i love it see so nice
Quick question why would you let her go most farmers would haves pulled the calf just asking good way to lose money
U will have to get the tractor and loader out lift her get the serculation going
The problem is that she went down in a ditch and we’ve had 6 inches of rain in the last 3 days. It’s too wet to get a truck or 4x4 tractor down there to lift her.
That’s the strangest looking Simmental I’ve ever seen! Maybe do a google search and find out what real Simmentals are supposed to look like 😂
There are purebred black simmentals. Just like almost every cattle breed, they have developed a black purebred line over the years.
You’ll have a better chance if you try lifting her from the tail
It might not show it in the video but I was just trying to hold up her left side, not lift her up.
To bad about the older cow, and her calf.
How bout a branding episode
We don’t do any branding on our farm. Might try freeze branding in the future.
That cow needs water as much as feed
She’s getting about 15 gallons of water a day. And almost drinking it all.
What does broke mouth cow mean
teeth are broken/worn out from age
❤️🇨🇦
That poor, distressed cow. Very, very sad to see her suffering in spite of your helpful efforts. Regarding the small, youthful bull, once acclimated to his environment he could be a little firebrand with the ladies. Thank you for starting this recording with the feeding of your two “dependents.” Adorable calves!!!!
👍👍❤🐂
You should flip the cow over to her other side
I have flipped her to both sides when possible. Her left leg was stuck out, and I couldn’t get her flipped in this video.
@@FarmandHammer need to bring out that hoist you used on a cow to lift her up
Heifer bull huh. What pronoun would that be considered hahahaha
😂
Adjective
You don't have the right equipment. Bogus!
Nice Bull, Maybe the Birth weight will be better.
If it’s not, I’ll be in a bad spot.
