  • Indianapolis, once the epicenter of manufacturing in America, is at a crossroads. Manufacturing jobs are vanishing and more-technical jobs are taking their place. Can the middle class survive? WorkingNation talks to local leaders and the middle-class workers chasing the American Dream for themselves and their families - even as the world of work shifts beneath their feet. WorkingNation and Lumina Foundation take an in-depth look at the challenges and possible solutions, highlighting the stories of two middle-class residents: Tawnya Rachelle McCrary and Donte Sims.

Indianapolis is blessed to have people like these 2 heroes in the community; their inspiration and tenacity to overcome all obstacles will shine a bright light for others to follow in their footpath

What an inspiration from both testimonies. Tawnya is as compassionate as she is driven to success. She must know that however indebted she may be, her purpose in her community is much more powerful than all of her debt put together. This is efficacy.

Tawyna a wonderful person! She represents what is good in America and now corporate America have to recommit to more than just the bottom line and realizing the communities across the nation have helped them build their profits and brand. And now it is time for them to go back to what was the corporate ethos from a generation ago and also support the communities they workers in with decent and livable wages!

No, you can go to corporate America and still donate your time. Tawnya, you have to take care of yourself and your family.

At the center of indiana you will find a circle and at the center of that circle you will find the light of a candle, at the center of the crossroads of America you will find crosshairs you will find a target with a bullseye at the center

You could have bought a house for 6,000 in 2012. Some bought stupid stuff instead.

Indianapolis murder rate is out of control. Also the state is far behind other states.

Maybe , But currently the city is pioneering a justice center that might turn the whole dam thing around ! I am from the criminal class of Indy 90% of criminal activity is folks know no other way . But Indy is legit building something right now that will either help or turn into a cop city !

Not so… perhaps you missed the point of future proofing perspective from obsolescence… I imagine the tech focused gent aspires for his name to move his view long after the video is consumed. So I guess it comes down to funding ie your “dreams”(education) or stability on your chosen path ie “gods work”(the grandmother- 5 kids) …She clearly noted btw that if she were just after money it wouldn’t be an issue because she’s been “courted” by corporate America. But she is bringing others up and onward(“gods work”)
