I can't believe that we are 3 months away from making hay again. These 50 degree days are teasing us. Already have the corn planter pulled in the shop and starting to go over it and getting ready for spring. Thank you Charlie for another great video and love how the weights complete the look of the oliver tractors
Yeah, I'll be starting to service tractors this week. I'll get the planter greased up and ready to go. Hopefully plowing next month. Lots to look forward to. Thanks for always being here Matthew.
That’s impressive! I never thought of using a handyman jack for that! I usually just take a couple swings of barley pop, and grunt a couple times and hang them on the bolts 🤣🤣🤣
Well, as they say - necessity is the mother of invention. The handyman jack was handy-er than you thought. But I swigged a couple barley pops anyway. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Well, nice to see you again Charlie glad to hear all your surgery went well and I’m very glad that that wait on that friend of that 770 didn’t make it harder to turn. Definitely look forward to your videos.
Man yeah Mr Charlie, glad to hear the healing is complete, and you are cleared!! Sounds like that handy man jack saved the day!! Glad y'all were able to get those bolts out!! The weights look amazing for sure!! Looking fwd to seeing the 770 on the baler... won't be long!! 😁 Thank you sir for bringing us along!! 😁😁👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks for stopping by, as always, Nelson. I'm looking forward to getting started on the spring work for sure. The Handyman jack sure was handy. Saved lifting at a time when I couldn't. Very easy to do.
Looks great Charlie! I'm glad you got the all clear from the doctor and have healed nicely. With this bummer of a winter I am already looking forward to spring. We need moisture bad though. Very little snow and we went into fall in a drought. See you next time!
Thanks Bill. Hope you're doing well also. WE dried out some this past week - pretty much a week of temps in the 50's and a couple in the 60's with a good bit of sunshine. We were pretty soggy here in the fields.
Something about weights on a tractor makes them look complete as well as making them a little safer. We have some pretty good hills here as well; I have had my 856 and 966 slide on me. Not a good time getting pushed around by a hay wagon. Really enjoy the way you do things. Barley pop at the end never hurts either.
Thanks Jeff. I think the weights are a good idea too. I was pushed last summer at my friend Cory's baling hay - the pucker factor certainly went up at that point. And yes, barley pops certainly do help. My friends and I all agree on that point! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Glad your healing went well. Love the weights on the 770. We had an 880 same era as your 770; white weighted wheels and green block on front under the white slotted grill. Weights gave solid traction disking; turned fine with ribbed tires. Never light or tippy baling on our hills but our ground isn’t as steep as yours. Nice tractor but gas so we eventually upgraded to a four digit series with diesel engine.
Charlie that weights are worth much what you paid for it, the confidence you have now with the traction alone will pay for it in wheel slip and wear, well done my friend
Ok thanks for showing it installed. I wonder if that bracket you took off was for a front mount cultivator. We had brackets similar on the 2 cylinders. They were for cultivators and they helped with getting them mounted up.
I suppose it could me. Oliver tractor-mounted cultivators were mounted on 2 round metal poles that went through the tractor frame, unless it is some other type of cultivator, which is possible.
Not bad because I'm used to it. I never even had a wide front-end tractor until about 25 years ago, but still never baled with them. So, baling with a narrow front is all I know. Never had a problem.

Charlie, nice job on getting the weights painted up and they look good. 👍 Thanks Michael
Thanks MIchael. I'm pleased with how they turned out and how they look on the tractor.
Lucky to find them starter weights 😊
Yes, they were quite a lucky find - especially to find 2 of them at the same place for a very reasonable price.

Thanks for your kind words. I'm pleased with the weights on the 770. Should be able to get videos out more regularly now.
Handyman Jack Survivor! T shirts are on order!
That's cool. Let me know when they come in so I can order one. The handy man jack shines again.

Those weights look great. Looking forward to seeing the tractor and baler combo!
Me too, believe me! Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

That's a cool story. Thanks, Dave. I think these weights will work our well for what I plan to do with the tractor.
Glad you're healed up Charley. The 770 should be weighted down enough to bale now.
Yes, I think so. Thanks for stopping by Pete!
Looks great!
Thanks Dave. I like the look of the weights on the tractors. Makes them look complete.

Thank you, Jan. I'm pleased with where the tractor is now weight-wise. I appreciate you watching and commenting.
Looking ready for work ! Enjoyed watching!
Thanks Cousin Scott - I do think the 770 is ready to go!

What’s it like baling on hills with a narrow front end

Hello Charlie, your 770 is sharp looking tractor. What kind of White paint did you use on tje weights? Did you spray them?
Thank you, Aaron. It's the Oliver clover white and yes, I sprayed them with spray cans. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
@@pagrainfarmer no problem keep up the good Oliver videos.
